Did one ever read the article that was linked here?

    I quote:

"Does that mean that your frame rate is limited by your screen’s refresh rate? No; they are two separate things. Remember that FPS is how many frames your custom gaming PCs is producing or drawing, while the refresh rate is how many times the monitor is refreshing the image on the screen. The refresh rate (Hz) of your monitor does not affect the frame rate (FPS) your GPU will be outputting. However, if your FPS is higher than your refresh rate, your display will not be able to display all of the frames your computer is producing, so although the refresh rate doesn’t technically limit the frame rate, it does effectively set a cap."

    and later:

If the frame rate your computer is producing is different (either higher or lower) than the refresh rate of your monitor, you may experience a glitch known as screen tearing, where information from two or more frames is shown in a single screen draw.

The Monitor refresh rate (Hz) alone will never limit the FPS you can get! You all have to understand that, because if not, you will point in the wrong direction for a possible fix.

You have to understand, it's possible to put more than two single Frame information (FPS) in one single screen draw (Hz). Hz alone will never limit your FPS, there must be always a separate tool doing that.

If you can't find the tool (Vsync) in the game settings or the GPU settings, most of the time it's an FPS limiter (FPS != Hz) coming with OC-Tools like MSI-Afterburner (RivaTuner).

I would guess your problem had something to do with a game specific setting in the GPU drivers for DCS. How'd you fixed it, I don't know, but I know by 100 % it wasn't the refresh rate of your Monitor alone. 😉

Of course your PC will render more than the displays refresh rate, dont recall anyone ever stating anything otherwise. The "actual FPS" is limited by your monitors refresh rate, thats flat out a hardware limitation. Sure your fps counter will be accurate, but it only reflects the actual commands to draw sent to the video card and not the monitor. The monitor is not an input hardware, its the end result of the computation. I would dare say thats why you get tearing as they dont sync up 100% unless you put in an FPS limit or vsync. You arent going to see any more than what the monitor says you can see.

  2. Yes, if your course line is set at 000, you need to approach the target from its 180 heading 0 (i think) in PP. You also need to make sure that your fuses are set, your release type is set to AUTO, and...its been a while since I last flew the -18, but what is CLAR? That must be the Paveway 3.

    Hello together!
I love this program. But I have a little problem and no idea how to tackle it.
Especially with the Apache, but also a little less pronounced with the Gazelle, the vibration of the main rotor starts too early. I see the rotor blades still spinning very slowly, but I already get the vibrations getting faster and faster. Is there any way to slow down the acceleration of the vibrations?

I asked that very same question but under different circumstances. Depending on what you have, but if its just a jetpad then no. I wanted to slow down the fire rate for aircraft guns...wish it would happen, but not sure they can.

Has anyone had issues with the F-104G? It is no were to be found in the aircraft drop down. Only the S and C. Historical filter is off, and the G shows up on the main menu instant action.

Look down towards the end of the dropdown menu, youll see it listed as VSN F104 or something like that. If its not showing up for you, then probably reinstall it, but before doing so make a new mission from scratch and see if it appears in the dropdown menu.

  5. I still kind of wonder if those double missile racks on the CFT are going to be included. Those look like they were pulled off an F-18 and wouldnt be too hard to configure into the software. Then again I wonder if they will make use of the racks that are on the upper outboard side of the CFTs for more AMRAAMs. It WILL hold a bunch of AIM120Ds when they come into service and it WILL be a missile truck for stealth aircraft...so many questions. My biggest question is how well it maneuvers. The original F-15EX model was supposed to be a single seater, but they retained the back guy because they plan to implement at some point a UAV wingman like the MQ-28 Australia is buying and they need someone to fly it.

Imho the Supercarrier is already worth the money, and let's not forget it will get even better with the ready room and air boss station.

I will never forget the first time I had a cat shot from the Supercarrier (in VR)

(I wish we had an interactive ground crew / chief implemented for land based cold starts, but that is another story)

Im not sure why we need the ready room. Everything else, yeah...but the ready room? Thats where the Phantom Sh1tter hangs out at 1am.

You must have missed the photo of the new inboard quad pylon.

    QUAD DAMAGE!!!!

Those F-15EX guys are going to be playing airquake for real now.

Ive never seen an F-15EX with quad missile racks attached and I work next to the F-15EX assy line. Theres only 5 in existence at the moment, and most of them are on the assembly line.
I will admit I am in the process of finding out what its payload will be specifically, but the only thing I see the F-15EX aircraft loaded up with are dual pylon stations on both wings and an internal weapon bay mounted inside the CFT. Obviously there will be external hard points on them too. Im actually trying to get transferred off the MQ25 program over to the F-15EX line...heres to hoping I get there.

    Did you set it?

Put it somewhere else and create a shortcut?
I will see if I can code a way for it to inherit it's own filename and relay that to the function that scans for the app's filename.

But I think I looked into this with the old app and never was able to come up with a solution.

Tried that, for some odd reason I had to redo everything.

Mine just stopped wokring. I had a powerout while it was on, and now it's dead, very dead, neither simshaker for aviators or simshaker wings will let me run get the motors tested.

funny you mention it, Ive been having similar problems but with the rotary and power switch unit. Its practically brand new, but the past few weeks just it sitting straight down from my chair seems to be tugging at a cable somewhere and creating an open circuit. You might have to check the board and see if anything fried: popped capacitors, bulging capacitors, resistors that might be blown...I couldnt identify my problem, but since I pulled it apart I havent really had a problem either.

  10. I was using the guided missile training lesson and encountered a few issues with the mission. First I couldnt get Petrovich to see and designate any targets while the aircraft was in active pause, and the big one was when Petrovich was ordered to fly he just kept rotating around the vertical axis. He just kept spinning around in a circle at start and wouldnt stop. Track included, but cant guarantee it plays for anyone.

    petrovich wonky training mission missiles.trk
