  1. Hi Vixen ! Thanks for your time and the update. Please tell me what is "dl". The only thing that comes to mind is Dynamic Lighting (see prepar3d), something similar to global illumination ? The weapons you see not accelerating is part of the server's configuration. Not a fault or a bug. All the long range missiles are like that (100% "faulty") and from time to time the AIM9Xs with various random failure rates. Aim7s and friends are at the moment at 75 % chances of failure. Cheers !
  2. Hi Etion, company. There should be no mods allowed as we have the integrity checks on. If that can be bypassed, then we have an issue. If you have any known way of a glitch/cheat etc, PM me so I can figure a way to minimize it if possible. I have rebuilt the stores in the 2.4k version of the mission. I was hoping that it could correct any mistakes carried over from previous missions files. We'll see how it goes. Let me know of any issues. I will also look into the crashing of clients, but I had no issues like that for many months now. And I see A LOT of people playing for hours with no problems, so it is something specific to some (unlucky) users. Go figure... Regarding the pic I posted, it's a JF17 flown by the AI. There is no way that this is a player's doing, so there is definitely something wrong. Later !

  4. BrokenArrow, this is a bad thing to say. Sounds vindictive and childish. Anyone can join any server they like, and everybody can make any mission they wish. But STEALING your server's name and pretending they are something they are not, is lame and wrong. And you post an insult like this just because some ppl disagree with your opinion ! Well, Clint put it very nicely : Ahhh... you got to laugh ! PS The YT clip is not meant as a personal remark, it's something for all of US to remember. Cherrs !
  5. Hi ! It is very likely that you are connecting with the current "stable" client (2.5.5.39384) to the Open Beta server (2.5.5.40647). This is (I think by mistake) not blocked when the JF17 came about. In this case many weapons are "rearranged" and all sort of interesting thing may happen on screen :) No cheating or weapon mods... *EDIT* : This is not correct. I have seen this with proper client as well. I hope it's DCS's bug and will be corrected soon.
  6. Hi Vixen Thanks for your time and thoughts. I will take a look at the issues you mention and try to fixi them. Regarding the game-play, it's a big mess, I know, but that's the way we like it ! :) It's not a serious server, serious players do not even cross the door; like those bad ass bad reputation bars, where most of the fun is ! ;) Still as you say 1v1 areas have the guarantee that you play they way you want and you get to kind of choose your opponent along with the rules of engagement ! Enjoy !

  9. Hi eT!0n! Thanks for the time to make a nice and detailed post. All valid points. As all opinions, taken in consideration. I will revisit this issue and I will definitely enable the X's in the 1v1 areas for the 16s and 18s. Especially now that the F18 will break on over-G, it's going towards a more balanced scenario. One side-note regarding opinions : You should be glad that opinions matter in this server. It makes a hell of a difference I believe. Look no further than your own post ! :) Best regards !

  11. Hi Bigenvy, thanks for your help. I can verify the following as of current release (2.5.5.39384) : - Sever running with presence in the browser. - Server disappears from browser, players remain connected and playing fine. - Someone can connect with direct IP connection. - https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com is reachable from web browser on server - The logs contain the "failed with error 28: Timeout was reached" message - Tracert finds the server (pic attached). - dcs.exe is terminated and restarted. - Everything returns to normal. If you need logs let me know. Has been pretty hard keeping the server(s) listed for several months now. I auto-restart the server executable as soon as all players disconnect, but sometimes they remain busy for many hours and disaster strikes... Cheers.
  12. Hi Grimes. It was working on multiplayer up to the last stable version. Once the method was called on the targeted object (weapon), it was just disappearing in a puff of smoke. It seems ED replaced what destroy() does, cause now the missiles launch but they do not track and after a bit only the burner is left running across the map like a comet. I assume they do no good to the server and memory once they become too many. The bombs were also disappearing as soon they were released and never exploded, but now they whistle happy on their way to make friends... I hope it gets fixed or reverted to previous behavior. Very annoying for a dogfight only server. ED may verify this please and give us an update ? Maybe you are kind enough to pull some strings ? Many thanks !
  13. Hi again ! Is this bug reported ? On top of this, destroying nukes does not work anymore. This was fine a couple of OB versions ago. Now it is also migrated to "stable" version (2.5.5.39384). It is very annoying and people abuse it causing issues with on-line gameplay. Please ED people, give us some feedback ! Thanks
  14. Hi there ! Unfortunately the "JUST DOGFIGHT CENTRAL USA" is a bad imitation, fake JDF server. The owner copied the mission and worst of all the name (lame and sad for such a small community...) so I have no control over it. On the two Just-dogfight servers (release and open beta) labels should be on. Cheers !
  15. Hi BrokenArrow ! Thanks for your kind words. 1. I have no idea why this is happening. Most probably a bug. Will investigate and maybe report it. 2. This is a burning issue. I have not formed an opinion yet so everything goes. A few people have commented and it's more on the side that the Xs should not be present. I do understand their point, but I also like them; kind of "learn to deal with it" approach. Obviously a compromise is needed. For now the following scenarios are in the polls : - Remove them from all planes - Remove them from F16s, leave 2 on F18s - Leave 2 on F16s and 2 on F18s (other 2 being 9Ms) - As above but give them a random failure rate eg 35% are failing on launch. The random failure rate mechanism has worked fine for AIM7s and company. Your (and everybody else's) input on this is more than welcome. Please let me know your thoughts. Regarding the 73s, I am afraid that there is no capable alternative for the Russian fighters. On a side-note, I THINK, that even 9Ms do slave to the helmet system, but only for the area through the HUD. This is better than nothing still giving the F16 a (fairer) advantage. Cheers !
  16. Test conditions : Multiplayer server, OB 2.5.5.38140, tested with AIM9X, AIM9M. Calling the destroy() method on a released weapon (eg AIM9X or AIM9L) removes the body of the missile after a bit, but leaves the flame until the mission is reloaded. The flames can be seen traveling across the map:
  17. Hi there ! All the above is spot on. As a side story, there is a --many years long-- bug, where the plane carriers are capable of providing any weapon if you rearm on them, even if you define their stores as empty. So at some stage we had ppl meeting AIM120s, which is a no go weapon for this server. Either Stennis had to go or another way to control the situation was needed. The way it was solved is by having a table of limited weapons. Passive radar types are still allowed, once you land and rearm. But only 25% (at random) are operational. 120s, 54s and Nukes are 100% "faulty" so they just do not go off. Maybe the 9Xs move to this category (failure rate may be different). This may take the advantage off using them and still keep them in the game. Hope this helps !
  18. Thanks for rising above it atazar. At the end if the day, especially our hobbies, is all about putting a smile to our faces. Give your hotas a couple of days, you'll become deadly without even noticing it. It's amazing how muscle memory is built ! Enjoy your new hotas !
  19. Well said Dlegion, we are in total agreement. Especially about the being sporty part ! Still, I have temporarily activated a mission that the F16 do not have them. I may add just 2 out of 4 missiles as Xs to the 16s and 18s. Your opinions are appreciated !
  20. Hi guys ! I know what you mean. I had a quick test and evading the Xs are much harder. I see your point. Still I managed quite a good K/D (3 to 1) against mainly F16s with me flying the good ol' F15. I suggest we leave them a bit longer and see if people learn how to defend against the Xs. It's part of the challenge ! Then we revisit the subject. I have no formed opinion at the moment. Cheers !
