Great patch! Still a few minor issues (ATC still has OCD, AI can't taxi for sh*t, net ID still sometimes resets after takeoff) but on the whole it's much smoother. Thanks for your efforts!

The dedicated server news is great, and it would be fair to assume that it will be a non-gfx console of some sort (that would be the most sensible approach). I only hope it has Starforce removed too, otherwise hosting from a virtrual server will be out of the question. Then again, I can't imagine the benefit of Starforcing a dedi server binary so hopefully the point is moot.

Regarding custom skins, one possibility would be to have 'community skin packs'. The Rise of Flight team use this approach (link), so if anyone wants to see the skins, they can download and apply the packs. Not too difficult to manage (whether hosted here or elsewhere) but would need someone to take responsibility for it.

It was a 'suggestion'. It might very well not work for ED even though it works for another producer. Suitable mechanisms would need to be in place to ensure this would not be abused, but that would be something for the developer (having the technical knowledge of their product) to establish whether it could work or not, and not a mere forum moderator. But obviously, what's good for one company is not necessarily good for another. I appreciate that.

I understand you weren't quoting anyone directly. I suppose another way of wording my question would be "are you interpreting from other's posts something which is not necessarily inferred?". I'm sure most of us here are financially secure enough to purchase the sim many times over. I merely suggest an approach that ED may wish to consider. And thanks for the grammar and punctuation tip. Who are you quoting there? I can't find any post saying the cost of another license is 'unbearably expensive'.

Perhaps ED would consider complimentary licenses for servers, rather than forcing people to buy an additional license. The developers of Rise of Flight did that, which was a great help. Then again, they also released a dedicated server binary.

I've played this mission several times now, and experienced no issues finding that target. Are you sure you got the coordinates correctly enterered?

This is strange. I've hosted this mission with several players. No issues whatsoever.

Instead of the sarcasm, why don't you try the User Files -> Downloads section. It ain't hard. Nice missions Cougar. Especially liked Night River Raider. The SA-11 BUK site was a real menace. Operation Arhipo is a bit of a challenge, since only the host could refuel at the tanker. Looooong flight into action too, but not a problem. Thanks for the missions.

Thanks for your post! I often struggle viewing the radios when using TrackIR. Is it possible to save views, and then shortcut to them? Alternatively, I guess I could try a G15 keyboard macro.

Don't uninstall. Just patch over existing Beta 1 or you'll get an error (see thumbnail). Looking forward to trying this when I get home :D

Hi all. I want to get a public server up. At present, I run one from a machine on a spare broadband connection I have, but UK broadband speeds as they are, when we get more than 6 or 7 players on, we get warping etc. I've spoken to the provider who I have other servers with (I have a dedicated windows box for other things such as BF2). Unfortunately, they can't provide me with a server suitable for Lomac, as their boxes don't have gfx cards capable of running the game, and of course there's no dedicated binaries for Lomac. Can anyone here suggest a host who may be able to provide a server suitable for hosting Lomac? Ideally EU or East Coast US based! Thanks in advance.
