  1. The C 47, aka Dakota, should be able to land on every Airfield in southern England. The Planes real life performance makes this very possible. Missions could really use the ability for Comms and Logistics flights. Can ED please look at making this possible. These are the Airfields it cannot land on, or Sporn from, except using a Take off from Runway option. Lymington, Need Oar Point, Friston, Deanland, Chainley, Biggin Hill, West malling, Detling, Gravesend. Thank you. LastMissionTrack.trk
  2. The work you do is just amazing, Thank you.

Do you plan to,  or is there anyone you know who is working on WW2 ships ?

Hi, Thank you so much. Any additions to the WW2 era shipping will make a big difference. Its just silly that we basically have 1 German fast boat and a sub.

      Kind regards

PS...I wish I had this skill. Flew professionally for 40 years...but PC moddeling is above my pay grade,

You're so right. ED's focus is not on maritime assets. They honestly don't care about them. That's where we come in.

Back in 2018, I found DCS while looking for Ship Simulator games. The biggest thing I noticed was the lack of Navy ships I liked, so I sought out to learn how to create 3D Ship mods. Fortunately, the person who used to create AI Ship mods in DCS showed me exactly how to do it. The biggest challenge is learning the 3D modeling software. I chose 3DS Max over Blender. I'm still learning.

Wow, 40 years. My background is maritime. I've Piloted/Navigated ships of all types and sizes. Operated Tugboats, Ferries, and small boats so that's why I have a fascination for Ship mods.

Below is a mod i was working on last week. When I'm bored i will work on random ship models. HMAS Brisbane.

THATS AMAZING !!, My nephew is a skipper for a Pilot Boat in Cape town, and my Son is about to rejoin the Royal Navy as an engineer. Luckily commenwealth boys still can. He was previously a Commando.

      Take care

  3. I am with you on this !. WW2 and support in DCS is getting weaker by the month. No Ships of any real consequence etc etc...we really are the left behind fans.
  4. I find a massive improvement . Below are results from an extremely basic stress test mission. pre update with 12 AI aircraft airborne its was a stuttering mess...now is Smooth and stable. Added AI formations in last test...40 AC Flying now, same 1550 Ground units....STILL SMOOTH....I am really Impressed, WELL DONE ED. 2080Ti, 8700K, 64 GB Ram 20241002_084816[1].mp4 NORMANY STRESS TESTSUNITS ELIMINATOR.miz 20241002_102545[1].mp4
  5. This is a direct before and after using a Stress test mission. The units were just added untill the system became a juddering mess. With only 12 planes flying this was already the case...now its significantly better. The update has really made a HUGE improvement to my system, 8700K ,64 GB Ram, 2080Ti 20241002_084816[1].mp4 NORMANY STRESS TESTSUNITS ELIMINATOR.miz
  6. Coolbeans thank you. I hope to jump soon from my 8700K to a 13700K, LOTTO winnings dependant, lolol
  7. going to update tonight and check. The initial feedback looks good, fingers crossed
  8. Hold off on a major upgrade...however 64 GB RAM would help everywhere.
  9. Hi, there is a long thread about the serious performance drops from 2.9.5 to 2.9.6 and the to 2.9.7 ED are digging into whats gone wrong and have shown that in the next update some, hopefully all the performance issues will be addressed. Its linked to Ground units and the number of AI aircraft we can handle. for servers, its dropped for 1200/ 50, to 400/30.
  10. Hi, Yes, only after asking....lets hope the next BIG FIX sorts most of the issues out...I am very wary of trying this fix on my own...chances of destroying my DCS are to good...lolol
  11. I agree COMPLETELY How do we use this script, extract it and where must we load it ?
  12. have a look at this thread, a Lot of us are up against a really bad performance wall. Missions we made are now unplayable.
  13. Has anyone heard anything at all about the WW 2 ships that might be in development, 8 months have passed and its very quiet
  14. I agree with you completely. There is no point in having amazing eye candy that only woks for screen shots, if the Battle Fields that many of us spend months developing for servers etc, are as good as dead. Guess we just have to Trust that ED can find the root cause of the performance collapse and Fit it, because for me DCS may as well be MSFS for now
  15. If this the case its Really Cool !
  16. Hi, I think I am just going to run a repair, check that I can actually still open DCS, and wait for ED to work their magic, and fix the mess. Thanx for all your help its been a learning curve of note and much appreciated Regards
  17. Skatezilla is not seeing the 2.9.5 version autoupdate_log.txt
  18. I Have done the revision...but DCS will not open. Must I change to Desktop Target to the older bin file...not the bin-mt file ?
  19. A Man after my own heart...epic work buddy
  20. With a lot of help from chaps I finally figured how to do this, quickly and safely. Its a handy procedure to know for as and when we have an update that goes very wrong. Have a look on the Thread about a big loss of performance as well. There is more Info.
