  1. Also, is there any way to turn up the voiceover volume without messing with the HELMET setting in the audio settings (as this will also turn up bettys voice which NONE of us want ;) )
  2. Is it highly recommended to play this mission with others? I was playing alone and found myself very overwhelmed and stretched thin, as well as being constantly shot down XD
  3. "Pull up pull up" and "autopilot" when I break out of autopilot Wish there was a way to turn down Bettys voice and only Bettys voice
  4. Our beloved Betty's voice can get a bit loud at times, so I usually turn the HELMET slider down to about 20%. However, I'm playing FOB Vekta, and I can get a bit hard to hear some of the dialogue. But I can't turn up the volume without Betty bursting my eardrums :) Any way to get around this issue, other than turning down the volume in the intercom panel? (I don't want to do that because it also turns down other noises that I'd rather hear, I just want to tune down Betty's voice)
  5. What engine RPM should you generally stay at when you're cruising in any fighter (F-15, Su-27, M2000, etc)? Do you guys stay at mil power at all times?
  6. I don't know of any, but you can always go into the editor, and click the aircraft icon on the left. Then click anywhere on the map, and change the aircraft type to A-10C, and skill level to Player Then select the vehicle icon on the left side, and put down some trucks in an open space a bit in front of where you placed your aircraft
  7. Hahaha, who FENCE INs? I always keep my mavs hot, Master Arm, and PAC on, lol
  8. Hey I'm new to blue flag and I was wondering why the caucusus campaign is down and when it will be back up
  9. It really is. That's why I've started playing more MiG-29 and less Su-27, wanting to get the M2000C and play less F-15. There's something very appealing to me about only carrying 4-6 missiles, as opposed to 8-12.
  10. So currently, if you look at the inventory of the AI F/A-18C Hornet, you can see that it is capable of carrying: AN/ASQ-173 LST/SCAM on station 6 AN/AAQ-28 LITENING TGP on station 5 and AN/AAS-38 FLIR pod on station 4 My question is, what is the difference between the TGP and FLIR pod? And since the TGP has the ability to find laser spots on the ground (Laser Spot Search), is it even necessary to carry both the LST/SCAM pod and the TGP at the same time?
  11. Damn, does that come with time? How long you been playing in the Caucasus terrain? To be honest, I really use the F10 map for just two things. 1. Zooming into the airfield I spawned at, so I can see what turns to make in order to get onto the runway 2. Getting a vector to an airfield (or bullseye if I'm on the 104th) I can easily do #2 in the Hog with just the TAD and CDU, don't know how to get around #1 though
  12. I often use AGM-65Ds against Hinds because I've found that the Sidewinders are unreliable as I dont want to get to close, Hinds will chew you up and spit you out
  13. sorry to be always spamming this thread w/ questions but: ive been flying the hog for about 6 months now (however i studied how to fly it and use its systems for about a year before i actually bought it) and was wondering if veteran DCS:A-10C pilots are able to navigate without using the F10 map and only the TAD. Should I also eventually stop using the F10 map and only use the TAD?
  14. thank you all for your help, really appreciate it
  15. Ah I see, and each campaign has multiple rounds that last 16 days each Edit: how will I know when the Caucasus campaign is back up?
  16. Is each one (NTTR, Caucasus) called a campaign? And does each "campaign" have more than 1 round?
  17. ok so im assuming that the blue flag NTTR campaign doesnt include A-10Cs ive actually never joined the blue flag server, im only signed up....dont have NTTR so im waiting for the Blue Flag Caucasus campaign. Any idea when the NTTR campaign will be over and the Caucasus one will start?
  18. So like AMRAAMer asked above, do people just look at the online map and fly to the general area of the FARP/comm array they want to hit to find it? PS I'm also new to blue flag
  19. There's one freq for all airfields? Or do people use the frequencies found on the f10 map
  20. Guys I'm new to blue flag and I have a question: In some Ralfidude videos I hear him stating "Kutaisi traffic, Dagger 1-1 taking the active runway 30 for south departure" or stating "Kutaisi traffic Dagger 1-1 on final, runway 30" Is it necessary to announce takeoffs and landings like this? And if you do, do you announce them on the GCI frequency?
  21. Why no TGP? You guys might as well be flying the A-10A :D
  22. If you get the A-10A, be prepared to memorize about a dozen or so keyboard commands. If you get the A-10C, be prepared to read a 600 page manual, learn how many types of weapons work like laser guided bombs, cluster munitions, etc. Be prepared to learn the complicated computer system and how to use the avionics. If you know how to fly DCS: A-10C, you know how to fly the Hog in real life, that's the level of realism you should be prepared for. That said, once you learn the A-10C, you'll be a lot more effective at engaging targets. In the A-10A, i cant last more than 10 minutes without being shot down because the plane is so simplified and limited. In the A-10C, I can last over an hour and engage dozens upon dozens of targets including SAM sites, AAA sites, tanks, APCs, trucks, etc
  23. dumb question but how big of an effect does aircraft weight have on fuel consumption?
  24. I've started taking 4 GBU-12s because one time, I dropped a 38 on a Shilka, and then it moved, I was about to scream lol
  25. Also, why do people take 2x GBU-12 and 2x GBU-38? Why not just 4x GBU-12? I know that people dont take 4x GBU-38 because you might need to attack a moving target but why not take 4 GBU-12s?
