  1. According to this thread in the Mission Builders section, the answer is unfortunately no. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=181272
  2. Ah, the "two more weeks" transcends game boundaries and is a universal constant lol. Yup, I don't want to reinvent the wheel, or waste time struggling with things which don't work right now. One of the benefits with CLOD is its stability, no TF patches for 3 years means plenty of time to fix your own mistakes and get things working but the downside is the core bugs never get addressed. Here we have the reverse. Still, a change is as good as a rest. I shall try to find a suitable mentor. Fancy volunteering? ? :D
  3. That is ....disappointing. Even ARMA has this. Is there an official place to lobby for functionality to be included on the road map?
  4. Cheers guys. I figured as much, although many of those items were target objects which were needed, while with DCS the base map buildings and such can be used as targets as I understand and are visable via script, so less of a need for sure. We also allowed airfields to be customized in layout and "window dressing" which added to the load, but again the stock DCS environment is more consistently populated than the CLOD map. @feefifofum - no, me either. Although in fairness I wrote an app which took template files and imported them into the database which held all the data for the campaign so the work was spread around and it wasn't all done in one hit by one person .
  5. This is a good thread for noob's like me. Thanks. I'm coming from IL2 Cliffs of Dover where our MP server had around 8000 static objects (Inc probably 1k AA guns) and dynamic AI raids of around 20 aircraft at a time which was pretty stable even with 80 players. I take it that level is way out of scope for DCS.
  6. Thanks. I appreciate the replies. We are just starting out on a journey with DCS that you guys have trodden already, but it's hard picking from the forum and search the threads which still have relevance and work. From what I'm seeing it does look like ED place MP, mission editing and "environment" down the priority scale but we shall see how it pans out.
  7. How long does it normally take for fixes from ED for stuff that appears an accidental change or unforeseen consequence? I'd like to look at this script but not much point if it doesn't work with the current stable release version.
  8. Apologies if this is very obvious or answered else where. Is there a way of turning off all, or part, of the electrical grid. It seems somewhat odd to be flying over hostile towns and airfields lit up like Christmas trees.
  9. I find it very odd that despite acknowledging that individual guns *could* technically be adjusted individually, there is a move to say such a thing is "unrealistic" and "ahistorical". Well guess what? We are playing a game. At the moment we are playing with an ahistorical unrepresentative planeset. On a modern map. With no fear of death. The anachronisms are everywhere. Ok, so the guns were set by doctrine. Jolly good. Who's? Spit IX was used by a number of air forces. They didn't all just use the same belting and convergence. There were probably other doctrinal rules too, like not flying with the cockpit open, or not doing barrel roles over airfields. Why the hell aren't they represented and enforced? I totally do not understand the developer stance on this. Seems like they've made a line in the sand and refuse to vary their approach regardless. And what everyone else is so bloody worried about I don't know, the damage model right now doesn't seem to give twould hoots what you get hit by..... Give server operators the ability to tie specific ammo loads or round availability and you add another layer of complexity and option to the mission makers arsenal.
  10. OK. So it seems that the info you gave is incorrect. Purchasing quantity two of the same module not only does not increase the bonus to 25%, but means that I only received 10% bonus and essentially has cost me $10 to buy the modules I wanted. This means the most economical way of buying multiple quantities of the module is one at a time, one after the other...
  11. Cool. Thanks. I wasn't clear if 1 module twice counted as two products or just one.
  12. Cheers sir!. So if I buy 2 sabres in one transaction I can get $25 bonus, which I can apply wholly to a third sabre module?
  13. I'm looking at buying a number of sabre licenses for some friends as I've had a bit of a windfall and want to treat them.. 1) if I already own a module, how do I buy gift versions as the shop knows I've bought that product. 2) is there a "bulk buy" option? 3) What is the most cost effective way of buying licenses? (Presumably I can gain and use bonus $ if I do it in a certain order?) Thanks.
  14. That is possibly the most asinine post I've seen here. By that logic, surely we are at full and final release, because ED would never release a beta product nor one that every single facet hasn't had "careful consideration". However the facts speak for themselves. This IS an issue. End of.
  15. You mean the guide thats in this very thread? I'd never have thought of that!
  16. As someone who's coming into DCS new, the information for this sort of stuff is extremely sparse and it would certainly be appreciated if those who know how do do stuff could share with those who want to learn.
  17. Yes, that video is pretty compelling this is a bug. This is my biggest issue with the Spitfire. Last night it happened twice in two successive sorties, both times resulting in a fiery explosion. In one of them, I was in a tight right hand turn with the progressive blackout coming in, and I relaxed the turn and BAM!, blacked out. Utterly ridiculous. I then complained about it in the chat on the server and was told that it was fine and doesn't happen to other people who fly "smoothly". I wonder if it's connected to device set up and models? Having said that, most of my squadron has experienced this at some point or other.
  18. Well I lost two wings in what I would consider normal combat manoeuvre situations this evening so yes, I think there is a problem in this regard.
  19. Hi, I just got around to updating my install, and all my keys are gone. I look in the web front end, and they're all now activated by the email address that I bought them from back in April. How is that possible if they were activated in my account?
