Most certainly I have the same Asus P5K Premium mobo and I am running between 3.6 and 3.8GHz, I cannot imagine ever running 2.4GHz stock. You have an ideal system for overclocking, as many of those E8400 will reach around 4GHz on air cooling. I can run some quick tests to quantify the difference in FPS between 2.4GHz and 3.6GHz later tonight if you want. Let me know if you need any further help as I have worked with this board for a while.

Safety problem with counter rotating blades ?
GTengineer replied to golfsierra2's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
That accident had NOTHING to do with ground effects. It is very obvious it was a botched landing. After he set it down he tried to correct it and he was stuck while going over. -

Nah, pretty sure it flaps up on 9 o'clock. I have it in my book but here is a quick online reference. This happens because there is a 90 degree phase angle between aero forces and flapping as explained in the bold comment below. http://www.dynamicflight.com/aerodynamics/flapping/ :) -
Safety problem with counter rotating blades ?

sulan is right though, the retreating blade flaps up if I remember correctly (it has been many years since I took my rotorcraft class). In traditional helos in the USA convention (counter clockwise rotation looking from above as the F-15 in my avatar) this occurs on the 9 o'clock position. The opposite rotating blade would flap up at the other 3 o'clock position. I don't know much about the KA-50 as I am not a rotohead but the blade dynamics and technology being used to control them must be nothing short of amazing. -
^^^ agreed Same as what Crysis is today :D I prefer LOFC trees to IL2 though. In IL-2 they look good from up high but once you get down low they look more like umbrellas.

LOL when you're good ... you're good ;) Working like a charm.
-
Thanks for fixing the error DArt, I tried the latest nightly and it is working fine for me it seems.
-
The problem is that my Q6600 even at 3.6 and 3.8GHz I notice slowdowns in LOFC when taking off from a busy airfield surrounded by a lot of city/objects (granted the Penryn like E8600 are slightly faster than my Kentsfield clock per clock). The FPS sometimes drop down to 25 FPS which is very noticeable after being used to a much higher FPS average. This is also more apparent and noticeable with TrackIR. BTW this is with all graphic settings on high though, and multiple graphics mods .... I am hard to please I know.

I am switching back to dual core (something like E8600) as soon as I finish my thesis and have no need for Quad anymore. These E8600 have been overclocking to 4.5-5GHz. Absolutely insane for LOFC and BS :D http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=197505

Flanker 1.5 but I didn't really fly it much. Once I jumped in to Flanker 2.0, I started flying it a bit more.
-
Good point, I may buy it as soon as it comes out too even if I devote more time to LOMAC. Only however if some of my real big issues with LOMAC are taken care of, won't go into them here.
-
Because there is really nothing else out there. I am not putting down BS, I am just not interested in helicopters much. I'm somewhat interested in an AH-64D module if we were able to fly pilot/navigator in multiplayer and share workload with a buddy. Besides LOMAC will keep me busy for a very long time as I just got it a few months ago.
-
same here I will probably wait for the jet modules.
-
DArt, email sent with log file. It is indeed giving an error in the log file. Cheers.

There is no sense in upgrading your system for a game that we're still not 100% sure when it will arrive. I would save my money and wait till the time arrives and by then you will be able to get far better hardware for lower price. Even if the waiting means only 6 months, the way technology is moving it is all outdated by the time it ships to your home. BTW what kind of hardware do you currently have? When the time comes I would go with a high clocking dual core like the E8600 which has been overclocking madly. Hopefully it will come down in price when Nehalen arrives :D E8600 4.9GHz on air cooling http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=199295

No I do not have any A2A weapons mods, only visual mods. I will send you the file later on tonight (or morning for you :D ).

I'll try again tonight but yes I was selecting the plane on the tree and then selecting the "Plane" tab. It was not working with any plane other than A-10. P.S. I am using the nightly version. Cheers.
-
DArt, I have been playing with LOME for a few hours and it all looks awesome. However I am having a problem when I add a group, I am unable to modify the "Plane" tab unless I have chosen an A-10 in the SubGroup. For example if I change A-10 to F-15C, I can no longer change things like skill of the specific plane, or payload (Plane tab is all grey). In fact all "Plane" tabs are greyed out for all airplanes except A-10. Not sure if this is a bug or if I am just doing something wrong.
-
oh WOW awesome! I will give it a try tonight! Thanks for the hard work!

Maybe, Russian bullet seekers have higher azimuth limits? :D

Oh GOD reading the word MATLAB gives me nightmares. I have been starring at the same MATLAB code for the last 2 years of my thesis :helpsmilie: :megalol: Back on topic though :D

I was referring about the basic things, like "don't blow me up please". How will this cripple a PC? BTW I have nothing against friendly fire in certain situations but not in cases like this when u get blown up in formation.
-
I'm sorry but that is nonsense. Like I said ATF (Advanced Tactical Fighters) back in 1997 had an AI that puts LOMAC to shame. There was nothing extrordinary about its AI, they followed no tactics or did anything that made you go "wow, but they were not morons. This! oh man this brings back memories :D

Yep, that is exactly what was happening. I was in front of him the solution ... send him wall before sending him to attack. Still ridiculous that you have to micromanage so many things that should be taken for granted like don't explode your wing leader in front of you. Another funny thing I found is that say you have a flight of 4 and u go wall and there are bandit at your 2-3 o'clock. You cannot order say wingman 3 to attack before ordering wingman 4 to attack because the genius (wingman 3) will simply bank right and slam into wingman 4.
