Okay, I got it working! I had to use a phantom monitor fix .exe to make it work???
Anyways, my config files are as follows:
options.lua:
["graphics"] =
{
["multiMonitorSetup"] = "modified",
["color"] = "32",
["heatBlr"] = 1,
["scenes"] = "high",
["water"] = 2,
["fullScreen"] = false,
["visibRange"] = "Medium",
["aspect"] = 1.3333333333333,
["textures"] = 2,
["shadows"] = 3,
["display_mode"] =
{
["avi"] =
{
["bpp"] = 32,
["resolution"] = "640x480",
["full_screen"] = false,
["aspect"] = 1.333333333,
["height"] = 480,
["width"] = 640,
}, -- end of ["avi"]
}, -- end of ["display_mode"]
["effects"] = 3,
["lights"] = 2,
["haze"] = 1,
["terrPrld"] = "20",
["height"] = 1024,
["resolution"] = "2048x1024",
["civTraffic"] = 0,
["width"] = 2048,
}, -- end of ["graphics"]
and modified.lua:
Description = 'modified'
Viewports =
{
Center =
{
x = 0;
y = 0;
width = 1280;
height = 960;
}
}
ABRIS =
{
x = 1280;
y = 0;
width = 768;
height = 1024;
}
Windows setup is as follows:
NView Multimonitor setup with independent screens (it is called DualView)
2nd screen I did a reverse portrait rotation so it displays at 768x1024x60hz
1st screen I have set at 1280x960x75hz
So you run this phantom monitor fix, have those config files setup correctly as above, and I get a vertical ABRIS in portrait mode on my left screen and the game on my right.
The only problem is my framerate has gone to poop. Royally. Like, taken a big turd.
Any ideas? (I'll be shocked if I see a reply)
My system specs:
Q9450
2 Gigs RAM
260 GTX
Windows XP, SP 2
I have a pretty fast system, right? It should be able to hack this just fine. Funny thing is, if I run it in cloneview, I get a much better framerate, but, I can not set the second monitor to portrait view which makes the ABRIS so sexy. Also, I notice that if I try to run fullscreen mode when in Portrait Dualview mode, it crashes.
If I run fullscreen without any dualscreens, it works fine and the framerate is great at maxxed out detail. (well, nearly maxxed).
So, beyond anyone giving me the magic answer to fix the framerate - it SHOULD be really high regardless of that second screen, here is a second question to add to the mess:
Is there a way to export instruments to a second computer, say, similar to F4 GLASS that we use for Falcon 4.0. I could use my laptop to display the goodies and not get a framerate hit at all.
After all, it is only data being pumped out over the network.
