I logged a ticket last night, and subsequently received a reply that has helped me fix the issue. Deleted (actually, moved out of the folder) the input mappings in my %userprofile%\Saved Games\DCS.openalpha\Config\Input Went into settings and attempted to map the JOY_BTN1 to a function on the AV-8B ... it was detected fine. I could have then set up all my controls again, but instead I just imported the settings I copied out of the folder previously. Obviously it overwrote the JOY_BTN1 I just mapped, but I simply re-mapped it again and it was still detected correctly. johnv2pt0 - you might want to try that with your pinky switch.

And for info, you can either download the beta to a separate install, or use the dcs_updater.exe from a command line to switch from stable to 1.5.8 (see this thread).

Ok I'll use an alternative for now then. So strange that it's just this button, and just in 2.2. I've raised a ticket so see if ED can provide some insight. I appreciate you taking the time to test. Thank you.

Oh, right. So just to confirm, in DCS 2.2 (alpha) pushing the button I've highlighted in green is working for you, for any module?

Hi I use my Warthog Throttle mouse ball button (JOY_BTN1) for as my cage/uncage button on the AV-8B. It's working fine in beta. But in alpha the button press is not detected at all. Everything else maps fine, except that one button. Can anyone advise what could be the issue here? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Bingo! (not the fuel type) That's what I'd overlooked. Working fine now (with nested folders). Thanks for the tip.

Whilst I do appreciate you taking the time to post and help, but I would respectfully point out that - as stated in my OP - I did search. Searching does not equate to finding, hence my call for help on the forums. I didn't see anything in my search results pertaining to not nesting the folders. I'll give that a go, but how does that work with multiple skins then? Each with their own description.lua? Thanks again for advice.

Simple question! I have some RAF/RN skins I'd like to use. I've searched the forums and it seems there's 2 methods of installing skins. But .. I've tried copying the folders in the skin zips to: Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Bazar\Liveries\AV8BNA and nothing appears to select in game So I tried installing to: Users\<me>\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Liveries\AV8BNA and nothing appears to select in game Clearly I'm doing something incorrectly. Would love to know how you're achieving that because I can't get anything in DCS to look good in VR (Vive). So if you can offer any advice on settings you're using I'd be grateful of a PM if you don't mind? But the Harrier .... wow, I love it! I expected certain things of Razbam and boy have they delivered! By far the best module I've bought (and I have almost all of them). Really looking forward to future updates. And maybe a much bigger carrier so I can actually land on one!

Pretty sure the Super Etandard carried the Exocet. The Argentines didn't have many of them as they hadn't all been delivered/integrated with their aircraft systems.

Working fine now on Warthog after mapping "HOTAS\Throttle Cutoff" to JOY_BTN30 (i.e. behind the detent).

I'm having the engine die on me too when I drop the Warthog throttle. I've deposited over 10 AV8's on the seabed outside Batumi since yesterday. Will muck about with that idle cutoff and see what that does ..

@ED I'm moving later next year and expect to be without internet connectivity for 4-6 months until the village actually gets a connection. Possibly longer. I understand there is a possibility other modules will migrate to this new DRM solution. Having spent over £700 on DCS modules (and much more on related hardware) please confirm that I will still be able to enjoy them during my time away from civilisation. Thanks.

Well, this issue - and also missing tail and crash sound bug - are still present in 1.5.7. But 1.5.7 hasn't been updated yet with these bug fixes, has it?
