Yeah, I've been reading the threads and there's a lot that seems to be wrong with it. :P Typically they release a module to stable after a week so I figured it would be some time in the next few days. :P But if it takes that long at least we'll have a semi-stable version to deal with instead of a problematic one.

For right now. The Su-33 should be released on the stable version some time this week. :smilewink:

Su-33 and Mig-29S pulling to the side while taxiing
kelpie replied to kelpie's topic in Su-33 for DCS World
The thing is, thrust is the same. The Mig-29A runs fine as well as all the other aircraft. The 29S and 29G are the only 2 in 1.5.7 that drift left while taxiing. So thrust shouldn't be an issue for just those 2 variants. Especially since the G and A models use the same engines. As for terrain, that would only work if it drifted in a certain direction all the time (ex: east) and only on certain airfields. In this case the 29S and G are only drifting left and on every single airfield no matter what direction I'm going. I don't think the terrain is shifting under my plane so it's always leaning to the left. :P I have to wait for the PFM Su-33 to get released on 2.1 before I can see if it has the issue still. It runs the same engines as the Su-27 and the 27 doesn't have drift but the 33 does. So the thrust can't be an issue there either. Also the 33 drifts in the same direction no matter if I'm taxiing north, south, east, or west. So, again, terrain can't be the issue either. -
Su-33 and Mig-29S pulling to the side while taxiing
kelpie replied to kelpie's topic in Su-33 for DCS World
The only problem is it's not very realistic. If I had wind set to anything other than 0 I would agree, but I don't. I also used several different airfields in 1.5.7 and tried with no weapons loaded and the 29S and (I found a few days ago) the 29G always pulls to the side no matter what. It wouldn't be so bad if I had pedals for the rudder and steering, I could just compensate. But since pedals are not sold in my area (I was lucky to get the T.Fllight Stick X I have) I'm stuck until this is fixed. I'm just waiting for 2.5 and the PFM for the Mig-29 before I say anything more about it. :smilewink: -
It's kind of funny. I had this happen to me in 1.5.7 sp. I landed my M-2000C, went into a hanger, called for a repair and the same thing happened. I was dumped on top of the hanger and promptly rolled off and damaged the plane once again when I hit the ground. :P The ground crew had to be mad at me.

I don't think they ever said what day it would be released. They just said September. So, technically they have a week to get it out. :P Edit: Here's what Racoon said in his post: "Su-33 for DCS World Coming Soon Su-33 for DCS World is now available for pre-purchase! Normally priced at $14.99 USD, the Su-33 will be discounted to $11.99 while in pre-purchase, a 20% savings. The Early Access release is set for late-September 2017." So... yeah, give it a week. :smilewink:

That would seriously limit the number of potential customers for all 2 seat aircraft modules. Not everyone lives in areas that have good enough internet connectivity to fly multiplayer and there are people who don't want to fly multiplayer at all. Some kind of AI is needed for the back seat, especially with the F-14 having the radar back there, for those who play single player.
-
Would give the pilots a hell of a scare though.
-
Yeah it used to fire 1 and if the trigger was held down firing the second one. I think it was 1.5.5 or 1.5.6 that was changed to firing both at once.:smilewink: I was surprised by it too at first. The manual doesn't say if it should be 2 at once or 1 at a time. :( Edit: Chuck's Guide says it fires 2 in rapid succession but it was written back in 2016. Even his landing technique doesn't work anymore without causing major bouncing and damaging the landing gear. Now you have to flare the plane at the last second or 2 so the UUA goes to 20 degrees just to make it with no damage. :smilewink:

Well, I guess the plus side of having been a Soviet republic was being multi-lingual. :P I really hope they do accurately depict the cockpit of all the migs (especially the G). It's really strange to be in the A, G, or S and not seeing any difference except if attempting to use the ECM. :P
-
Ah, that I didn't know. :P I figured a German aircraft would have German words. Makes me wonder what the first migs East Germany had displayed in their cockpits. :D Would it be Russian then? I doubt the Soviets would put English in the planes for their associated republics. :smilewink:
-
I can't wait for it either. :smilewink: I just hope they bring back the different cockpits for each version of the Mig rather than leaving it where it is with all 3 models using the S variant cockpit. The G cockpit should have German written in it rather than Russian. :P It also needs an East German skin. :D But I do like the fact it says "Shoot" and "Left/right engine fire" in German now. When I last used it (a year ago) it was only speaking in English. :P

Watching that video makes me very eager to see how the new Su-33 PFM is going to be landing on the carrier. ;)
-
Probably both. :P Especially if the setting is in the hot summer then it really needs a lot of airflow to cool it down. :smilewink:

Copy, Paste, Saved. :D Great information. I'll need to give them a try. Thanks. :D I haven't tried those missions yet. :P I'll need to give them a try. :smilewink: I haven't bought the Viggen yet. I've been saving up for the F-14 and Mig-19 first. :smilewink: I'd love to try online multiplayer but with the bad internet in my area of SE Asia i'd never get more than a few minutes on before it would conk out. :P Ah, that makes sense. :smilewink: I was trying to make him stall but I guess I did it to myself. :P

I tried to experiment with the afterburner and emergency afterburner to get some decent data but the engine continuously flamed out so I couldn't get any concrete information to show. I use the low yo-yo maneuver to get in close to my target but I never use it to get away from an enemy. I'm usually too busy trying to get him in-front of me to take him out... or crash into him at least. I never run away. :P I know the emergency afterburner isn't going to act like a solid rocket burner sending the plane into lower orbit. :D But it seems strange that the mig won't speed up when it's on during a climb (I tried it out with a P-51 on my tail. I flipped the switch and the 51 stayed on me and I never got further away from him while in a 30 to 40 degree climb). I just seems odd that it doesn't help even a little against a prop plane. :P

In single player we'll be able to "hop" in the rio seat and the Jester AI will take over flying the plane in very simple maneuvers only. I'll try to find the exact post.
-
Sounds great. :D Can't wait to read them.

I never play multiplayer. :P The internet in my area is now where near good enough to do it. :smilewink: You can post the link to the thread you were talking about so we can see what everyone said. Maybe you can share a story on your best (or worst) moments flying the Mig-21. :D We'd love to hear it along with what tactics you used (or what you should have used in hindsight). :smilewink:
-
the Mig-19 is looking better and better. :D I can't wait to fly this one. :D
-
Yeah, I'm with you on that one. I never even notice when I'm on second stage afterburner unless I'm in F2 view and see it for myself. :P I also have to have my nose pointed down in order to out run an F-5 so I think it's underpowered too. But there are still a lot of bugs with the Mig-21 right now. :smilewink: I hope those bugs get worked out after Magnitude is done with their current project. :D The Mig is too good to be left in a buggy state. :smilewink:
-
I've read it too. I just hope they make it so when an enemy AI is damaged they don't fly along as if nothing happened. If I start bobbing around due to a little damage on my wing they should be bobbing around if there's a hole in theirs. Here's an example of an AI P-51 I damaged and he still could fly straight & level and, as seen in the screenshot, make perfect turns to follow waypoints. I took just a little damage to the wing of my Fw-190 and could barely keep it from spinning during a fight with a Spitfire.

+1 I prefer 50's - 90's over 30's - 40's but M3 and others shouldn't be discouraged from making WW2 planes... A thought, though, would be to even out how many developers work on WW2 planes with how many developers work on others at any given time. That way no single demographic is left out while every developer works on one type of plane. :smilewink:
