  4. Now i get what you mean. Probably because we are facing the latest german variants while getting slightly older occidental versions. This of course will make it more challenging.
  5. Don't care about "game play balance", I want to fly historical planes. On online servers also you will rarely fly as they were flown in real life, not to mention that not everyone flying is an experienced pilot and regardless it will always be better against humans because the AI is really bad. The way to make ww2 servers fun will be when we have a variety of things to do like escorting bombers and such. If you think about air quake of course you will find the bf109 dominating but that's because it's arguably better.

  7. You shouldn't read Wags post as that imo, i think it simply clears out the possibility, but it would be a stupid decision to compete between each other in a super niche market as DCS is. Also it is a dick move to do so. There are very few third parties this is not like in FSX/P3D. You have a fixed framework that is integrated on a common version for everyone regardless if you have or not the same thing. Wasting time and money developing the same product would only hurt DCS because then, people would complain because X model is better. Different devs for different versions of the plane? That could be a possibility. But i don't see it either because having already a big part of the work done is less money you put down the road in terms of development.

  9. So, bad intel risking planes. In the first Gulf War the A-10s took down a good number of anti air defences. When it was designed, it was supposed that all the A-10 fleet would be lost in a few weeks of combat. It proved to be much more worthy and since then, it's not like you are tossing the Warthog as a bait. Tunguskas, manpads, okay. But long range AAA? No way. That's why you got Growlers, HARMs etc.

  13. I have refueled just fine, one tank straight from 20% to 100% and did not really notice a big input or anything strange. I will keep trying, though. But what i noticed is that before the patch, the tanker did no longer accelerate when advanced waypoint options were set. This is no longer true. I will keep investigating because it's a tad annoying though. I can't attach the track since it had a black screen forcing me to restart after it, will try again. Anyone else gets a ton of "refuel start/refuel stop" events when refueling the mirage? i don't mean actual connects/disconnects from the drogue, just random events that don't make sense.
  14. Well, this might be a minor quality of life thing. But I mostly play from the editor, and when testing quick stuff, sometimes i forget to select the Player option and start an empty mission, having to return. A small alert like that would be pretty cool to have.
  15. I will jump on the cockpit again just to make sure, but, are you having FBW limiter set to CHARGES? With the advanced waypoint options it never runs like it used to be and now i can refuel in one or two contacts which is pretty nice. Always with FBW on Charges because its how it is supposed to be though.

  19. Well, early access, beta etc has a compromise behind. We are paying the price of an AAA game per released module, so it is expected that the promises are fulfilled. If there are problems on the FM, i am pretty sure Leatherneck knows and i hope they do something about it. On the last stream, and also recently on the AMA on hoggit, they stated that they want to be more transparent in terms of development and such. I quite understand that devs run from forums if people starts getting toxic. But if there are issues, there are issues. There is no "Moving forward" because that would mean losing the trust on the company and therefore neglecting them all their future revenues because they lose any credibility. The first module is like the presentation card, it sets the ground of your standards for the community. And the Mig-21 is a beautiful and very well done aircraft, but it has several issues that have been there for long time, and sometimes all it takes is "we are looking into that". Silence doesn't earn credibility. But it's not like they have stopped pushing changes on the Bis.
  20. I just used those and fired one missile after holding weapons release, and then another after holding weapons release. It didn't fire two. So if it has to fire two, it doesn't work or i did something wrong. Edit: i know that they are supposed to be for release in quick succession, but you can fire one and then the other later.
  21. Exactly. DEAD/SEAD flights are there for this purpose. Prowlers, Growlers, Falcons, etc either by ECM or with HARM will sanitize before you deploy units that might be in danger. Bad intel or surprises could lead to, as it happens in campaigns that you face a surprise SAM site, but then you get some weapons. If you want to take a SA-10 well, good luck. It's doable. You can go very low level with the terrain and get rid of them as they won't be able to lock you if you are at about 100 ft AGL or so. But this is a fun thing to do in game, but not very realistic. Our plane is not Steven Seagal in a movie. It would be part of a big war scenery where squads have a purpose and you, as CAS, have to do your part. Some of the campaigns do this well, with all the current limitations of the AI etc. But your A-10 would never be near aircraft that can fire a missile against you except a very strange surprise. Because to have CAS on the ground you would also have air superiority on the sky, and so on.

The best thing is to find the most stable release, update there and wait.It's annoying when you get features that you want but come with bugs that make the campaigns you paid for unplayable for a long time. And since gamebreaking things are being pulled to the release branch, it's better to wait and see before updating yourself.
