  1. I am in for the more economical things that have been said here. But when it comes to the more expensive peripherals like Track Ir, what about the more affordable Tobii EyeX for DCS? It looks like you don't have to be a statue when learning to adapt to it.
  2. Oops. I said 3 days, and I meant 3 weeks. I had whatever the latest model of Track Ir was at the time back in December 2012. The screen sharing session with Track Ir themselves said that I did everything regarding being patient because they said that in 3 weeks I should be used to it. The tech said that they had never seen anything like it. They also said in that 2+ hour session that they had tried everything in adjusting their software on my computer. I moved my head when instructed to do so, kept still at various angles, looked straight and static, etc.
  3. Thank you. I did not know Track Noir existed. I just looked at their website and am encouraged. I had Track-Ir for about 3 days. It was overly sensitive beyond belief. A slight tilt of my head and I was outside the cockpit. Looking down no more than 15 degrees had me looking at the floor or thru the floor. A tech support guy from Track-Ir screenshared with me on the phone for over 2 hours adjusting every point in their software and tried adjusting sensitivity settings, and he finally gave up. He apologized and suggested that I send it in for a refund, so I did just that.
  4. The reason I put my first post in the Belsimtek forum is because they are the partner developer. Anywho there are kinda 2 different answers here. I like the second answer from SyntaxError much better. Thank you Syntax!
  5. I posted this in the Belsimtek sub-forum here but no response as of yet. The question is: The control stick obscures a screen in the F-18. So if someone like me does not have track-ir, is that going to be a problem?
  6. Thanks. Will do.
  7. I don't know what to tell anybody but I just spent over 4 hours in both 1.5 and 2.0. The auto lase works in 1.5 but it does not work in 2.0, I went back and forth between the two versions of DCS. My procedures are identical. Someone mentioned that I could record or do a short track of the flight and upload it here. How do I do that?
  8. Thank you very much! You nailed the problem. For some reason the A-10C in 2.0 will not auto-lase even though I have the bombs programmed to do so in the DSMS profile pages. I have to hold on the NWS button to manually laser the target and the bombs are on target now. Strange that the auto-lase works in 1.5.
  9. I have not had a chance to test it again. I think I will have time to do it tomorrow and then I will report back here. What I can say is that my missions are created by DCS Create Quick Mission. Thanks!
  10. In DCS 2.0 I program my GBU-10s or GBU-12s in CCRP mode with auto-lase on and 10 seconds in the box just as the tutorial says to do. I hit the left Ctrl button and up arrow on the keyboard and everything looks perfect in the hud and on the TGP display. The 2 solid green lines are lined up and the bomb releases the moment the timer dot on the hud passes into the round green retical. But the target is only hit on very rare occasion. On the TGP display I keep the crosshairs on the target the entire time, even after the bomb is released. In DCS 1.5 I fly missions and the bombs nail their targets every time with an exception once in a blue moon. However in DCS 2.0 my laser guided bombs hit their target 1 time in maybe 30 times. The point of impact is about 50 to 100 yards off target. The weather is set to clear and there is no wind whenever I fly in DCS 2.0. I am between 8,000 feet and 10,000 feet in the A-10C when they are released and I keep the A-10C at 210 to 215 kts. I have ran the Repair DCS World on both 1.5, and 2.0 open alpha and nothing changes. I nail the targets in DCS 1.5 in CCRP (with auto-lase on) practically every time, but not in 2.0 and I do nothing different in 2.0. Any suggestions?
  11. Here is a picture of my F-15's cockpit. It looks very different now with the lighting effects post-update. And yes, the hud's intensity setting is turned up as high as possible, 1 notch lower on the hud's intensity and the hud begins to fade away quickly regardless of the sun light's angle. Same deal with the A-10C. Any suggestions?
  12. I did what you suggested, and I have had a ctd again but it was only in the M2000C. The A-10C and F-15 also have a cockpit that instrumentation is hard to read. The update did weird things to the cockpit graphics on all of my planes. The M2000C's canopy is 1 big reflection that reflects the airframe's paint scheme, the canopy is transparent but not clear anymore. The F-15's left computer screen has blocky texture letters and number, and the A10-C's hud is barely readable and I have its' intensity set to max. My graphic's settings are set no differently than before the update. Was part of the update meant to make the sun's power, and all reflections on glass, in the cockpit so brilliant that it is now more realistic than before the update?
  13. I did the cleanup and repair. But the renaming of the openalpha rename is where I am confused. Do you want me to copy the complete folder as a backup and store it somewhere, and then rename the openalpha folder to something like Saved Games\DCS.openalpha123?
  14. Okay, thanks for the help. I am attaching the zipped logs file. Logs.zip
  15. Sorry. I did not know people that can help are looking at various sub-forums here.
  16. For some reason my screenshot will not attach to my post here. If you want to see it, it is in the 3rd party developer M2000C forum.
  17. I updated DCS 2.0 to its latest version release, no problems at all before the latest release. After the release I flew the M2000 on some air to air missions and everything was fine. Then DCS 2.0 began to ctd 5 seconds into a flight and it did it again, and again.... The graphics looked great as usual also, BUT before the computer restart. But due to the constant ctd that began happening I restarted the computer hoping the ctd's were a memory problem, and the computer restart worked in my favor for about a minute then it began the ctd thing all over again. I also noticed that the cockpit graphics, and the hud was especially unreadable almost regardless of sun light direction into the cockpit, so the attached screenshot shows the hud as best I could see it and you will notice that the lines on the airplane are not sharp (crisp) and straight anymore. This is strange because before I restarted the computer I had no problems with any poor graphic's quality. No changes to any settings have taken place. Anyone have any ideas? Before computer restart, no graphics issues.
  18. I just updated DCS 2.0 to its latest version release. After the release I flew the M2000 on some air to air missions and everything was fine. I also noticed that the cockpit graphics and especially the hud was unreadable, so the attached screenshot shows the hud as best I could angle it from sunlight to see it and you will notice that the lines on the airplane are not sharp (crisp) and straight anymore. This is strange because before I restarted the computer I had no problems with any poor graphic's quality. No changes to any settings have taken place. Anyone have any ideas? 19. I read the light reading. Thank you for the link. However I noticed that in that webpage that every license has 10 activations. I have only activated these planes once before when I bought them, so why do I have 7 left on 2 other planes as I explained above? If this was due to the server, then why did DCS support respond differently to the Su-27 activation vs. the F-15C activation. So when it comes to deactivating modules: I could not boot into Windows due to a major driver malfunction according to my computer's manufacturer. Utilizing Windows GUI was no option. The only option I had was to go into the recovery drive, save the files that I could, and then restore the computer to original factory settings. So what is someone to do in this situation? While trying to activate the F-15C and Su-27, I also activated the A-10C, F-86, M2000, and Viggen and these activated just fine without error within seconds. So my question as earlier in this post is: I have only activated these planes once before and that was when I bought them, so why do I have 7 left on the F-15C and Su-27 as I explained above? Remember I have only activated all of these planes once before, and that was when I bought them.
  20. I submitted a support ticket about activating the F-15C and Su-27 because at first neither would activate, and after 2 automated (like an involuntary software loop) attempts DCS activation window asked me to re-enter the activation code due to a DCS server problem, so I did what I was asked and re-entered the codes. Finally both planes activations were successful. The same person from DCS support responded to both support tickets. However the answers to the activation problems on the Su-27 was different than the F-15C. I no longer have 8 activations remaining for the F-15C and Su-27. The guy from DCS support said that the Su-27 activation problem was due to: "Your activation error has occurred due to the ongoing work on StarForce server But don't worry. Activations are endless." But his response on the F-15C activation makes no sense to me: "My recommendations is: Before: -Change your computer hardware or -Reinstall the operating system Deactivate your modules, that would not lose one activation on the updated configuration." Can someone please help me sort this out? Thank you.
  21. Thank you very much guys! The best and most informative flight simulation forum that exists bar none.
  22. Thanks guys for this. I am new to DCS, so could someone please post a link that has installation instructions for installing the English cockpit? I read the readme from the Viggen cockpit English mod and it says to use JSGME Install method #1. I do not know what this is. In the zip file, there isn't anything named JSGME. Thank you for the help!
  23. I accidentally ran across a youtube video of the DCS Black Shark 2 and I noticed that whoever was flying it had an English cockpit. Now I know that there have been discussions here about a translated cockpit for the Viggen so that it would be in English. Any update on that front so far?
  24. Very good! Thank you much.
