Check this thread Sounds like some people are having problems with ATI cards and some versions of the Cat drivers.

Not sure why, but the target convoy on the road in the mission Push 9-2 (Georgian Hammer campaign) does not show up as objects in the .acmi file.
-
One main thing to know about this campaign is that: 1) You get 50 points for just starting the mission. 2) You get 1 point for landing back at base 3) You will proceed to the next mission if you get 51 points. All of the other points available in the mission is based on delaying the forces. Problem is that the points will not be added unless you delay the troops for a certain amount of time after the start of the mission. This means you have to be within the mission for around 70 minutes to see any extra points to show up and the points will max out at around 90 minutes. If you fly your mission and expend your ordinance and fly immediately back home and land, you should have a minimum of 51 points (hit the ' key to mission status), and you can quit the mission and be able to go to the next mission. If you want to see if the troops were delayed, after you land you can sit in the cockpit (or change views to see what is going on elsewhere). Hit ctrl+z to speed up time (shift+z to go to normal time), to speed things up till the mission time is > 90minutes, and then hit the ' key to see if any additional points were added.

Glad that it is ultra rare :) When it didn't load I peeked into the file and decided to see what was different why one .acmi file loaded, but another didn't. Was interested in seeing the .acmi also because for some reason in my debrief, I didn't see what caused my right wing to be blown off and forced me to eject. Thought I may have fragged myself with a cluster bomb, but the .acmi showed it was tank fire that did the deed. This mission came after I had been merged with 2 MiG-29s and took a missle hit. I didn't even look through the debrief because I knew I had Tacview to get the same info :). Turns out it wasn't the MiGs that did the damage, it was friendly fire from some F-16s that sent a slammer into my side!

I just wanted to add something. In a previous thread, one of them about Wags' Flight Management video. Wags stated if you don't have your SPI broadcasting when you task your wingman to "Engage with", that the AI will default back to the default "Engage" logic. Because changing your NetID will theoretically cause your AI not to be able to see your SPI being broadcast (I honestly don't know if this is true or not though), it is possible that any "Engage with" commands to the AI will result in them using the default "Engage" logic. I have gotten into the habit of after takeoff noting what my NetID is when I start. Change it to 01 when calling into JTAC and getting the datalink target. I then change it back to the original NetID, just in case....before I order my wingman to do anything with an SPI attack. Hopefully in the next patch the datalink stuff will totally get sorted out so I won't have to wonder anymore :)

Been playing around way too much with this :). Apparently the Su-24 jettisoned weapons after being fired upon by a Blue CAP flight. For some reason it appears that the program does not like having two objects being so close together at the same place and time! I was able to get the .acmi to load if I did the following with the jettison event quoted above....I placed a slight time delay in the file to get the following: #1002.40 +1f700,?,40,1,?,Kh-29T (AS-14 Kedge),,?,? 1f700,6.096472,4.957169,3024.51,0.0,0.0,5.9 +1f900,?,4c,0,ru,RBK-250,,?,? 1f900,6.096454,4.957164,3025.75,-61.5,-35.7,123.3 #1002.41 +1f800,?,4c,0,ru,RBK-500AO,,?,? 1f800,6.096461,4.957155,3025.93,-61.5,-35.7,123.3 The other Su-24 also jettisoned ordinance at time point #1270.94. I also had to split up that group to get the entire .acmi to load. This is what I changed it to: #1270.94 +33600,?,40,1,?,Kh-29T (AS-14 Kedge),,?,? 33600,6.009663,5.125368,3484.89,0.0,0.0,6.0 +33800,?,4c,0,ru,RBK-250,,?,? 33800,6.009657,5.125381,3486.89,-96.2,-29.4,90.1 #1270.95 +33a00,?,4c,0,ru,RBK-500AO,,?,? 33a00,6.009657,5.125373,3487.78,-96.2,-29.4,90.1 +33b00,?,40,1,?,Kh-29T (AS-14 Kedge),,?,? 33b00,6.009668,5.125393,3488.64,0.0,0.0,6.0 +33700,?,4c,0,ru,RBK-500AO,,?,? 33700,6.009656,5.125368,3486.94,-96.2,-29.4,90.1 #1270.96 +33900,?,4c,0,ru,RBK-250,,?,? 33900,6.009658,5.125410,3485.54,-96.2,-29.4,90.1 When I made the two edits above, the .acmi loaded properly. One other thing to note: Not sure if it is a tacview problem or it has to do with the sim, but the Kh-29T is being recorded as BLUE object instead of a RED object.

Was trying to load up an .acmi file tonight and it was hanging the program. I have narrowed down what was causing it. Looks like a SU-24 dropped some bombs, but the tacview recording has the bombs being dropped + a Kh-29T that shouldnt have been dropped. I opened up the tacview file and kept deleting entries until it opened correctly :) Here is a .zip file that contains both the whole .acmi file plus the debrief.log from the DCS Temp files. The first time it pops up is at the reference time in tacview of #1002.40 If I delete line 301152 (and everything afterwards), it loads fine. If I include that line tacview hangs when I try to load the file . In the .log file the corresponding time is T=43602.390 Here are the offending entries: #1002.40 +1f700,?,40,1,?,Kh-29T (AS-14 Kedge),,?,? 1f700,6.096472,4.957169,3024.51,0.0,0.0,5.9 +1f900,?,4c,0,ru,RBK-250,,?,? 1f900,6.096454,4.957164,3025.75,-61.5,-35.7,123.3 +1f800,?,4c,0,ru,RBK-500AO,,?,? 1f800,6.096461,4.957155,3025.93,-61.5,-35.7,123.3

Was just trying to go through the Push 4-1 campaign mission. Has East and West JTAC, but when I got close to my IP, I pulled up the radio to contact The East JTAC, and only the West JTAC was listed. I quit and then looked at the mission in the mission editor and it appears that the Invisible tag for both JTACs had Invisible (nil), instead of Invisible (true). Loaded up that aborted mission in Tacview and I could see that at the beginning of the mission that JTAC was not invisible to the enemy and the JTAC was shelled and killed by Red artillery.

IIRC, there is a bug where somehow the tires get "stuck" in the runway and it tears off the landing gear. It has happened to me on my nosewheel once or twice.

How about this. You slew the TGP to your target and get it all lined up, in a hurry you then switch to HUD as SOI (coolie hat forward) so you can change you weapon to Mav, (before or after you switch to the MAVs) while HUD is as SOI you hit TMS up long (You may have forgotten to set as SPI and then remembered to do so after you had switched to the HUD). This sets SPI wherever the HUD cursor and when you hit china hat forward the TGP slews to the HUD cursor.... I find it very easy to forget where I have SOI set. I can be looking straight at the TGP and totally ignore the NOT SOI warning. It's possible that you had set SPI in the TGP, then switched to HUD, or maybe the MAV as SOI and then hit TMS forward long where it would Then set the SPI where the HUD cursor or the Mav is pointing....then china hat forward slews it off to some other point. I try my best whenever targetting with the TGP to do TMS up short, TMS up short, TMS up long in succession to to area mode/point mode/set as SPI, so I dont forget to do so and then not hit TMS forward long again until I finish weapon delivery. It may be difficult to tell just exactly what you were doing short of posting a .trk file so someone can look at it.

I was playing a mission last night and I had sent the wingman in to attack some targets. I heard him do "SAM launch, engaged defensive". He survived. A bit later I ordered him to attack tanks at my SPI, he replied "Copy" started his run and then would "rejoin" without firing anything. This happened several times until I thought.....hrmmm maybe he doesnt have any weapons. F2 to his plane and yup, he had jettisoned stores. Question: If wingie goes "engaged defensive" does he ALWAYS jettison his stores? Just wondering for future reference if I hear him say that then he will probably have no weapons. I know that this is probably something for a wish list, but I would like a command to get the wingies to tell me what ordinance they have left. It is hard to remember with say a 4 ship flight....who has what left....or if he jettisoned weapons. Don't want to have to do the F2 thingy to see what they have left.

User error. #1) forgot which folder I had it set to save the files and #2) tried to do a search for .acmi and came up with nothing.....but they were there. Havent totally figured out windows 7 yet :P

Nice to know. I made a test mission last night with 4 different groups of T-80s with each group ~ 5 miles apart and the wingie attacked the correct group each and every time.....then I realized that the what you posted in 2 above was probably the reason. as for what you said in #1, does the AI revert to standard engage logic if you have a different Group NetID? Reason why I ask is because of the datalink bug concerning JTAC targetting, I think I sometimes forget to change the Ownship/Group ID back to the correct numbers after receiving the target from JTAC. This also may explain some of my wingman behavior that I am seeing if I assign him to attack my SPI, but he defaults to the standard engage logic because our NetIDs are different.

Did the patch break the acmi exporting in DCS:A-10? I have ran a couple of missions and it doesn't seem to have worked with the exporting.

Matt, if you are still peeking in on this thread I have some questions for ya about wingman commands and target management. #1) I looked at both of the tracks you posted above and also looked at the latest video you posted on YT. The first thing that jumped out to me that you did in the video but DID NOT do in the .trks is that you broadcasted your SPI in the video but did not in the .trks you posted. How is your wingman getting your SPI if you arent broadcasting it? Or in the .trks was the wingman just targeting the closest armor that he can find? #2) To follow up on the end of 1 above, just how far will your wingman search around your SPI for targets to attack? I ask this because in the first .trk you posted, you had something like 20 tanks. When you marked SPI, and instructed your wingman to attack, you marked it on the farthest target on the left. You then changed to like the 4th tank in and then attacked that one on your own. When your wingman attacked he ended up targeting what looks like the last 4 tanks on the RIGHT, which were probably about 1-2 miles away from the point where you had your SPI when you ordered your wingman to attack. I also ask this because in the Devil's cross first mission, you have two targets, JTAC tasks you to attack tanks on say the Western Column. During push from the IP, I found the right tank columns and then set my TGP to the shilkas that were guarding the column. I ordered the wingman to attack AAA at SPI with Mavs, and he promptly went after the AAA guarding the OTHEr column which was at least 5+ miles away from my SPI. At the time and during the wingman's ingress, the AAA was closer to him so I am wondering if the marking with the SPI is working the way it should or are the wingmen going after the closest targets they can find to attack.

CAS-1 still crashes to ground in first Devil's Cross mission
zamboni replied to zamboni's topic in Mission and Campaigns
I had previously been able to get the CAS 1 flight to avoid crashing into the ground, but I never knew why it crashed into the ground to begin with. I now have figured out why. With the original mission from the release version the CAS 1 flight would crash into the ground, but if you opened it up in the mission editor, everything looked like it SHOULD work. A couple of times I tried changing the elevation and saved and tested the mission, it still crashed into the ground. I also deleted the orbit task and redid it for the waypoint putting in the same data and it DID work. I finally got around to unzipping the mission files and compared one that worked with the one that didn't work. Here why the flight runs into the ground. In the original version & in the version with the patch there is information missing in the Orbit task for waypoint 4. Here is what is included in the Orbit task: [1] = { enabled = true, auto = false, id = "ControlledTask", valid = true, number = 1, params = { task = { id = "Orbit", params = { pattern = "Circle", }, -- end of params }, -- end of task stopCondition = { userFlag = "14", }, -- end of stopCondition }, -- end of params }, -- end of [1] Compare it to what it looks like if you delete the orbit task and put it back in with the same parameters: [1] = { enabled = true, auto = false, id = "Orbit", valid = true, number = 1, params = { altitude = 800, pattern = "Circle", speed = 116.66666666667, }, -- end of params }, -- end of [1] The original is missing both the speed and altitude parameters, so when the plane starts to orbit it says "Whoops I have no speed nor altitude, I'm going to fall out of the sky now!" I have a feeling that this happened due to a bug in the mission builder version that this mission was originally made with. That bug eventually got quashed, but even if you open up a mission with a current version of the mission builder and save it, this glitch still gets passed on unless you delete and redo the task. This really isn't a big thing because it only effects old missions that were broke. New missions made with a current patched version will probably be ok, but it at least put my mind to rest on why I had some problems trying to figure out what was going on in that first DC mission. -
Like the changes you did for the campaign, but want to point out that it appears that CAS1 still crashes into the ground when they reach their orbit waypoint. I didn't load up the trk and watch it happen, but I noticed in the debrief log that they both crashed at the same point in the mission when it happened before.

No use starting another thread about JTAC messages. Finished the first mission on the Devil's cross campaign and I've noticed (I'm using the easy communications) that sometimes I have to send a message to them more than once to get it recognized (sometimes it happens with ATC)....I have a hard time getting JTAC to give me a BDA assessment also. Attacked is a trk file of the mission.

No mention of MP datalink fixes in 1.1.0.7 changelog?
zamboni replied to Bahger's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Thanks for pointing this out....wasn't sure if it was supposed to be fixed in the patch or a later one. Didn't want to post a thread for something that didn't get fixed ;) -
Was going to ask the same thing.... Should the volume on the ILS panel change the volume for the beeper/beacons or is this a bug? I havent tried the button on the left side panel (only did one mission so far :). Request.....can change the ILS button to get a right/left mouse click and drag to change the .XX frequency and have the mouse wheel scroll the volume? It takes a heck of a lot of mouse scrolling to get to the right ILS frequency the way it is now.

downloading it now as I type....have to leave for work in 5 min 790MB patch....those who know urls can figure it out :)

Shouldn't this post be made to Twitter and not ED? :)

Cedaway/RIPTIDE - the http://www.f-10c.com just was doing a redirect to the main DCS website. The stuff that google was caching was the same stuff that is on the DCS site the 2011 copyright I believe has nothing to do with the f-18 stuff, but what is currently on the DCS site now :)
-
Whelp, looks like the new domain names are now included in the reverse whois lookup and guess what... looks like a-10c.com and f-18c.com ARE THE ONLY ONES THAT WERE ADDED :) btw http://www.f-18c.com IS redirecting me back to the DCS front page.....it may be because it is in-between a DNS update or something that hasn't propagated properly.

I only have 2 pages :) You can change the number of posts per page in your user control panel ;) I think it is like 100 posts per page for me.
