haha wow! lol ok well something is strange. I am very intrigued on this. I will consult some old manuals and see if i can dig anything up.
-
This is so strange, I'm sorry i can't help you guys, unfortunately i can't troubleshoot until tomorrow. It honestly sounds like it is struggling due to counter-turbine rotation due to wind. I am fully confident DCS has not modeled this tho lol, unless I'm completely wrong. Not to insult any of your intelligence but are you sure you keep holding down the starter? i do know its notably slower to spool up in this temperature. Perhaps try this: Battery on throttle twist lock to half, not low idle like normal Master fuel switch on Starter depress and hold for a LONG time even if it struggles at 10% for a few seconds

Do u have Huey sound mod installed? And if yes are you aware of known sound bug with it? If no, did you fly SA342 in same round and crash? The SA342 has known sound glitch as well, sound stays with you unless you disconnect.
-
Huh well now I'm really confused...so what is the light in the pic? a bug perhaps?
-
i didn't even know there was a taxi light! lol Where is the switch?

Exciting stuff!

So strange about the start doodenkoff I haven't had any problems with battery start. Are you sure it's fully stalled and just not really slow spool? Have you checked your VDC and amps during start to see if they are indicating normal? I will give this a shot tomorrow and report back. The battery has a limit of -40C. So it should still work. Wind IRL is restricted to 30kts for start plus gust factor but I cant imagine DCS simulating that now.
-
There is no APU in Huey lol Try this my rotorbrother I also want to emphasize the spool up time will be significantly longer than normal so be sure to hold the starter down until it has completely spoold up to 50%

Monday Tuesday Wednesday!

I feel like it always happens when you don't properly rotate (full aft stick at lift off)/proper trim according to gross weight for TO/extend nose (if necessary). All 3 of those factors if you miss one of them I feel like its some kind of weight or stress issue. Just my assumptions tho. When I do everything correctly, even with the heaviest load outs it doesn't happen. But missing just one of the 3 things seems to blow a tire and ADC. Would like to know for sure tho the actual/real cause and if it is a glitch or simulated properly

I think no matter what mirknir chooses to do there will always be a populous that is not happy with the outcome lol so in that regard lets just all thank Mirknir for even continuing to host such a great server in the first place. And as much as i hate being amrammed, I think the inhibiting of them is counter-DCS. It is a simulator after all, if an eagle can take 6 spamrams then it should be allowed to take 6. However Cosmics idea of maybe spawning all eagles at Guaddata with no amrams or just a 2, and forcing them to re arm at sochi/gelenz could be a viable solution. I think the russian counterpart to the 120C should be the same way

Or a change of weather....:) clear skies and no wind =

Couldn't agree more

And just to clairify my question wasn't meant to come across as disrespectful to shabi, I simply was just curious for his input as I know there was previous discussion on the best methods of slowing the quaking. Just curious if his play style would be different if limited lives were an option. No disrespect intended. And believe me I have had some pathetic disregards for my aircraft as well when I get kill hungry and tunnel vision lol it happens to most everyone. Expect maybe Mirknir who is definitely pro:thumbup:
-
Let me ask you this shabi, why yes your F15s TWS technology, powerful radar and ammram capacity is unrivaled in DCS, if you only had one server issued fighter life left, would you have pressed on and died? The video shows a good TWS launch no doubt(however let's be honest, is it that hard to put a TDC over a box and press enter?) but the blatant disregard for your own aircraft and life was quite pathetic as you continued to fly directly over a Sam site that was locking and launching on you. In the words of Charlie from Top Gun, "why the maneuver was a success, I think it's shown as an example of what not to do."

AH felt so good to get some DCS back in my life! A few randoms from landing on trains and helo parties with berts new mi8, and some F5/A10 strike missions.:pilotfly:
-
COSMICFREAKINGDUBLOOON!!!!! Seriously?! This was the beginning of our DCS life together with me trying to fly a saber into the depths of the original Kashuri conflict zone and you providing CAP in Mig 29! I'll have to try and find some of the original screenshots on my old HDD. I can honestly say I've never had an additional Sabre wingman EVER in the history of DCS. This would be a breakthrough. Merry Christmas! Can't wait for some missions in the new year!
-
Yeah man totally!
-
Helo party tomorrow?!

Gave up on trying to takeoff with the spitfire, went to the bread and butter with L39 and F5...although my F5 took some manpad damage lol:thumbup:
-
Been away from DCS for weeeeeks. Back on today felt so goood! However I am still quite a bit rusty. I love the manpad at incursion! Sneaky lil bugger. Pics to follow. Also the 31 slots are a nice addition as well. Ps I think it was mentioned already but just to +1, hope to see spitfire duel slots soon! Merry Christmas/happy holidays Mirknir

Sounds like a great idea! Maybe if you re request the mayday it then sequences to the next furthest player with a limit of 3 requests maybe? If your flying in a 3 ship you shouldn't really need additional assistance right?idk maybe not.
-
Lol Jdarksword always looking for that perfect screen shot
-
If only I could fit this in my garage and hook it up to Open Conflict..I think this how DCS should be played lol

I can understand the hot start limited fuel weapon and cold start no fuel, but I would personally caution a hot start in air like cosmic said because it does take a lot less time to get to Mach 1 at altitude and 270kts. You have to consider your players in the zone too, a helo party on a deep strike mission shoots down f15 with Mistral, if player just selects air start he can be right back on top of those helos in no time! And even with his "limited" weapons, they are still more than enough for a strike against inferior aircraft. Where as if he has to restart re fuel they have time to breathe and celebrate /brag :) shooting down F15 with helo. I think if players honestly don't want to play just because they have to refuel their jets after being killed they shouldn't be playing a simulator in the first place
