Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 9
CrashO replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
Neither does blue... for the SNAFU from your screen, only 2 people where responsible. Raptor (A10c) and me (Huey). We cleaned out the entire pack 1 in 2 hours (I finished capturing Anapa at the end of the session, in the Huey I spawned from Krasnaya, north of Sochi...). People only started joining in after the server restart, when the entire coast was already blue. Exactly the same as happens on the red team. Every evening blue grabs stuff, and every morning when I check, they lost it again while seeing Variac and maybe one or two others on making a massive push back. -

Same reason blue doesn't have the MI-8? -

Multiple reasons. Usually, -non response, -unknown player (nor I or any of the other blues recognizing them). Starting from the last few weeks, now gadget has the stats. Checking them in gadget to see if they have a history in there. (e.g., are they gci only players or do they have some actual flights and/or kills). -matching ping to a player on the red team -sitting on gci for prolonged periods -not sitting in any voice communication (no SRS and no TS). If a guy fits all of those, such as was the case with all of them. I consider them to be moles. If I can get any actual evidence, i'll report them. Such as the case with this last one. The last one even proved it by sitting there for a long time, yet, 2 seconds (just checked it in the video) after I accused him of doing it. The gci account disconnected. -

And just caught the third red guy in a week, sitting in blue GCI with one account ,while flying on red in the other one... We really need a way to remove those people from the server. (I got the last one fully on video, including matching pings, connections and me having a conversation with him on TS where he was denying the whole thing, yet seeing the GCI log-off in-game seconds later. Would it help you Ciri (or Xcom) if I send you the video in DM? Don't want to smear him in this thread, so would like to keep it in DM. But it's a regular player with >100 sorties, according to gadget. -

http://gadget.buddyspike.net/ The app is outdated for the current test version. Gadget is up2date -
This is (and always has been) the case with major updates since DCS went from 1.2 to 1.5. Only minor updates (like from 1.5.6.4818 to 1.5.6.5199) are compatible with each other, server wise.

And auto-kick if GCI doesn't get on GCI freq in SRS. To avoid people using it for AFK.. (something they do) -

Not a clue what guy you're talking about, But I just assume you got a screenshot for the rest of the class to share? The one and only reason we pushed so far back yesterday, is that we had enough teamplayers online to push. (RvE can do the same when they are on a team). In this case, a bunch of Reapers and Matko (and some others). Because most of the time blue is populated with free for all Batumi flyers doing formation laps in northern Turkey. There was no one feeding us sneaky intel from gci... Not to me (I dropped the troops myself at 2 airfields, 1 farp and 3 Sam sites, while Reaper 21 was shacking everything in his A-10.. without us having a mole inserted into red. Most of our sorties are on youtube after after flight, so I dare you to find evidence of your accusation. And I am all for a global GCI ban, but then no more private GCI. e.g. Datalink for red either.. Mr Redfor. -

Better to keep Anapa and remove something else. The map is already small as it is, removing the NorthWestern most base would be a waste :D Take out Krymsk and Nalchik for Red And Tbilisi (or Vaziani) and Kobuleti for Blue. Get some space in there between bases, while reducing the unit count. -
No, you can enable in Windows that you hear, all sounds coming in your mic. But not (only) when you hold PTT. It's either all or nothing :D

Wasn't Leatherneck/Heatblur already working on this at one point? It's still in the list of stuff to be included with the F-14. And from one of the Q&A's with Cobra

A bit less attitude? For someone who made over 50 posts shitting and spitting on the Mirage, just to end up with "I won't buy the Mirage unless Razbam do this" demands, and then to start attacking people who take notice, just seems a bit...

This  Teamspeak for pre-flight stuff and general banter. And SimpleRadio for flight comms.

Isn't that how things always work in the world? As a minority you scream and complain about anything and everything being unfair and unequal. And when the minority becomes the majority. You tell the previous majority that now is the new minority to shut up and take it, and still complain about everything. :D -

With 2 lives per 6 hours for fighters. It would be a matter of dragging and bagging them before moving in. It's not endless. Hard, yes. Impossibruu, shouldn't be. Might have to reevaluate the lives per group when fighters get their toys, but to me 2 for those with 120C/ET/ER vs 4 for interceptors seems fair (or maybe 3-5) -

You're mixing reactions on my proposed changes, to reactions on the current scenario. The change from all-bases to only-home bases, was for the scenario where BVR bases with all toys are given to F-15's and flankers, and the mirage would get spawns at every base (together with the other interceptors). And while the mirage currently is available at home bases only, it's not available at every one. If Gudata is lost, you still have to fly 80nm from the closest spawn because they are not at Sukhumi. Which works for know, but is going to be a problem when we have spamraam's flying around. My goal was to make it more layered. Have BVR aircraft with heavy AA flying around from the back,. with limited lives. Have Interceptors (mirage,21, F5) with more lives, close to the front. And with the new change, have the 21 and F-5 even closer to the active front, by having them spawn at captured based. All without limiting aircraft's capabilities by messing with fuel, alignments or load-outs. In case of the blue team: The 2 satellite-airfields where M2000C can spawn (when captured), are to add something stronger then the F-5 closer to hostile territory. I just picked these airfields at random, as long as they are in the back of red space. Might also be a option to take for example "Anapa" as the Mirage spawn base (RED's main BVR base). Creating a tactical option of pushing up the coast first to get it (so you can spawn mirages), before pushing Krymsk, Kras and Maykop). Or even allowing to re-arm the BVR fighters there if you have captured it. Seeing as it's red's main base, with heavy AA fighters and lying deep into red territory. It's going to take a huge push to get to it, but with a big reward looming. -

You could limit the Mirages a little bit, by changing the spawning everywhere to just the "home bases". And have the F-5 and 21 spawn from any of the captured bases. To give a small edge to them. Pretty much how it was in the last round. Just with some more home spawns for the mirage. (or make the mirage available at limited "captured bases". So not at every one of them, but for example 1 in each corner. So something like Mozdok and Krasnodar on the red side, and Vaziani and Senaki on the blue. And populate all other captured airfields with F-5's and Mig-21's. -

Well, I used it as a umbrella for all the long range stuff. Seeing the ET is used for BVR (and is RED's favorite toy) but is not ARH. :D But I think everyone gets it, regardless of the label being used. -

Had some more thinking about the Full-weapons concept. Wouldn't it be a idea if Anapa & Batumi would become BVR bases. With Flankers and F-15's, sitting cold, with 100% fuel and the option to load up any weapon they want (including 120c's and ER/ET). And them having the option to re-arm those weapons on any of the bases the coalition owns on mission start (so everything north of the mountains for red, south for blue). But limit the weapons at captured bases to the current 80s loadouts. So people can fly them when they want, with all weapons. But when pushing deep, they have to fly back a bit to get the weapons again, or they can re-arm close-by on captured Airbases, but would have to settle with the weapons we currently have in BF. And decrease the lives to 2 (or keep them on 3. depending on how it would play out). Then move the M2000C to the interceptor group and increase the lives to 4. And have all the interceptors fueled and armed, sitting on the apron (cold, but aligned) at every base. If you look at a map with 150nm circles from those bases. You can see they cover most of the area for defense. And everyone has to fly a bit to push forward. It's just the stuff in the east that falls out. Perhaps 2 BVR slots at Minvody/Vaziani? This avoids all the removing of aircraft features there is currently. And doesn't leave the option to pump fuel from bags for faster fueling times, or raising your gear to do so.. etc. Everyone has to fly. And the deeper a team is pushing, the closer defending BVR cap is. Making it harder to clean-out the entire map, yet giving plenty of stuff to do in the middle. And is also a bit more futureproof for when more airframes start to land. Having F-14's and F-18's fly arround using just Aim-9's seems strange. This way people who want to fly BVR can do so, at the cost of spending extra time in the air. If their pushing, they have to RTB to the homefront to get their BVR weapons again, if they stay and re-arm locally, they get the same type of weapons the interceptors have. -

Well, if you want to look at actual back-seats, The -M has one of those too :D I'd be all for giving M + Mistral troops, and the -L bombers. If backseat is a requirement :D -

CrashO replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
Because they could call bombers... You could solo a farp in them. I don't get the fuzz over giving the gazelle-L troops, seeing they already lost the bomber function. And even when they had the function in the past, it was still a weighing of pro-cons every time I (and others) hopped into one. Seeing as it only does about 90kts. And the Huey with overheating currently not modeled, easily does 140. So if there was any CAS available, I would just grab the Huey as it would be way faster then spending 1.5 times the amount of time flying over to a farp, and then calling in the bomber and waiting even more. (a solo cleanup of MM59 from the MM05 Farp took a little over an hour that way), coordinated with Raptor spooling in a A-10 from Tbilisi and me spooling a Huey at the same time, we could fly over to, clean out, and capture it in 20 minutes... Having the Gazelle-L solely serve the same role the P51 has, doesn't make any sense. No one will fly it. And having one type of helicopter for troops also limits the amount of people able to move them around. For those who don't own the gazelle and don't know what the different models have/can do: Gazelle M: Military version, Can fire 4 guided HOT3 Antitank missiles, controlled by a (IR) Camera system with laser. Gazelle L: Militarized civilian version, weaker engine then the M. Can fire 8 unguided rockets + 240, 20mm rounds Gazelle Mistral: Militarized civilian version, can fire 4 air-to-air missiles (fox-2) All three versions don't share any weapons between them (except for a sand-filter and IR filter for the exhaust), and the M has a different panel layout in the cockpit, from the other 2 models. The L and Mistral also don't have the IR camera, but a weaker "useless" camera with more limited range. And no laser. So having the L being a dedicated box-mover without troops, doesn't make sense. Because no-one is going to use it just for it's 8 unguided lawndarts and 240 bullets..
