This is possibly the most untrue comment on this forum. DCS in VR is awesome, you just need the right hardware.

IMHO Quest 2 is just not good enough for DCS. The resolution is too low to see fine detail in small objects, which is what you want here. That's why most mainstream VR games have cartoonish, stylized graphics. I have Pimax Crystal, and the improvement is absolutely huge from Q2. This is very expensive, but Q3 will already be a big improvement, and is an affordable and generally good headset. So yeah, the only answer is a new headset.

did you turn on the "AIRSPD SNSR TO DOPPLER" switch? don't
-
It is a factor now, I just tested it by not knowing you need to open an oxygen valve manually. Kicked in around 20k ft.

I'm using the Moza FFB base, and I find that I need around 2 divs down in pitch, and 1 div right in aileron for most flight conditions. I don't see obvious issues with the Mossie.

Turn down Y axis saturation to around 50%.

Good thing we can get into the game and test how it actually works, right? You can take off with auto flaps if you use neutral trim.
-
I doubt it unless you mean a missile. In which case, yeah, it's still deadly even to an A10. You need to post a track to have anyone validate this.
-
usually to do with your antivirus blocking game files.

It's not in the notes, but after this patch the F-16 TWS finally started to work correctly for me. Before, I could not make system tracks with TMS up. TMS up would lock the non-system track under the cursor, and TMS right would lock a random(?) track, often friendly nowhere near the cursor. Now it seems to work as intended. Thanks anyway.

The FCS will not retrim to 1g if you have flaps in AUTO. If you set TO trim (+12) with flaps in auto you will most likely crash on takeoff because the nose will just keep rising. I guess you could take off in AUTO with neutral-ish trim if you really wanted to. I' assuming the average player sets takeoff trim. Ask me how I know you will crash.

Mig 29 Air to Ground Ability and Weapons?
PawlaczGMD replied to Mad Dog 762's topic in DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum
Probably similar to the current FC3 module, so iron bombs and rockets delivered via HUD CCIP/CCRP. -
This would be great for ground attack. The default ammo loadout is sufficient but not really generous if you want to strafe.

I set the DCS AA to off, makes no visible difference. I'm trying different options in Adrenalin now. 8x supersampling looks really good overall, but doesn't work well on high aspect / thin straight lines like masts and airfield paint lines. It can cause small targets to shimmer, but that at least helps with spotting. It also is quite costly in performance. It's definitely worth it to play with these options and see what works on your hardware if the game doesn't look good by default. The best for me would be some TAA implementation that makes moving targets look better. Currently TAA/ upscaling with AMD is unusable if you want to spot planes WVR in combat.

My understanding is that it will be at that discount until EA release, not just until the release date is known?

I'll preorder it when there's a release date. No point in locking my money earlier.

No campaign bug - Spotting kills it for me
PawlaczGMD replied to Lt_Jaeger's topic in F-4 MIG Killers Campaign
Depends on your hardware, but spotting was reworked since the OP and is now better. Try the 2 pixel setting or different AA graphics options? I use 2 px in Pimax Crystal VR and it gives me quite good and more or less realistic spotting. -
Thanks for your work, but did anyone figure out how to install this in the Saved Games folder as a cockpit rather than replacing the original game files? I suppose I'd need to copy the files over every update this way, right?
-
Agreed, one of the best campaigns in DCS. Very realistic, great attention to detail, decent story, everything worked. Great balance between realism and making things interesting and difficult too. Thanks for not cucking us on A2A refueling also. Probably not for beginners though, the missions are very long and challenging. Mission 2 gave me probably the most trouble. I also botched the JSOW launch on the airfield, as I don't trust the Viper preplanned mode due to GPS/INS bugs, but that's on the jet module. I liked this one better than the F-18 side. One thing that's a bit disappointing is weak Russian air, as the newer( comparable to AMRAAM) red missiles aren't in DCS, but the campaign works around it well.

F14 VR - VDI screen not usable in MT Version
PawlaczGMD replied to westr's topic in Bugs and Problems
Bruh, is this bug still not fixed? Having to restart the mission is not a fix. -
It might be auto flaps going up at that speed. I don't remember where the flaps schedule is in docs, but you can try doing your test with flaps UP and see if this still happens. Alternatively, the engine indicators spike around that acceleration spike. More fuel flow, RPM, nozzle open. Unless you opened up the throttle to catch up? But then why does the lead outpace you in the same jet?
-
Yeah, sounds like you don't have flaps to half. Verify that the switch is in the middle position and the green indicator says "half". With auto flaps, the hornet trims for G, not stabilizer position. You need to take off with Half flaps anyway or you will crash.
