I'm trying to master the A10a, but with a lot of difficulty. When I try flying a mission, I'd like to use Mavericks to kill the anti-air units then roll with bombs or gun for tanks. But how can you tell them apart? The mav screen shows only dark or light dots with little to no shape. Any help is appreciated.

As I learn this game I am realizing how incredible it really is. But it does come with a high price of frustration and confusion. When dog fighting (guns) in the f-15 it seems my energy is always super low. Like below w 200 even with full afterburner on. The mugs zoom by me and climb while I can't even get the nose up. Does the f15 bleed energy or what? Yes speed break,is retracted, flaps are not in landing position, fuel,tanks are jettisoned. Thanks

Thanks for clarifying it. I really enjoy the complexity of the game, but time being limited it does become a little overwhelming. Thanks to all who try to help, as a newbie it makes a huge difference having a supporting on line community. When I get all this figured out, I'll be sure to pay it forward with the next "new guy".

Dcs 1.5 plays great. Dcs 2.0 there is no instant action, mission editor, or anything playable. I haven't bought dcs NTTR or other terrains. What gives ?

Hello all, Started DCS about 3 weeks ago and I'm starting to get the hang of it. But I got a couple of questions on the "world" part since I am not a computer guy. I've been playing 1.5, so today I opened 2.0. No mission editor, no campaigns, my settings were gone, what's up ? Is 2.0 not playable? All the videos I've seen on you tube have a bunch of aircraft flying around. Are all these placed there by the player or is there a server where you can jump in and there are others playing? I'm a pretty good cyber pilot but DCS fc3 mid air refueling is insane!! I've been at it for about an hour and a half a day for four days and I've connected once for about five seconds. Is this normal or do I secretly suck ??:pilotfly:

Armed EAC, both by key mapped and keyboard, and the plane still rights itself and starts to climb...frustrating. I tried in AA mode and GA mode.... Any other thing you can think of ?

Got it on the brakes, However, I've tried mapping all of the LAAPs to my hotas, and none of them will hold alt, bearing, or speed. It's hard to aim Mavericks while steering the hog! Any advice?

Still brand new to DCS, and I'm playing it with an oculus rift. It's AMAZING, you're not playing a sim, you're IN a sim. However, the pixel density is not as good as a monitor. So, flying the a10a and f15, I've tried setting up a zoom so I can see further away but to no avail. I have both levers and bottoms available on my hotas, but no matter what I map it doesn't zoom in/out. Any help is greatly appreciated. HoYa

Hello everyone, I'm super new to DCS, and have only been flying the f15 and the a10a, but I already love this game. I'm flying in dcs 1.5, and I would love to attempt a mid air refuel. How, where, are the tankers? Thanks

I'm trying to map key commands to my hotas, but I can't seem to find autopilot anywhere, any help as to which menu it's under would be appreciated. Also, when flying the f15c, I mapped the rudder toe brake as the wheel brake with no problem but the a10a simply won't map it, any ideas ? Thanks

Super noob here, On the right hand side of center there are two red lights. One reads AL (airborne something, I guess) and SAM (surface to air missile, pretty sure on that one). Here is the question, to these lights turn on when a radar scans you, locks you, or shoots at you? I've looked everywhere but can't find the answer. Thanks....

I tried placing these files in the config, as you said and nothing. I tried placing them within the F15 folder and again nothing. I just keep getting the same control profiles but now I have F15, F15 game, F15 Sim, and they are all the same.... whats worst is that if I try to program a button on my throttle it doesn't ever register it. I tried reinstalling it, but it cant since its already installed.... Lets try this, does the throttle, rudder, stick each have their own profiles I can load or are they all in one? where are they stored? how do I delete the F15game, f15sim, profiles? thanks./

I did that, the download won't open and the instructions say to go to the thrust master hotas warthog profile. Where is the TMW profile ? The download, should it open or is it a file I just "plug" somewhere?

Perhaps I didn't explain myself, is there a way to import pre-set control assignments? Like, Download the file, import it into dcs and controls are already assigned to their function? I.e. The player just has to learn where the chaft and flares are instead of deciding where to put them... Thanks again

Thanks, but not being a 'computer guy' I cant seem to find the 'Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS profiles" is this in DCS, or thrustmaster program ??

I just started playing DCS, and I can already tell this will be the most frustrating, hate filled, horrible game I will ever love ! I'm interested only in the f15c and the a10a, but since I bought the thrust master warthog, there are so many buttons that just figuring out where everything should go will take months. Does anyone have a list of control commands that I could copy to get going? Thanks to anyone that replies HoYa

I just downloaded 2.0, The only plane that is colored in, but other than setting it as wall paper I can do nothing else. All options, other than encyclopedia and options, is grey and will not click. What gives??

I just tried the oculus rift at Best Buy and loved it ! So much so, that I am going to buy a home cockpit and start learning dcs game play. I'm not interested in the a-10c or anything that complicated, I just wanna fly FC3. My question is that FC3 is keyboard intensive and the oculus rift does not allow for easy access to the keyboard. So, if I buy a TM warthog, will that give me enough buttons to just about eliminate the need for a keyboard? Or is there another solution? Thanks HoYa

I just tried the oculus rift and it was awesome ! So much so that I am planning on buying a home cockpit and start to learn DCS, specifically FC3, not the more complex a10c. My question is this, with the oculus it seems impossible to access the keyboard or mouse.
