I cannot agree more, a tiny fraction of us might be looking forward to the Tornado as an example, bur THOUSANDS of us are exasperated, and pi##$d off by the what feels like a collapsing CORE of the Sim. Does not help putting lipstick on a pig of core...its still remains a pig. 7 days of testing now...and no closer to a definitive answer, except to say my Rigs ability to run missions has TANKED....AGAIN for the 2nd time in around 6 months, both after "Updates" Absolutely NUTS that we need to even consider this...but for now it looks like the only sane thing to do, Thanx for sharing

TERRIBLE STUTTERING SINCE LAST UPDATE
Rene Coulon replied to Rene Coulon's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Huge SP performance degradation with 2.9.7.58923 and 2.9.6.58056 compared to DCS 2.9.5.55918 Have a look at this Thread...for me, with the mission I build its the number of ground units Ratio to AI Aircraft airborne thats causing all my stutters. The number of ground units iin ST that my system could cope with was around 1200 with 30 Aircraft airborne, that dropped to around 750 with MT, then crashed again after the last update to just 350 or so. Something is very seriously conflicting deep inside our SIM -
This is exactly what I have found as well, after the update I have had to massively reduce the number of vehicles/ ground units for missions to run smoothly, Prior to MT the same missions ran smoothly with 1200 Units, then after MT had to slash the number to 750 or so, now its cut by HALF again !!! Something is seriously wrong with our Sim Slippa I agree with you, the updates are dragging the basic performance back badly. With ST I could run the missions I make with 1200 + ground units, and 30 + AI aircraft airborne....now its down to 30 Aircraft with 320 Ground units !!! This is Not progress...something has gone seriously wrong with the Core

These are the results of my testing. I7 8700K, 2080 ti, 64 GB RAM, M.2 500GB drive. All Stress tests are using the Mission Editor, the tests were to look at the Ratio of Ground units to AI Aircraft that my system can now cope with. There is a Large drop in the number of Ground units and AI Aircraft that can work without serious stuttering, Ships and or Static objects have a negligable performance impact AIRCRAFT VEHICLES PERFORMANCE ; 0 is terrible, 5 is Great 131 210 0 88 210 1 66 210 2 52 420 1 ( smaller than every mission , and completely un-flyable ) 24 420 3 27 357 3/4 39 231 3 51 198 4 51 130 4+ The performance is obviously subjective, based on the visable stuttering and spiking. Mission/ SERVER that prior to the update had approximately 700+ vehicles could be flown with 40 + AI aircraft Airborne. Something serious has happened to account for this BIG DROP in Performance. the Ratio of AI units has dropped dramatically. PIC 1 is Great , PIC 2 is a stuttering mess.

TERRIBLE STUTTERING SINCE LAST UPDATE
Rene Coulon replied to Rene Coulon's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Hi, Testing continues, the test mission can run over 150 AI aircraft no issues, with 20 ships and 20 vehicles. I think its pointing to TEMPLATES, but will try and isolate this theory properly. I can place for example 30 Bofors guns no big change, but when I put down 3 Templates or less...made using the ME so say 1 Bofor, 3 soldiers and a jeep, stuttering starts. I just want to confirm this more... -
i AM CURRENTLY RUNNING STRESS TESTS on the Normandy map. 1. 200 AI Aircraft airborne, smooth as silk, nothing else 2. 300 AI Ships, zero stutters, nothing else 3. 200 ground unit of various sizes and types including V1 lauchers etc, no issues. Somehow its looking like a combination of things triggering the stutters, or I am still to isolate the Trigger either a Plane, Ship or ground unit...It could even be a formation type ???? Will report any findings

TERRIBLE STUTTERING SINCE LAST UPDATE
Rene Coulon replied to Rene Coulon's topic in Game Performance Bugs
I figured it out, Thanx, made so dissernable difference unfortunately. What is confusing me, is that on a stress test mission...I have lots of AI Planes flying, seems ok, but on another mission, same map...with a lot fewer AI airborne, the stuttering is really bad. Looks like either a particular unit, or a combination of ground units might be the problem...will keep digging today -
I know....somehow DCS needs to get its foundations reset...Super new modules are Icing on the cake...but if the cake itself is a mess....no amount of Icing will help really grow the Fan base in a strong and sustainable way.. Another issue, and I really do understand why its super difficult to implement, is some form of relief for Non Americans/Europeans, trying to purchase modules with currencies that are stuffed...mine is currently over 18 to 1...anyway thats another topic.

I have used process Lasso to get my CORES 7 to 11 running in DCS again....There is a SLIGHT improvement. I have a stress test Map on the Normandy Map. I have loaded it with a Lot of extra AI aircraft, it seems to run very well...however other missions with more ground units, for example AAA batteries, are running way worse, with a lot fewer AC airborne. How to pin point where the issue actually lies is really really difficult.

I dont think as users we should need to deep dive into our systems to keep having to try and recover big drops in performance after almost every " update" . This has never happened in any other Sim I have ever used. Its honestly hurting the experience for a LOT of us. To enjoy the Sim, you should NOT need to be a PC master, or deep dive guru. We are being forced to do this by DCS, and its driving LOTS of people away.

Members 143 1 Posted 20 hours ago (edited) I have a home system when 2 players can play in MP on a closed system. The mission I have made have been super smooth in 2.9.5. After the last updates the stuttering and multiple freezes make the missions unplayable. Nothing has changed on my side, Gone from a steady 120 FPS in 2D to 30 /70 FPS The second player is glitchy as heck. These same missions now Massive Stutters and have Micro Freezes with around 12 AI units involved. There has been a considerable performance crash since the last 2 updates.

TERRIBLE STUTTERING SINCE LAST UPDATE
Rene Coulon replied to Rene Coulon's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Hi, I dont have any Mods, I have deleted FXO and Metashaders, I do run Lasso. Whats super annoying is how we have to do deep dives into our systems, just to recover lost performance, after Avery Update, really killing the Sim for many people. How do I make sure those cores are available for this process ? -

solved Unable to Select Aircraft in Mission Editor
Rene Coulon replied to CommandT's topic in Mission Editor Bugs
That caught a friend of mine as well a few days ago -
civil traffic especially on the Normandy map creates Massive stutters for me Try turning of civil traffic

One of the issues is AI that will not use a runway that is damaged at all. this really can mess with a mission builder.

I did not know that...thanx, but visable repair teams would indeed be really cool
