  1. so you wont be able to designate a train as a mission objective either? are there trains at all and how is there appearing simulated? do they have a fixture or are the appearing by random?
  2. I am fine with 2008. better than postponing it every week over and over and then release a game full of bugs. there are so many other games coming around that will make the wait very comfortable for me.
  3. I doubt that the game will be released this year
  4. I cant find the sandbox screen :(
  5. I know I would use the wiki a lot cos I know I will have tons of questions while trying to master the shark on 100% realism level. awesome idea
  6. I would love to fly the F14 in naval operations with carrier landings and so on. loved F14 Fleet Defender a lot! Never forget the night landings on the carrier :)
  7. will there be system failure simulated? I know that you can set in the editor that with a probability of 50% something gets a mailfunction. but is this the only way to get mailfunctions or does testing the systems and watching the gauges have a reason finally? you can get system failures without mission editor settings and hostile attack?
  8. I have the TrackIR4 and I wont fly without it any more. Its great. You need 1-2 hours to get used to it and once you have adjusted the sensitivities and deadzones its awesome. And once the Apache module is out we can aim with our head ;)
  9. another very nice video. you have the best community interaction/communication I have ever experienced and I need to say thx for this. I cant wait to spend my bucks on this sim.
  10. there have already been apache and a10 screens posted? where?
  11. I am dreaming of a naval f14 sim since fleet defender ten years ago.
  12. I got some more questions - how detailed will the weather model be? will there be rain/turbulences/snow/storm? - will there be night missions? - will there be ai aircraft in the first dcs release?
  13. isnt the ka-50 black shark also called - Hokum? Or am I missing something?
  14. well having the sim providing me a mission does not interfere with wanting a complex sim. I could play HAWX on my PS3. But since I found this place over here you can guess what I am interested in most. :) building missions can be fun but flying your own created missions isnt. at least for me. every surprise is missing.
  15. thx for the welcome. thats a very poor situation you are describing. and I must confess I dont spend way as much time as you into planing my flights. but its not the missions that are superior in a dc. its the feel of a real battlefield. knowing that when you destroy that sam, mig, bridge or runway it is gone. knowing that everytime a unknown threat can cross your flightplan. seeing all the other ai aicraft flying their own missions. beeing able fly around and knowing there is a war going on even without your interactions. I cant remember the initial status of the dc system on f4 release. was it really that buggy? did all the great coders (FF etc.) update the dc system really that much? I thought that they tweaked it only and most of the work was done to avionics and other stuff.
  16. well I feel very suprised in the f4 dc though enemy ac can be everywhere. of course a dynamic generated mission cannot compete in terms of quality with a well designed manually created mission. but the like you stated: its more about the complete world. it gives you the feeling of beeing a very small piece in a whole war machinery instead of beeing rambo. if DCs new campaign system gives us at least some randomized situations it will be a step forward. further I hope that the community will be big enough and there will be many user created campaigns
  17. thx wags. I am looking forward to it and looking forward to black shark. I will buy it anyway cos my hunger for a real hardcore sim besides falcon is too high. :)
  18. I do not remember how buggy it was at the release. thats not my point. but I am not a mission builder. I want to fly non repeatable missions and not build missions where every aspect of a surprise is lost cause I know every action that will take place on my mission.
  19. Where is the problem in developing a Falcon4 style like dynamic campaign? I dont get it. Falcon 4 was released 8 years ago and set the standard. The non dynamic campaign was the only reason why I did not buy lockon. I am a software developer myself and even though I know that its harder and takes more time to develop such a great dynamic campaign system it is nothing that is impossible!
