  1. So your upset because a m2k caught up to you and killed you in the powerful su27? ;) Lots of factors that could lead up to that. Was he higher than you? Did he have a lead pursuit and sufficient energy to close? Did he start his pursuit at a higher velocity than you? List goes on. I've been flat out out run by an su33, but then again I've dived down on a 33 while he was low on speed and even tho he lit the burners I still forced him into a kill shot. Now mig29 lights the burners....Forget it. He goneee. :pilotfly:
  2. Pitot heat? "De icing on " refers to engine bleeds which is controlled by the circuit breaker switch on lower right switch panel (which clearly you had turned on) Pitot heat are two square buttons on the left panel that illuminate green when activated and they must be activated manually, there is no associated EICAS light) if they were also on then yes I would conclude it was just do to the previous bug. Too bad I won't be on for the rest of the week but I am always down for L39 wingmen to attack ground targets. Shes a module that I just can't ignore for some reason, something that keeps drawing me back in! Also cross country next weekend most likely for all trainer/light attack aircraft!
  3. hmmm it might be, I feel like i was getting better performance in the cold weather (as it should be) but it is very possible its modeled as weight. What you described seems like ice accumulation. Were you running all anti-ice equipment? Recently all airspeed indication were off in precipitation until the last update. Perhaps now you are flying at correct indicated speeds and your power settings dont match as the bug was in excess of 30kts on the L39
  4. haha a russian huey! and temp was fine, battery start is really slow so i used ground power to start huey. I did flights in F5 UH1 F86 P51 M2k L39 and no problems anywhere. Ice does form really fast tho so make sure to turn on before takeoff. And the pressure wasnt a problem either, local altimeter 28.33 set everything just fine. I also saw some Ka50s doing damage so I dont know if they had any problems to report either.
  5. It was a bitter cold January morning while the Huey crews loaded their choppers. Snow fall and sub zero temperatures lead to low level air frame icing that had to be remedied. Whiteout terrain rendered night vision goggles near useless as the 2 ship flew in tight formation to the enemy outpost. Stacked in a line formation nearly 5 feet off the ground and speeds of 120kts they performed a fast attack with guns and rockets and delivered some communism to the capitalist dogs:thumbup::pilotfly::joystick:
  6. Booting up DCS now, binge flying all day..pics to follow :)
  7. Lol if i send you computer would i get a reserved slot in F5?!;)
  8. Sounds like an awesome update!! Just over here been trying to join full server for 10 mins....:music_whistling: :(
  9. Is the server in winter now? I'll get on tomorrow and try to get a better explanation for ya. Also make sure if you are in the cold start aircraft you must go through the alignment process (YouTube) is your best friend for that if you are unfamiliar. I am only referencing the HOT aircraft in winter months
  10. lower away! added realism for pre heating! 15C is so boring;) In spirit of winter you should maybe try 0C with rain so we have to use engine anti ice and account for degraded performance :D or snow?! But i think you said snow is bad for MP or something along those lines...cant remember As for the mirage question, during winter the m2k is bugged and isnt aligned properly, you have to manually slave your hud then it works just fine. Just 1 click of the mouse on the HSI
  11. Excellent:thumbup:
  12. Omg this is unacceptable. I can't do the xc without the mighty c101. Maybe we will have to reschedule. Hop on a flight to "Murica" as Cosmic calls it, we can have a real sim party at my house:joystick:
  13. Changing cap aircraft would be an interesting test I think we should have C101CC CAP:lol: Or Mi8 hehe Roll call! Who's doing cross country flight this weekend?! Saturday preferably any takers?
  14. If you type "-re load" and just keep that chat box open when your in position just hit enter really quick...but make sure ur in position because if not you will have to take ur hands off controls lol
  15. For a hover pickup you can use command "-re load" or the standards f10 menu however your helicopter must be (unless Mirknir has changed it) at least 50' or lower AGL with vertical speed of 0 and ground speed less than 1 or 2 kts? Basically you must be in a legitimate hover at that altitude of 50' or lower.
  16. Today I have had an epiphany for Open Conflict and my hate/disgust of Datalink or AI....flying the su27 last week a few times I have come to a realization of why I was always blaming datalink or FC pilots.... For those of us who fly the non FC aircraft we are (by nature of the generation of aircraft) already at a massively significant disadvantage to other players (mirage not so much but still slight disadvantage) so what do we need to do to be successful? Be sneaky breekys and get right up on the enemy before they know we are there so we can pounce them from behind or underneath. How do we try to accomplish this?! Fly low and undetected to where the enemy will least expect us, as close to them as possible! But what ALWAYS HAPPENS?! AI cap kills us before we have a chance to get the players full burning at 10k into the conflict zone heads down at their OP radars! So it is with this epiphany that I realize DL may not be so much of the problem as the AI. We can hide from DL but not from AI. We can use our ability to sneak up on players but NOT AI! So after countless attempts to sneak around and get blown out of the sky by ai what are we forced to do? Fly stupid and right in the heart of the DL and conflict zone hoping to score an even less likely unsuspecting player kill. I know Mirk was talking about removing DL for a few sessions, I say no to that but why not try a few sessions with out AI instead? Leave the flak zones to prevent trolling to the airfields, but leave it up to the players to battle there way back out into the zone. Just my two cents after some pondering waiting for maintenance.
  17. I think I may have been practicing too many carrier landings in DCS....:music_whistling:
  18. Haha wow, yeah I'm no longer making that those bets with NASA after he almost took out my F5 with one of those werfengranate things. I can't believe you got the hawk now too, what is happening to us lol well now we have a perfect 4 ship for a new cross country, 2 hawk armed escorts and 1 L39 and 1 c101. We should do it this weekend! Maybe I'll buy the C101 now...
  19. Those that were wondering about IP, this was taken a week ago. Not sure if it's the same or if it changes ever
  20. That's so awesome! Would have loved to seen it! Good thing we didn't have any module bets  Get back Friday but probably won't be on til later your time, but I should be on this weekend and Monday of next week. Football season in America now, so I bid weekend days off and work regular M-f if I can. We need to do some bush flying!
  21. I wonder if the server performance has gone down because of the scattered Dora wreckage all over the map:lol: Jkjk
  22. A single Huey can take out listening post and incursion in one go with only 14 rockets. Here's a secret, are you loading explosive packs? F10 menu F10 again and F6. You can load 2. Plant one near each tower, use guns only on all soft targets, even mi8! Just be accurate. Then get to a safe distance! F10 f10 f6 to detonate. Boom post is down. Nap of the earth to incursion, maintain as fast as comfortable using ridge for cover pop up and have a high speed rocket run on BTR. Load the rockets that are MK 5HE (last option on re arming menu) these are anti tank warheads. Just a few hits and BTR will go down easy. Then use AI gunners to spot soldiers while orbiting at 2500' then eliminate the rest of soldiers with either AI or when you get more practice user controlled door gun. Also take 50% fuel. More maneuverable, and that will last you about 2.5 hours of normal flight time  Good luck rotor brother
  23. Yeah if it needed 2 documents so we each could carry 1, and if it gets completed you get 50000 points! Yeah it was a really fun flight for no combat!
  24. Well today was our first attempt at the world record cross country, I would say it was semi-successful as we ran out of time to make it all the way to our last stop, but we were able to successfully land at kutasi. Journey started out a little rocky. C101 tried to land at krasnodar with no gear and the Hawk forgot to flare. So right off the bat we were delayed about 45 minmutes which is what prohibited us to finish all the way to batumi. However once we took off from Krasnodar on the way to Maykop things started to smooth out. The 3 ship was separated due to pilot error and the stranded Hawk ended up getting R27ERd to the face after becoming hypoxic and blacking out at 17,000'. Now we are down to a flight of 2, C101 and L39. Our next segment had us departing Maykop eastbound to Nalchik via Mineralyne VOR. However over the course of 140NM several surprises came upon us. Moderate ice was encountered and forced our 2 ship to climb rapidly at full military power. In the frantic climb the C101 forgot to switch fuel tanks and lost engine power. An airborne restart was attempted then failed due to fuel pump positioning. (pilot error) However the second re-light attempt was successful thanks to flight lead guiding the scared trainee through the procedures. Once the Engine was recovered the pitot static system iced over on the C101 and forced him into a dive to get out of the icing and find warmer temperatures. He eventually found his anti-ice switch and turned it on.... Rejoined with about 50NM to way point Nalchik beautiful screen shots were taken during the sunset flight and approach. We tuned in the ILS and did practice ILS landing. The next segment of flight had us crossing very rough high altitude terrain and dark was fast approaching. Hot refueling procedures at Nalchick and the 2 ship was off to brave the mountains. ***meanwhile mr hawk pilot has been on an intercept heading full military power to intercept our position*** We began flying up a small mountain valley below the cloud layer. Rapidly realizing the mountains are becoming obscured by low level clouds we begin a max power climb. Completely in instrument meteorological conditions and in high terrain at night...bad situation. Luckly the C101 broke through the top of the layer and frantically told flight lead to climb as fast as possible. Struggling to maintain airspeed as is I pitched up to brink of stall. Eclipsing the cloud layer I noticed we were heading straight for the tallest peak!:surrender: Clearing the side of the mountain by less than 50' crisis was averted and we re joined tight formation to capture a few more shots of the terrain above the clouds. *at this point the hawk is only 5 miles to intercept us! he pulls up to clear terrain, blacked out, stalled and ended up a smoking hole in the mountains north of Kutasi..RIP Cravgar:worthy: Server running short on time we max power fly to Kutasi and land successfully, however still about 60NM short of our original intended destination of Batumi...maybe next time.:pilotfly: For just a flight with no weapons it was still action packed and we were all exhausted after nearly 2+ hours of constant flight, refueling, instrument navigation, and system failures. Maybe next time we will leave a bit earlier:thumbup:
  25. Its not an endurance record, more of a point to point cross country with multiple stops and covering max distance N-S without travelling laterally or backtracking Still waiting on dispatch(mirknir) to release us tho....;)
