This might be caused by an error in Skynet's missile name display list. Bothered and recognized us while flying together at some points, but never enough to go and make a forum post, its not like a shitty BF109 skin type issue. One of at least some minor Skynet errors we noticed, can't recall what else it was though, maybe someone remembers? What you need to do to fix it Mirk is cange the Skynet label of the Mirages Super530 missile to "Schoolbus filled with explosives" to make it extra accurate! :pilotfly:

And here you see: Open Conflict superior tactics are leaking into the real world, cant wait to play for a bit once I'm home. FOX EVERYTHING!

Well, we are also trying out our own hacks to rearm the viggen in the field, with succes! The ground handling allows you to get out of the superglue grass by either using the mighty afterburner to kinda sink your front wheel into the ground and get going, or slam your tail on the grass by using the reverse thrust. Pictures here!

Hey all, wanted to write a bit about viggen capabilities and functionality in OC as for the recent patches. In conclusion: It works great! Plotting in waypoints and planning your flight using the F10 map is actually even more fun than having a preplanned route. It is indeed a bit tricky, but once you get the hang of it, you can use every function of the viggen on Open Conflict. So in general no need for further waypoints, except for maybe a preset reference point on some landmark for each coalition. Other than that, we only need more slots of it per coalition, have you thought about groundspawns?

First please bump the map area up so 64 people can actually fly without collisions 24/7 30 Players is enough IMO for the size of the conflict zone. Looking forward to what you're working on Mirk :)

Flying is indeed a ton of fun in this wind, employing weapons is.. interesting as cicimicikiller stated. Guided bombs really seem to struggle in this conditions. Even trusty GBU38 missed a target the other day. Things improved with using the LASTE wind correction in the A10, or correcting manually. CBUs are unusable though.. them little chutes go on a nice little journey instead of doing their work

Scores stay even after switching planes. You can do a run with the 25T, bring havoc to tuapse and than hop into your fighter and enjoy less SAM.

Hope everybody had or is still having wonderful holidays, just gonna leave this few screenshots here! IMGUR

Had to treat this to myself again.. now you only gotta come back home NASA! Thinking about the Bf109 aswell :joystick:

More famous visitors on OC, making even better videos!

Would break in about 30min due to excessive barrel rolling and UFOing

Yeah, Mirages are quite fast to spool up if you skip the alignment. Then, on the other hand it doesn't take nearly as long to fuel up the Mirage compared to FC3 fighters. Also i noticed that the quick INS align option is available on Open Conflict, which will completely skip INS having to align if the player also has it set, not sure if this is intentional or not. After all i wouldn't look so hard at the Mirage, being outranged by every other 4th gen figher in the game.

It's not a bug, it's a feature. Sadly, ED doesnt seem to check patches in multiplayer. Use the chat commands or revert to the pre spitfire version of DCS .

As an A10 junkie, I've always wondered if there could be more use for the predator drone that used to be in the game along with the AI Tu22. The TAD, the A10s moving map system can see the predator along with F16 and hopefully player F18 in the future and share information. I've always dreamed about a Predator drone that's still an enemy A-A target, but with a bit more use for the team it's on. It would be seriously awesome to have a drone move around the conflict zone, targeting objectives and moving on once it's target is destroyed. A SPI could be supplied for A10's, and a laser would benefit everything able to carry GBU12s. Seconding the CAS idea, maybe have a BTR along with soldiers move in on every 5th crashed pilot for example, with about 10mins of room.

I'd like to add on to this with a couple more screenshots: With different levels of zoom, these things seem to vanish and reappear.

Nah, the only damaged piece was the CDU and maybe fuel tanks. Pilot more alive than ever..
-
Cmon Skynet, I've brought A10s way more damaged than this back to base!
-
The culprit was a mirage and NASA not syncing with Skynet for about five minutes. Once he synched that flaming ball of A10 lost it's wings on the clientside too.+ Foggy internet..

Redfor AWACS talking english is a feature, not a bug. Never had any issues with IFF before, are you sure it wasn't your fault?

Hey Mirk, seems like people are having problems with the F10 option not visible in how it seems non-flaming cliffs aircraft. Just completely gone. Also, i bet some lucky people wanna have spitfire slots... :helpsmilie:

I call this one: Bluefor CAP! Priceless, poor cosmic yesterday evening...

Two screenshots from this evening, looking forward to see you experimenting with fuel and slots!

100% Fuel is about 2.5-3 Hours of flighttime in the A10 at 100% throttle, which is nice if you can loiter around. However, this in not really the case for this setting, more like a hit and run style. If I go for Tuapse base for example, 50% fuel is more than enough to get there, search targets and return to base safely. And since its a slow plane, every 5-10kts we can go faster is worth cutting the fuel.
-
I also think this could help. Respawning shouldn't be more comfortable then returning back to base. Talking about fuel levels, setting at least the hot start A10s to maybe 80% fuel would be much appreciated!

Hey Mirk, I'm a bit bummed out about the player constellations in OC lately... Usually its 70-80% players in fighters, with a fair share of F15, Mirage and SU27/33. Groundpounding is rather rare, since the amount of fighter pouring into the conflict zone at any time makes it hard to defend and give time to an A10 or something else. Yesterday for example: Cravgar shoots someone down around Tuapse, said player hops into a new F15, three bags and full burn towards bulls again. By the time Crav was RTB starting to refuel and rearm, the other Player was already at it again shooting people down. All of the people in the Teamspeak that evening agreed on the disadvantage to groundpounders in the conflict zone. Whis is an absolute shame! The ground targets in the conflict zone are really well done and fun to attack. They are just not reachable anymore, and its freaking frustrating to get shot down every sortie you try to do! Nothing bad about getting shot down in fighters though, because 3 bags full burn, here we go! Something has to be done about this, I used to enjoy the ground targets with less players and also seemingly less fighters. Reduction of fighter slots, dry spawning, whatever. I'd just like to see the number of groundpounders go up a bit again, and stop this Open Cluster****.
