  1. According to the recent email sent to previous (almost) customers, they have stock ready to ship. Assuming some of those who cancelled their initial orders are still reluctant to trade with WinWing, there should hopefully be stock freely available soon.
  2. Normal main rotor rpm (NR) for the UH-1H is 324. - Bear
  3. Forgive me. I don't mind the stupidity, it's the undeserved arrogance that grates. I'll just ignore him instead. - Bear
  4. I've got around 1200 hours in the real UH-1H, did plenty of crazy/stupid things, never been close to VRS. How about you "keyboard jockey"? If you read them carefully the "charts" can explain to you why you haven't said a single thing worth discussing. - Bear
  5. From memory, the Flight Manual said continued flight to a suitable location was possible above 40 kias. That was for a loss of TR drive, not for actual loss of the TR components. A lot less torque in the -1H than the 412. Don't remember a checklist action for loss of TR components such as rotors, hub and gearbox...
  6. From the Maintenance Test Flight Manual: IN-FLIGHT CHECKS 1. Control rigging - Check: a. FORCE TRIM - ON b. Increase airspeed - 90 (Nose mounted), 100 (Roof mounted) using 30 PSI torque, needle ball centered. c. Note cyclic nearly center; force trim holds controls in position. d. Right pedal should be 1.0 to 2.0'' forward of left. e. The collective should not creep up or down. f. FORCE TRIM - OFF. - Bear
  7. A Google image search for 'Vietnam Huey' shows almost no images of aircraft with doors off. I have around 1200 hours in the Huey and about two of them were with the pilot doors removed. Cabin doors pinned back, yes... Off, almost never. I'm not saying it shouldn't be an option, but you're overstating the importance. - Bear
  8. I've had a good long think about it and I'm out. I've emailed WinWing to cancel my order. I agree that it's a good thing for WinWing to improve the product based on 'reviewer' feedback, I have no problem at all with that. However, this is an already established company in the commercial/professional sim market and therefore: - The hardware faults shouldn't be appearing with such little use. Commercial users are generally far more demanding and rough on hardware than home users. - The preorder timeline is a major problem for me. Given how long it took to provide an engineering sample to reviewers, I find the original estimate of August, which I think was only a month or so after the preorder opened, so wildly inaccurate that I can only see it as a ruse, or commercial lie, to generate immediate interest and revenue. Delays happen, particularly with a new product, but an initial estimate of one month blowing out to five isn't credible. Given it took more than three months for engineering samples to reach 'reviewers', did anyone at WinWing think an August release was feasible? I don't believe so. Imagine if the original preorder had given November as an expected release date... I think there may have been slightly fewer preorders, at least initially, but I think the mood toward WinWing would be far more positive. It's a pity because I want them to succeed, but for now WinWing has cashed in their commercial credibility with me. I'll likely purchase version 2 or 3 of the throttle, but only when there is stock on the shelf. - Bear
  9. Excellent news mate.
  10. Cheers mate, PM inbound. - Bear
  11. If I place an order now will it be the updated version? Is there an option to have the USB cable at the rear of the ICP rather than the top? Cheers, - Bear
  12. Out of stock now for me too, not sure what happened earlier. Sorry lads. - Bear
  13. I just tried the store and it says 'in stock', couldn't find a number remaining. I added one to the basket and it let me progress to order confirmation with no problem. Sorry in advance if it turns out to be false, but it looks as if there is stock again. - Bear
  14. It's all a big 'maybe'. Maybe there'll be more stock for the pre-order... maybe there won't... maybe further orders will be after the pre-order period. Nothing specific, nothing promised. At least that's what I've read. - Bear
  15. Which part of are you struggling with? - Bear
  16. No. What WINWING posted was: - Bear
  17. I'm still interested in a release purchase when available. Cheers, - Bear
  18. I know, :) I took it in 2003. Most of the (post-Vietnam) photos I found on a google search seem to be like this one. Probably just because it's easier to stencil the letters than paint the whole frame. - Bear
  19. Someone probably told him he couldn't do it. :) - Bear
  20. Would like to assist with initial testing. - Bear
  21. Same here, I get by just clicking it on/off as required. Not the end of the world, just thought I'd see if I was missing an option to get rid of it. Cheers, - Bear
  22. I said "when I bring up the comms menu", not you, not anyone else, not everyone else. All I want to know is how I can remove the cursor. You've contributed nothing to the original question. - Bear
  23. Of course it's an issue for me... I posted it. Who did you think I was speaking for? Is not under VR because it's not just a VR issue. You seem upset that you "have to read through this", yet bothered to post a useless opinion. Why do you feel you are you so important that I should only post issues that concern you? - Bear
  24. I'm talking about having the option. I'm using VR and want it gone, don't presume to know what is best for me. - Bear
