1. E61 is right, those are the mods.
2. here's a couple pics with the HDR mod and AntonioGatti's sky mod. Unfortunatly tekateka's treeshademod2.0 does not work with Antonio's mod installed, but I will not be using the SkyMod all the time anyway. By the way, I made two different .ini's; one for use with Skymod, one for regular use. As you can see, the shadows stand out too much...
3. O.K. no problem! I just finished really testing this HDR mod and took a lot of screenshots, and saved a lot of different configurations of the .ini, so if you see a screenshot you like, and want to try the .ini just let me know and I'll post it on here!! Here are my findings: :smartass: 1. BloomPowerDay, BloomFadeTime, DarkeningAmount, DarkeningAmountDay, and Illumination have the biggest impact on visuals. Bloom and Illumination are self-explanatory, but the DarkeningAmountDay has a massive impact; shown below. I have D.A.D set at 15; ...and 50; ...and 100; As you can see, huge differences are seen. Not much between 50 and 100, but a huge difference between 15 and 50!!
4. How about a Saitek Evo Force :D Someday I'll try fusing the Evo and X52
5. Sure! I DL'd Bramski's tweaked .ini from post #112, and replaced it. It was close to what I wanted, but not excactly... So, I opened the original enbseries .ini - and the tweaked .ini so that I could compare the differences between values. I've got some time so I'll give you a breakdown on what I found and did: Bramski's Original/Br's New/My New value. BloomFadeTime=1600/changed to 150/ I set it to =250 I think this was the major factor, but I'll let you decide for yourself...I did more tweaks than just this. Here's my .ini so you can try for yourself!!
6. Just thought I'd bump this thread and show a couple of screens I took this morning. I've recently upgraded my computer, and since DCS:BS wont be out for a while in NA, I thought I'd try out Flaming Cliffs for the first time. :joystick: Now I have my X52 bound, got my mods installed, [thanks all for the wonderful mods!!] and am giving my E8500 C2D a workout! -not to mention his buddy, the GTX260 Core216 Superclocked edition graphics card... Am really loving this HDR mod, I toned it down a little but looks pretty:D :pilotfly:
7. @ Hitman, Is FEX compatible with DX10??
8. Well, -if it is- I would hope to see an English demo soon!
9. Thanks for the advise. BTW, I figured out my issue with my profile, if you have a Saitek you may appreciate this... I had bound the 1,2, and 7 keys to my mode switch; Nav, Air and Ground, respectively. This caused a little headache for some reason and I deleted the keystrokes. This caused some kind of glitch in the SST soft that caused my lockon profile to use 100% of one core of my E8500. I remedied by clicking the key 'box', and selecting 'unprogrammed' as the state. Apparently deleting the keys is NOT the correct solution... Like I said, 'buggy' software!
10. the SST programming software is buggy, I hope I can map most things from in game without a conflict. I just reinstalled LO:FC and made a new x52 profile; and for some reason that particular pr0. profile uses a massive amount of CPU when I load it...
11. Whatever, just get me the demo before I :spam_laser: somebody... ...all this naysaying and chickenlittle behavior will dissappear as soon as the game is available...I hope! [i mean available legally, of course!]
12. As far as I'm concerned, everything that needed to be said was in the first post; all reply's thereafter should be deleted and the 'Open Letter to the Community' should be stickied... Once again, thank you ED and associates for looking after the best interest of Black Shark, and by extension, the real community!
13. The same old story... A few spoil it for many... Released late Winter.
14. @ HitchHikingFlatlander, "If you think thats a lot of work then you're the kinda guy that needs a single joystick, rather than a X52, Cougar, or CH set up. The whole point of a HOTAS is in its name Hands On Throttle And Stick............... at least IMO!" This statement is what I was responding to, and I took it as an affront to my personal character, and may have responded harshly, so for that I apologize. The last thing we need around here is more drama, so I'm going to drop the whole matter post haste!! Besides, I'm too excited to program my new keyboard to even worry about it!!
15. Personally, I tried to stick to the 'real' ka50 controls on the X52, and broke it down into the 3 modes; Nav [includes takeoff/landing] Attack, and Autopilot. (i.e. Hat3 will adjust the shkval gate and fov size in Nav mode, and Hat3 will also adjust the landing light if I have the pinkie shift depressed. In Attack mode, it will be similar, but the pinkie shift will select hardpoints instead.) I haven't finished mapping my stick yet, but I'll post it when its done. The keyboard I will buy today will give me the option to have the Datalink panel, or PVI mapped to the NumPad.
16. :pilotfly: There are nine pages of commands, (well 8 1/2 really!) and I am definately not the kind of guy who would try to cram them all onto a HOTAS when there is a perfectly good MS keyboard out there that I can use to my advantage; by programming another 90 one-stroke commands!! This is my hobby, not my profession... and I definately dont have the time to sit around wondering what 'kinda guy' anybody else is!! :D Someday I may have the ambition to build a simpit, but right now its about simplicity, I just dont have much free time, because I work hard IRL!! :weight_lift_2:
17. I went through this and debated with myself for a month, and decided on an E8500 now, and will probably upgrade to a fast quadcore in a year or so, hopefully the price will be cheaper... as for lofc, dont have it installed so i couldnt tell you how it runs.
18. Yes Paul, I do realize that there are a very large number of button combinations with the X52... But did you realize that binding; \ Communication menu E - LWin Flight - Complete mission and RTB R - LWin Flight - Complete mission and rejoin T - LWin Toggle formation Y - LWin Join up formation Q - LWin Attack my target W - LWin Cover me G - LWin Flight - Attack ground targets D - LWin Flight - Attack air defenses and, Ins Engines start-up control panel and levers Home Start-up engine Home - RAlt Interrupt start-up sequence End Stop APU button E Engine selector E - LAlt Engine Startup/Crank/False Start selector PageUp Throttle up (Idle-Medium-Auto-Full) PageDown Throttle down (Idle-Medium-Auto-Full) PageUp - RAlt Left Throttle up (Idle-Medium-Auto-Full) PageDown - RAlt Left Throttle down (Idle-Medium-Auto-Full) PageUp - RShift Right Throttle up (Idle-Medium-Auto-Full) PageDown - RShift Right Throttle down (Idle-Medium-Auto-Full) PageUp - RCtrl Cut-off valve left engine PageDown - RCtrl Cut-off valve right engine R - LShift Rotor brake and, Esc End mission Pause Pause Z - LCtrl Time accelerate Z - LAlt Time decelerate Z - LShift Time normal ‘ Score window ` Multiplayer chat - mode All ` - RCtrl Multiplayer chat - mode Allies Y - LCtrl Info bar toggle Tab - RCtrl - RShift Get New Plane - respawn C - LAlt Clickable mouse cockpit mode On/Off SysRQ Screenshot Pause - RCtrl Frame rate counter - Service info Y - LAlt Info bar coordinate units toggle P - RShift Show Pilot Body Enter - RCtrl Show controls indicator ... well, binding these to your HOTAS is a bit of a stretch; talk about playing the piccolo!!:smilewink: Anywho, gonna get the MS Sidewinder tommorow, I'll let y'all know how it turns out!
19. Cool, he locked onto a soldier!!
20. I just took a first crack at mapping my X52 Hotas with the BS commands, and have realized that I am going to need some kind of additional buttons... even with a clickable cockpit, there are many commands [wingman commands, general non-cockpit commands, etc...] that I would like to have mapped. After a little search, I've come up with a couple choices, the first being the G-15 keyboard http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/keyboards/keyboard/devices/3498&cl=US,EN and the MS Sidewinder keyboard http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/gaming/productdetails.aspx?pid=102 The Ms Sidewinder has many programmable buttons, looks like a good choice. Can anyone shed some light onto the pros/cons of these, I will probably pick one up this weekend.
21. Thanks for the updated info, so what if its not good news; It's not the end of the world, we still have the demo and other goodies coming to keep us busy before the Western release!!
22. @ Pilotasso, do you still have the pictures for the precision mod, I'm interested in doing it but do not see the pictures in the old thread!? The fact that the sticks handling is 'square' and not 'round' as it should be is a real annoyance to me, Shouldn't Saitek be able to solve this with software?? Anyhow, any help on that mod would be appreciated, I would like to attempt it this weekend!
23. Wow, those little USB 7" monitors would be perfect for the abris and shkval!! Too bad I'm waaaaaayy over budget on my BlackShark toys as it is!!
24. check out the thread named "manual translated" or some such, it is the 500+ page manual, and has all the photos of every panel in the cockpit!! http://rapidshare.com/files/155124427/DCS-BS_Flight_Manual_translated.pdf.html thats the link i believe cheers
