I saw insurgency warfare being mentioned somewhere and thought that it would be a perfect addition since there will be heli's in DCS. It would be a nice alternative to expensive-military-hardware VS expensive-military-hardware combat so I was very positively surprised when I found this: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=28941&highlight=insurgent Can you provide any more info on this Insurgent faction? "armed with a mix of eastern and western equipment" it sais but I'm guessing they won't have tanks, no? Aircraft, no? What kind of vehicles will they have? Any normal cars? Is there a varied selection? If AI people is still on the list of features, can you place insurgents on the ground being able to fire rocket launchers and small arms fire? Something that would be cool is if you could make the cars able to explode at a set time or when they feel threatened or when a convoy is passing by like a suicide bomb or car bomb.

Many seem to think that all nuclear weapons are one-size-fits-all. There are smaller tactical nukes with not a bigger blast radius than a powerful conventional bomb. Just want to point that out. As I said I wouldn't mind seeing one in DCS (if they can get the data they need for it which I doubt) but of course there are hundreds of more important things with higher priority.

Wouldn't it be even more pointless to add them if we couldn't carry them? You could just pretend that the bombers you're intercepting are carrying nukes.

I remember playing a demo of a sim long ago which had it and it was sort of fun. I would like to see it in DCS, just a smaller tactical nuclear weapon, but I'm not sure it's possible considering the data they'll need to model it properly. If they add it, it would probably be the best that to drop one you have to set an attack point on the map and request permission (and wait for response) to launch when you're at your target or something.. It would suck having everyone flying around with nukes as a last resort weapon to take everyone nearby with them when they get hit.

I re-activated my old account and I really hate this game but at the same time I love it. Could maybe be something worth taking a look at while we wait for DCS, or at least during this week if you're bored. It usually costs $15 or something / month, I don't remember exactly. The graphics are ancient, but still there's something that makes it enjoyable.. sometimes. Anyway I probably won't keep playing after this week. Oh and I should probably say don't expect any fancy cockpits or flightmodels...
