well, based on my flights on sa342 and l-39 with my front seat pal, I would say flying the bird with another real guy in the cockpit is something else, just imagine the atmosphere of cockpit during tight dogfights. oh man it's going to be awesome. chit chats and comms in between two real guys in cockpits, that's why I would fly tomcat instead of hornet in servers if my flying buddy is available for the front seat.

I hope one day somebody take that picture ;);););) IRIAF tomcats and Street tomcats together

I totally trust heatblur on the paint job...they know how to create really awesome repaints..totally agree with the middle eastern map, but to be honest I really think the western iran-iraq-kuwait and northern KSA map would be way better, there had been so many wars happening there since the early 80's beginning with Iran-Iraq conflict, anyway...this is not the place to discuss about the map ;);)

really happy you liked photos, got a bunch of nice photos and videos in my archive uploading here later

I myself would really love to see those weathering on the radome and the other parts modeled in the dcs version (radome weathering is way worse in the IRIAF blue tomcat scheme):cry::cry:

Hi every one In this thread I'm going to upload some tomcat footages that many of us might have not seen before, and if available just a little bit of background on that footage. Source of my photos are mostly from my friends channel of telegram ( a very popular messenger in Iran), if you ever started using this app please go and give him a subscribe he usually post really rare and unseen photos sent to him mostly by Air force veterans or active pilots. @IRIAFKHALATBARI There might (and I'm sure there will be) some doubts on some of those background stories but if you want to start a discussion on the approval, please do it briefly. thank you all And here we get back to the tomcats: IRIAF ace pilot, Gen Fazlollah Javidnia standing next to 3-6020 Tomcat he had 4 confirmed kills during Iran-Iraq conflict 3-6020 tomcat was the first tomcat to shoot an Aim54 to a mig25 and force him to cancel his mission. ================================= Another lovely tomcat in the base :D:D:D:D ============================== Tomcat with the 3-6039 tail number Some sources confirms that it had the most long range A-A kill (150Km s) using Aim54 against Mirage f1 ===================== And last one for today: https://www.dropbox.com/s/7a14x2voj7ur2ds/240910807.mp4?dl=0 some really nice footage of tomcats with some lovely music in the background ===========================

Well, 70-80 or 100 seems too much to me when compared to other DCS modules, but when I look at other simulation platforms and I see the price tags for study level addons, 70 or 80 dollars wouldn't change my mind about buying the hornet so much but 100 dollars just for the plane without the carrier module? well my answer would be a big big NO with that pricing policy!!!!!

thank you, I really hope that our former team becomes active again some day but I don't really see that day on my scope any time soon.

Hi this thread started by me, in screenshot part of forum used to be a place to upload the I.S.G VFW photos, but, by now the team has totaly stopped all of it's official activities including website, team speak and any other servers, training and missions, so please remove this screenshot thread for me as I couldn't find any way to do it thanks former I.S.G | DUKE (0514) former head of the team former leader of 14th sq (I.S.G VFW)

Guess the same might apply for hornet then. both aim-120c and aim9x plus JHMCS :lol::lol::lol::lol:

If this (look and designate points on ground) option is going to implanted in dcs it's going to be really awesome I can't even think how easier the ground job would be with this option.:pilotfly:
-
that's going to be awesome.... Aim9X and JHMCS, I'm going to revenge every single r73s shot to me in the most unpredictable angles :lol::lol::lol:
-
I don't really have much info on HMCS and sidewinder X, but wouldn't it be useless to implant HMCS without the sidewinder X? I don't really know much about usage of these 2 systems just asking to know.

well, some times ago my friends were into killing those ships like moskva and other modern heavy armed to teeth ones using su-25t and it's sead capabilities by simply locking the radar up (yeah I know totally crazy but that's absolutely fun:lol::lol::lol:) , we usually used to fly in a package consist of 3su-25s 1 a-10c and maybe 2 or 1 fighters, the tactic was simple, fly low enough to make those stupid missiles end up in the sea shoot 18 missiles from 3 air crafts (kh25mpu and kh58u) from 20kms away.. turn around, and wait for the missiles to heat, and then let the hog to finish the job. it some sort of works but that's totally stupid to do , in one of our early tests the 25s didn't make it to the ship but our hog driver did, he actually did put some bullets in the boat body before being sawed into 2 pieces by the defense guns :megalol::megalol::megalol::megalol::megalol:

Not really that much, I'm not even into tomcat, my main flying type would be hornet:):):):), but well, tomcat is a legend to me, a hero. I was just sharing those strange test photos on forum I never thought Heatblur would simulate it, man those guys know how to do it.

There are not much of those lovely birds left here, say they overhauled the plane, they say they developed an aim54 based missile, but due to air force being nasty about those data, no one can confirm or reject those statements. In my point of view those capabilities are not cool at all, they show how terrible was the shortage of sources during the war. I really agree with the part that they would film it to show it to the world, but there's one fact, the usage of mim23 return to the era of Iran Iraq conflict and considering the issue of classification and not having much of powerful medias and recording devices during the war, I can give it some chance that it actually happened and got couple of kills in action, in one of non English topic somewhere else I could find some simple explanations on how they matched the tomcat and mim23 as they guidance and launch systems fundamentally differ, I couldn't find any movie or other footage on that. thanks Alireza

On the topic of Iranian Tomcats & Russian Weapons
Atooyi replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Dear Heatblur, what you're trying to do with weapon expansion is really appreciated, if you are not able to find the accurate enough data on modification on both weapon systems and extended weaponry (which is what I guess will probably happen as IRIAF is a little bit nasty about those data even though they are nothing too classified),as many said, it's not that necessary do the job mostly on guess work, at-least in our DCS society (IR) almost every one's going to buy tomcat, no matter what, it's some sort of a legendary bird to us, I myself would prefer hornet as my main flying type, but for 2 reasons, I'll buy tomcat at first day, first, this bird did an awesome job protecting my country from invasion of Iraq and all of us Iranians, owe it, 2nd: this module is developed by heat-blur ( or called it leather neck before) and I really love how they developed their other modules. P.S: For the 10th time, every one, there's only one photo and evidence of Persian cats ( tomcats) carrying those Russian missiles, nothing else rather than that can be found, because they decided that there's going to be no need for tomcats to carry those anymore, been there done that, you won't find anymore data Russian being carried by tomcats . http://jangaavaran.ir/7872-2/
