I had the same problem [X52 user] here's what I did to solve it: I went through my printed 'keymap' and highlighted every command I needed that had a Right Shift. Then I changed the keycommand in Black Shark and replaced every Rshift I wanted with the Rwin. (or Apps key) note: I did not do every key-just the ones I wanted to bind to the stick!! The SST software recognizes the Apps/Rwin key, this is the only change; I didnt find it necessary to remap the 'P' or whatever... kept the same keys otherwise; and I didnt run into any conflicts with other mappings!!

Force Feed Back question for Black Shark!
crazysundog replied to rapid's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hey rapid, I cannot get my Evo to work well with blackshark, you may want to look at a different force feedback stick... I was hoping to do the same thing; and I can get my Evo and my X52 working at the same time, but the FFB in that stick is horrible; more specifically- the Trim will not make the stick stay in position when I hit the trim button... I'm not going to mess with it anymore, but maybe keep my eye on e-bay for a different FFB... -
and may their fingers rot and fall off their hands.... many here downloaded the russian version (it cost me the equivalent of a dozen beer in Canada) and we are having fun crashing and scratching our heads because we sleep better at night...

Trim, trim; and more trim!! Oh, and RTFM!!!

I've got the evga 750i mainboard; no complaints on that at all... but you may want to download and copy to disc the newest drivers; the drivers on the disc provided gave me issues for some reason.. wish i had the foresight to do that!

I own a GTX 260; Core 216 Superclocked edition by eVGA. It's the same as a 260 but it has 216 cores instead of 192 and is factory oc'd and costs just a little more than the regular 260...it also benched rather close to the 280. check out this video review and this benchmark review http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/10103-evga-geforce-gtx-260-core-216-216-sp-superclocked-edition-review.html they also have a 9800 review on that site you may want to check out... I went with the C2D 8500 to run everything for now; will probably upgrade in a year

Black Shark Techdemo - Trim with Force Feedback
crazysundog replied to urze's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I just tried my Saitek Evo Force last night, how dissapointing!! It has very unaccurate controls, and I could not get a realistic trim to happen; always too much or too little!! I tried the Saitek control panel, deadzones, spring settings, and the BS FFB tuning and I would still rather fly with my X52!! Oh well, back to the drawing board!! -
personally I've [had] to reinstall this game like 5 times already; the only notice of installs remaining was on the first time... you should be ok unless you change hardware!

This is all in reference to the website exwp.com; writing the admin back after the rejection email...as far as I know, most North Americans have used this site and had to write the admin to get the money transferred, that admin has made a killing off the Ka50!!!
-
You must go through a webmoney exchanger...there are a couple of pages of info on this thread about page #'s 30-33. Unfortunately, somebody on this forum did this step for me, so I cant give you a step by step guide...

I've noticed that I get much better FPS if I do not have the FULLSCREEN box checked... I'm not sure why, but the game is still in fullscreen; but if anyone is having low fps or stutters, check your options, and make sure fullscreen is unchecked...
-
My mistake; They are still working on software and bugs [at a snail's pace] and there is one tech support admin over at their forum.... however, I've had my X52 for 1 year, and had one question answered out of like 10!!
-
Hmmmm; Sounds like I need to learn a few things about video editing!!
-
Saitek was bought up by MadCatz last year; there is no new support coming, there is probably no file convertor coming... On the upside, there will be more new sticks and keyboards, and also a cool looking aviator gaming headset on its way; support for current sticks and such has fallen to the wayside im afraid!!

Hah, a very good question, and I would also like opinions; my opinion is that the microsoft one had horrible quality and no sound... of course i probably fudged up some settings somewhere!!

Recommended training before Black Shark arrives?
crazysundog replied to McVittees's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I flew in FSX for 6 months, and with some very good advise from the Hovercontrol forums, (like setting your controls up very touchy; I move my stick maybe 2-3 cents for almost all flight time) I was able to come up with a good idea of how a helicopter flies, of course vortex ring and retreating blade stall were things I could not really test; or rotor clipping!! Doing this, I had a lot easier time with the Black shark than I would have otherwise, so dont discount FS because it is not as realistic...think of it as using training wheels... I also read the FAA Rotorcraft Manual, and found a copy of ChickenHawk, by Robert Mason, a true story of a Huey driver in Vietnam; he describes a lot of technical stuff that you might not encounter elsewhere. -
Whenever I engage it I wait until my forward velocity is under 50kph, but I keep on using my stick and hitting the Trim to center until my movement is negligible...not sure if this is the correct way to do it... Maybe try watching Wags' P.Notes; and maybe look at the SimHQ preview #2

and i believe you have to raise the engine idle of your working engine to emergency power, [handles behind your left elbow, on the back wall] also, I'm pretty sure you have to engage a clutch on the engine that is broken, so that engine does not cause friction on the shaft just guessing here

Sure, send me your R# by PM, you have 1 hour before i go to work!!

HereHere!! A very similar thing happened to me, only it was a paypal transaction, not a voucher... Many thanks to MultiViper, if it wasnt for him I would not be flying *ahem* crashing the Ka50 in many different ways!!! -
That is normal... did you get an email from paypal, notifying you that payment was complete?
-
meh, I think its a case of differing semantics. either way, the Ka50 can autorotate as easily as an apache or cobra: it is bi-product of an efficient rotor cone; it is a technique; it is a safety feature... and here is a good demonstration of it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdcW8ht75ns
