Also, possibly the wrong place to be flagging this, but in the same mission I witnessed the Crabstang, I saw that a few of the damage/destruction animations for the Ju-88 (and the Bf-109) were a little odd. These aircraft were caught taxiing and were repeatedly strafed by AI P-51s performing a "fighter sweep". They broke, umm, awkwardly leaving unsupported fuselages just suspended in the air, multiple canopies left underneath the 109s (I think one per strafe attack, but not certain) and same again for elevator parts on one of them. Rik.

Sideways, you say? FWIW, I caught an AI P-51 flying sideways a couple of nights ago. Hopefully have it on video... Ah, yes, here we go

Evening all. Came here because I too got what I suspected to be false positives from Eset this evening -- the latest definitions would appear to be the problem. Interesting that mine aren't the same modules... Submitted to Eset for analysis. Rik. Is it broken? Or is my understanding flawed? Farmer noob here! Took advantage of the recent sales just so I could complete my collection. But the ARK-5 is driving me nuts... So, first thing I notice is that there's a discrepancy between the two English cockpits -- the "clean" one has the "near" position on the left and the "far" on the right, however, the weathered version is reversed:huh: Putting this aside (and using the "clean" English cockpit), the Navigation tutorial mission doesn't work; I simply cannot get any sort of signal on the set: Click to "radio compass" (static audible) Select "near" Select "TLF" setting Use r/h dial selector on ARK-5 to select 640-1300 setting Select "ANT" Wiggle the tuning wheel back and forth either side of 1000kHz point (for Gelendzhik) I get zero deflection on the signal strength meter and no morse. Is it broken, or am I missing something? Cheers, Rik.

Thanks, man! I turned the anti-aliasing off in game and dialled the gamma to about 1.5 and it *did* look a whole lot better. The only issue that remains is that all the text in menus, briefings, etc. looks slightly weird now, kind of indistinct, fuzzy, a tad flickery. Can't quite pinpoint what causes it. Cheers, Rik.

If I may ask what could be a staggeringly dumb question? Are these intended to augment the in-game settings or replace them? Should I, for instance, turn off SSAO altogether? And should my game's gamma slider be backed off? I ask because right now, with your presets (and I very much appreciate this is about personal preference), on, for example, Nevada, I have a very, very bright image with extremeley gaudy colouration. Again, apologies if this is kid's stuff, but I'm seeking to get the sort of clarity I see in vids and screenies, whereas my defaults always look a tad washed-out and subdued. FYI, this is on a stock-clocked 1080Ti with a 6700K with 32GB RAM running at 1920x1080. Cheers, Rik.

Single player missions always paused? (2.5.5.32533)
Wikkus replied to Wikkus's topic in Mission Editor
Done, and that's fixed the problem  New logfile attached as I'm still seeing a few warnings/errors, although at least one of those -- CE2-related -- I don't have the module for anyway. Incidentally, there's now the familar briefing reminder/splash screen with the "Fly"/unpause/begin mission button on it, something I'd overlooked was actually missing. Now just to figure out what I can move across from my backup -- the bindings LUA files are quite obvious, but is there anything else that needs to come across? Cheers, Rik dcs-log-3.zip -
Single player missions always paused? (2.5.5.32533)
Wikkus replied to Wikkus's topic in Mission Editor
Second try... Noted, thanks. Done and done. Re-ran exactly as before and noticed some of the aforementioned errors still there and these were pointing to independent/third party add-ons installed in the preferred "%USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\DCS\Mods" location, e.g. VPC ground objects, 476th Range Targets, Civil Objects, etc., so these were culled leaving only Tacview, the community A-4 and the Civ Aircraft mods. Same result. So, culled Tacview and the two aircraft mods so there are *no* non-core mods at all (/cry) and yep, it's still starting in a paused state. I hasten to add that despite this annoyance, everything else in game works absolutely fine and dandy. Cheers, Rik. dcs-log-2.zip -

dcs.log attached Here's my log file, fresh off the, er, press :) Load DCS; select pre-built mission (in this case, the F/A-18 "Valley Run"); hit "start"; game loads; mission presented in paused state (at which point I quit out to desktop to keep file size to bare minimum). Cheers, Rik. dcs-log.zip -
Single player missions always paused? (2.5.5.32533)
Wikkus replied to Wikkus's topic in Mission Editor
Hi Bignewy, Yes, that unpauses the mission for me, but what I'm after is it *not* being paused in the first place, iyswim? I don't recall missions starting in a paused state before; as I remember, one chooses the mission, hit "start" on the briefing screen, wait for the loading, then straight into mission. Except I'm going straight into a paused mission  Cheers, Rik. -

Hey folks, Struggling to get the AI to do what (I think) should be some very basic stuff. I've spent the last umpteen hours trying different configurations of aircraft, waypoints, loadouts and so on. In short, what I'm trying to achieve is to bomb a cluster of eight ammunition bunkers. AI pilot skill set to Excellent. I've given up on low level strikes as the AI seems utterly incapable of doing NoE and even when I get them to stay reasonably low and come in from behind terrain, they always pop up to 5k+ feet and get shot by AAA, and/or they goof around trying to get their approach "right" and get shot by AAA. Doesn't seem to matter if I set "attack from direction" or not, they mess about. And forget using retarded munitions and lay-down attacks. So, I've instead switched to a high (25k ft) and level attack, the most effective so far being either carpet-bombing the bejesus with Mk84s from a B-52H, or more promisingly, using JDAMs from a B-1B. I even managed to get the B-1B to strike the first four bunkers (and all eight are neatly organised in a 2x4 row), but the second four all fall way too long. Any ideas how to fix this? Is it even fixable? Cheers, Rik. P.S. attached is a screenie of an AI mudhen having "issues" with JSOWs... :shocking:

Greetings, folks. Apologies if this is answered elsewhere -- if so, my search/GoogleFu is weak  I've been away for a little while and came back very recently because of the Fw-190-A8. I had an issue following the update to OB 32533 and had to perform a repair of my installation. Everything is back to normal *except* I now find every mission I start, whether it's an Instant Action, part of a Campaign, or even a self-created one, starts in a paused state. Is this a new feature? Can it be turned off (and how)? Sorry again if I'm missing something obvious. Cheers, Rik

Just to add... Sorry for the thread necro, but I was tinkering with the ME earlier and figured out a couple of things; I actually came here to see if anyone else had the same experience. So, as @Hardcard mentions, and others have stated in other threads, it is indeed possible to use the Fire At Point command to launch TLAMs at stuff on shore. However, it seems it's a little fussy how you set it up... I started by choosing a bunch of targets and then, having marked the first, specifiying weapon type, number of rounds to expend, etc., I used the "clone" command in the advanced editor to, er, clone the attacks, shifting the triangle for each target onto each new object as I went, selecting the new target triangle, hitting clone, and so on. Oh, I am so smart; a ME guru! :smilewink: Except, no. I'm not. I found that, despite the target triangle being on each separate location in the ME, every single missile went to the very first point. Hmm... So, I scrubbed it and started over. Long story short, the way I got it to work was by using the "clone" command on the first point only, then shifting the target triangle for each of the subsequent strikes; create first Fire At Point mark, configure it, then clone it as many times as required (16 for me as I believe that's a full loadout for a full salvo on the Ticonderoga -- I stand to be corrected), shift each triangle to a desired target and you're golden. Once again, apologies if this is covered elsewhere, but it came as a bit of a "Eureka!" moment for me and I hope it helps someone else. Cheers and beers, R.

Ok, finally got it all to work! The Navy Equipment file linked above is entitled US Navy Deck Equipment and is by Highwayman-ED. This is not the problem; it's a /different/ mod that was missing called "NavyEquipment" (by MaiTai) and I found it here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3301553/ HTH, R.

An excellent initiative and I absolutely appreciate the time and effort involved in creating such a monster project! However, I too am having problems getting this to work; the template loads into the ME, but the mission cannot then be saved/cannot go fly. This is the case for the Light, Medium and High versions (with 587, 846 and 1541 objects, respectively). Granted, there are some assets I cannot actually locate, e.g. the "Insurgent sf 4x4" seems not to be available any longer, however, the problem seems deeper seated. I went through every asset in loaded from the (Light) template into my mission one by one (all 587 of them...), deleting an asset, trying to save, deleting the next asset, trying to save, rinse and repeat. I got down to a list of 53 assets -- a mixed bunch of static aircraft (including some reskins), VPC ground objects and Ranger 79s objects, at which point it would not allow me to delete any more. Any thoughts on what gives? FYI, my rig is a similar spec to your own, i.e. 32GB RAM, i7-6700k, 1080Ti.

[FIXED INTERNALLY] New Fuzes Sneakeye low attack
Wikkus replied to paura19's topic in Bugs and Problems
Thought I was going crazy, but... I too saw Paura's initial response in the comments on Wags' video that appeared the other day regarding the change to fusing options. I'm also seeing the same thing and was easily able to replicate: I'm no expert, but this doesn't seem right :( -
This ^^ Any of them would be a superb addition to the series, although I'd be particularly partial to the D- and E-model CH-53s. CH-46 would be another nice to have. R.

Nailed it! Waypoint was set as a 25k ft turning point. Set it to ground level and voila! Thanks, dude. R. -

Wikkus replied to JABO2009's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Same, but I'm struggling even in singleplayer :( Yeah, I'm seeing the same behaviour; in Wags' tut video, after he's set his weapons up, he selects the next WP and hits WPDSG and he gets an ASL/fall line and release cues. I don't  Yeah, same here (see above); all the other parameters seem correct, but I'm not getting ASL/release cue symbology. I appreciate that a work-around is to drop CCIP, but I want to do this "properly" from about 25k ft, straight and level. Sorry for being a noob :( R. -

Ba-dump. Just landed here because I found myself tearing out my hair trying to figure out why my Predator wasn't laser designating. Guess I'm not alone. Hope there's a fix :/ R. -

Seeing this behaviour on TIR Pro 5 in single player; I've found that tabbing out, closing TIR client and reopening usually gets me back up and running without having to close/reopen DCS. YMMV. Sent from my ONE A2003 using Tapatalk
