  1. Yeah, I've been having trouble with all flight recordings on all my aircraft since I got my new computer and updated DCS to the latest patch. It makes it very difficult trying to see where I've gone wrong on a landing or in a fight when the track shows I didn't even takeoff and just slid off the runway.
  2. The more I look at the models and the video the more I really hope it can be produced well. I've been hoping for a Chinese, South Korean, or Japanese plane. DCS is sorely lacking in Asian air power.
  3. Considering how well the M2000C came out, I'll need to save up a lot of money. :D I'll be buying every single one of those modules.
  4. Count me in. This aircraft is still in use in several countries. I'd love to be able to fly it. :joystick:
  5. Sorry it took me so long to reply. My wife and I were out of town the last three days. Diemos and BitMaster, you guys are close. I wasn't using Alt+Ent but there was an error in Windows 10 itself that was making some background app supersede DCS. I actually fixed the issue while trying to take care of another problem I was having with Windows. I ended up going to regedit and changing ForegroundLockTimeout to decimal. After that I haven't had any problems with DCS at all. Thanks for all the help guys.
  6. After some experimentation this is what I found: I can gain control back by left clicking the mouse but that only lasts for 4 - 5 minutes each time (makes it very difficult in a fight or trying to land). I also tried a different game and didn't have the same problem so I don't think it's Windows acting up, although I could very much be wrong.
  7. It happens with everything. I've tried the F-15C, Mig-29S, A-10A, M-2000C, and the F-5E 3. It first happened with the A-10A yesterday. Then I tried the Mig, the Mirage, the Tiger II, and the Eagle.
  8. I've come across this problem for the last 2 days. I'll pick a mission I made in mission editor, Start the engine (or the first engine if there's two), and then.... no control. I can look around using the mouse for FC3 planes or move the yellow + around if it's a clickable cockpit but the keyboard and stick are useless. I can't even exit unless I use ctrl alt del. that seems to be the only keyboard function that works after the engines start. I repaired dcs using command prompt... no joy. I restart the computer and it works for one session but if I turn it off and start up again later.... same thing. Anyone have a clue what the problem is? I'm using a brand new laptop: Cyberpower VR XPLORER X7, I7 7700K 4.2 Ghz, GTX 1080, 16 GB RAM, 2 TB HDD. Everything considered there shouldn't be a problem running DCS.
  9. I've been having major problems with this too. What are your curve settings?
  10. I think I figured it out. If the rudder is turned just half way or less it works perfectly. However, if the rudder is turned to the extreme (which is what I was doing in the track because I was leaving a hanger) then it'll slip and go straight. Its curious that I never had that issue before now. At least I know that it's not a bug and it was how I was controlling the plane.
  11. I've tried at different speeds and the same thing keeps happening. I'll go slow and then it'll just slip and go straight. I'll go faster and the same thing will happen just not as soon. It's very strange considering that I used to fly this plane all the time and never had any issue like this at all. I'll try a few more times at different speeds to see. The nose wheel is in it's resting position. I don't lift it up or engage the strut until I'm on the runway and at a dead stop so that shouldn't be an issue. It's a very odd situation.
  12. It's been a while since I last flew the F-5E3 and I came across a problem that I never had before. When trying to taxi I'll F-5 will move normally then suddenly it'll just stop turning and will just move straight regardless that the nose wheel steering button is held down and the rudder button is still held down. I reviewed the track I saved after the 4th failed taxiing attempt and the nose wheel is turned but the F-5 will not follow it. Since I've never had the problem before I can only assume it's a bug. I haven't seen anyone else mention this problem yet. F5E3TaxiProblem.trk
  13. Yup, exactly right. With the Mig-29 (and F-15C) you need to use the analog HSI first to get you lined up and then use the green circle to keep you on track. ;) It took me a very long time to figure it out but now I can use the Mig without a problem (as long as I'm not going up against an F-15. In that case 50-50 I'm bailing out).
  14. From my understanding that's how the real Mig-29's are. From what I read elsewhere it's because the HUD has a pretty high failure rate in the Mig-29's (not sure how true that is but that's what I read). There used to be an MFD change option where you can get the radar screen to show up instead of the HUD repeater but they took it off a long time ago. Maybe for realism sake. I miss having the option though.

    F5 or mig 21 ?

Ah, there's my other issue. I don't like to waste ordinance so I never eject what I didn't use and I usually have plenty of fuel left over. I wonder if that's my problem with the F-15C also. I keep damaging the landing gear on that one (if I can even get it to stop on the runway at all, that is :music_whistling: ). I usually come down at about 5m/s. That's a big problem too. I typically use Batumi for my practice runs. Guess I should switch to Minvody for now until I get semi decent. :joystick:

    F5 or mig 21 ?

Thanks for the help. Looking at the list I'd say my problem is #2 and #4. I have a hard time keeping it at 400 kmh. I always keep seeing it drop to 300 or even 200. I try to recover but it's already too late. Another problem I have is that when I turn the auto pilot off to try and land it the wings keep dipping and I'm way off the mark at that point. I can't quite get it.

    F5 or mig 21 ?

I'll give it that; it's certainly a tough bird. The landings are just killing me though. :joystick: Since I had the Mig-21 I've only landed it 3 times (twice last night) and even then only once did the wheels stay on. All the other times it's just been crash before the runway. The 3 times I "landed" it I didn't bother with the autopilot. How do you land? do you use the autopilot to set you up or do you do it all manually? I really really want to like the Mig-21 but if I can't land it then I'm stuck.

    F5 or mig 21 ?

I have both the Mig-21 and the F-5E. I've had the Mig-21 since 2015 and the F-5E for over a month now. My opinion: go with the F-5. Mig-21: Pros: The Mig-21 is faster it carry radar guided missiles as well as 2 types of nuclear weapons Cons: Visibility is rather poor Handling can be harsh (shacking and engine failure is a problem) Landing (for me) is nearly impossible. Even the tutorial doesn't help in that respect and the autopilot is only slightly helpful  :helpsmilie: F-5E: Pros: The F-5E is easier to fly Air to Ground attacks it does carry GBU-12s and they are nice once you learn how to JTAC Landing is very easy with the F-5E I've never had an engine failure. Cons: The F-5E is slower than the Mig-21 It only carries 2 AIM-9s for Air to Air combat I've found the radar is more of a liability than a help when going against other fighters So, for me F-5E :pilotfly: Mig-21 :chair:
