  11. The first picture from the paint shop. A long job indeed ! :)
  12. What must be known : -> Major blue-prints or line drawings are scanned form paper documents. This process cause ALWAYS alterations in shapes and angles. -> Once you loaded your documents in photoshop, be sure the profiles are fully horizontal with the measure tool. How I proceed to begin a 3D model : -> I create a plane of the exact dimensions (length x wingspan) of the model. Ex : for the Gripen, a 8.40m x 14.10m plane. -> The, I extrude two edges at the exact height (4.50m). This gave me a simple model with three planes. I unwrap, export as image, and fit exactly the blue-prints as the UV limits (shown here in red) : Now, I've just to apply this texture in my 3D tool, and I can easily begin working ! Hope this will help. :)
  13. I consider the modelisation as finished now. All other details will be added with textures. The model will now join the painting workshop to receice correct wardrobe. This will last a long time... ;)

  15. Adding "new" planes in LO Hello, Since ED shared plugins and infos to implement 3D new models, it can be seen more and more talented 3D artists creating new models for all Lockon enthousiast. I won't talk about those who updates existing models (as A-10 or F-15), but new planes "flying" on existing slots. But today, we reached the limit of this system, cause to introduce a new 3D model, we need to sacrifice a existing one, espacialy on flyable aircraft. We can imagine two solutions : -> Creating new slots with existing flight models. Ex : Rafale with Su-33 FM, such as we could use both Rafale and Su. -> Make all models flyable with "HumanCockpit=yes", based on Su-27 FM, but which take care of real model weight, such as avoid "rocket" planes... I know this could cause some problems with network compatibility for those not using same mods, I don't know if a solution can be found. Regards. :)

  17. Of course I will need beta-testers, I will need also translators in swedish, hungarian and czech for final readme. ;) ???? @Janko : excellent document. I have also the payloads per pylon, very useful for Meinit edition to come. And nice 3D model, almost perfect. :) @Teknetinium : the F-16 would be the best choice... if it was flyable ! ;) F-15 is not a bad choice, considering avionics, engine and armament from US/GB origins, but we'll lose A2G abilities. So, we'll have to find plane able to shoot both AGM, AIM and bombs !

  20. I think the truth is between these two posts... ;) There's a balance to find with what will be detailed, and what will be textured. Not so simple ! :wacko: @Monotwix : it seems we work with same schemes... ;) But it's true I thought to make animations before mapping. We'll see later ! Actually, the model owns 17300 faces for 13100 polys. It should not go much higher.

  22. Small updates today. Added some extra details, like antennas, and improved nozzle shape. Still some details to add, and I could try my first export to .lom file before beginning animations.

  24. Specific APU for C/D versions has been added, plus extra pylon under right intake.
