If you have dual-throttles you can cut thrust in one engine separately and the graphics show no smoke at all. At that time you also lose all the thrust on one side of the plane, making you slower and helping you turn. I am a complete newb, but that is what I do with my Saitek Aviator. Strong rudder trim and gentle steering will even let you land with relative ease on the remaining engine.

i was on the server trying my skills with the A10 and of course got SAM'ed, so I spent some time looking at you prawning things with Vikhrs on TuAF II :D
