I am looking at the supplied cams (not installed ones) and i can see Heat discoloration on the surfaces of them, you know rainbow effect like you get on surfaces that have been cut with something like a laser or similar heat source. On all sides. Might differ on others batches, but i cannot speak for that.

I hear you. Having worked as a cnc operator in the past, these cams does not look machine cut to me, Stamped or laser, Not waterjetted as that would make nice cuts with no need for finishsing.

Got my base this weekend. As expected there were quality issues, Cams installed were grinded after cutting (laser i presume) the other were not.. Not a major problem for me as i will polish them myself. The pitch cam is glued in tight so i have some issues removing that, will tackle that one later with some heat. will change the screws from philips to hex head ones on the cams at some point, should be on there from factory. Other than that it looks good. I will try it out once i've made an attachment for my monstertech table mount.

I tested mine back and forth with all the springs, they all have contact with the "tensioner" metal on metal noise and marks.

I think hard center and no center. That connector doesn't look to good... The cams look smooth though. I ordered a base only last week and hopefully it will arrive this week. Hoping for the best regarding quality, we'll see.

Are you sure the gazelle was included in that? what does your folder dates say?

Thanks Pat. yes i thought so, well patience is key when it comes to steam.

Did a quick test flight today. I dont think i notice any difference. It still has a strong pendulum effect when trying to hold a bank, like a spring trying to recenter it all the time. Very hard to hold a bank without it either pitching strongly up then heavy nose down when rolling out. Maby my version on steam has not been fixed yet (1.5.7) this is how i remember my first version behaved. Edit: FM folder in game directory shows latest change 2017-07-24

Does the 1.5.7 (steam) have the latest fm changes?

I agree with you mine was probably a tolerance problem from manufacturing. If it was the spring sound only i would probably not care much.

The spring had no clearance between it and the black screw post as seen, and was grinding against it. so when the arm opens it is forcing the spring even more into the post. it is not present on your version.

This was not the case on mine, and his might be of the same batch... the spring had worn down material from the tensioner screw holder. I also have a foam piece inside the spring so it is dead quiet now.

I got my Mkiv's 2 weeks ago, And just as you i heard a high pitch mechanical whining sound when using them. I first thought just the spring but it could also be felt slightly through the pedals. so i held them in my lap and used my hands while holding one finger on the spring, and it went quiet but i could also feel the problem. The spring was touching the spring tensioner screw "post" took them apart and saw marks on the spring and the "post" from grinding. Solution: took a small file and made the tensioner post flat on the side hitting the spring, it is aluminium so it is like butter to file and no real structural compromise. They are now super smooth and quiet, but have to admit it felt kinda bad for such an high quality product. You can probably just remove the tensioner as it will work fine without it.

Ok. I will look into that. Maby i can get the base only and the wh adapter from them, as the base only strangely was not available on aliexpress.

To bad we euro buyers will have to wait a long time for gunfighters. I have been looking at alternate ways to buy one. At the alibaba store i get a price of about 320 ish Eur for Gunfighter + wh adapter inc shipping. This doesn't sound too bad except for the shipping time of 2-3 weeks. I wonder how much more expensive this is compared to the vkb euro shop. Would you wait?

From reading these posts it seems like they have to redesign and improve the cam quality.

Interesting, what kind of cam and springs are you running? I was thinking about getting the gunfighter and use the wh grip before eventualy buying the new grip.

With a long extension i guess?

Looks like the gunfighter and grip will be my next purchase when available in EU. Waiting for VKB pedals to arrive next week. Had enough of TM WH stiction now. Looks like it will be worth the wait.
