  1. That's a super cool pit man. Good luck selling it. If I wasn't on the other end of the continent, I'd be there right now to pick it up all the while feeling guilty for only paying $650 for it.
  2. Multiplayer at these types of events can be pretty difficult to pull off due to the varying quality of available internet access. Sometimes it's adequate, and sometimes it just isn't. As we were manning the Thrustmaster Booth at Oshkosh last year (2018), we experienced only limited success. :(
  3. Well I would have to say disbelief was the most common response. Being at EAA Airventure, the most common observer came from real world aviation and not simulators. Most didn't even know that this kind of technology was anywhere near the realism level that it is. Then they always asked "how much does a set up like this cost?". I'd answer, "take a guess, how much do you think?" To that they would answer, anywhere between $10,000 and $65,000. Oddly, people liked the $65k number, it was a common guess. But, the most impressive response was from Kujo. He flew that slot jet in the demo but he doesn't have VR and had never seen DCS in VR. His face was priceless while he watched that demo in VR for the first time. He took off the HMD after the flight with tears in his eyes (he'll deny that part) and his words were simply... "umm.... f*&K Yes!"
  4. Neat VR track On this topic, we made a quick VR demo to be used at the Thrustmaster booth during Airventure Oshkosh 2018. We baked in the music and comms to the track file so the viewer could experience what the slot pilot was seeing and hearing. It's unfortunate, but once DCS updates to a non compatible version from this track, you will no longer be able to view it. This was created in DCS Open Beta Version 2.5.2.19682 (7/20/2018) It's a flight of four F-15s flying a 5 minute formation aerobatic routine at sunset in and around low broken clouds. The visuals are quite stunning. The Track file can be downloaded here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1F97rHC8rIyEzYoUNRxMWGZ9Vaaus_lf-/view?usp=sharing Does anyone know of a way to play a track file once DCS updates to a new version that breaks compatability? This is a fun ride and it will be a shame to lose it forever once the software updates.
  5. Thank's for your reply, it's really important to see an opposing view from time to time. A view, also, clearly held with such conviction must be one held by so many. Without wonderful insight such as you provide, what would the hundreds of us who regularly use TeamSpeak have done. We would have blindly continued using such a horrible piece of software. ;)
  6. For non FC3 aircraft, you can find the Control Indicator lua file in (L-39 as an example) Mods\aircraft\L-39C\Cockpit\ControlsIndicator\ControlsIndicator_page.lua
  7. I've been able to make changes to the controls indicators of the newer "clickable" cockpit control indicators so they display at different sizes and locations in VR but I can't seem to find a way to do it with the FC3 aircraft. Does anyone have any insight as to where or even if there is a .lua file to edit the FC3 controls indicator? Thanks gang.
  8. A few of us flew on AO 1.5 tonight and although we did experience a lag spike here and there, for the most part it was really smooth.
  9. This is my first post because it's the first time I felt like I had something to contribute. I just received my Jetseat 908 two days ago. I want to say something about it that might be productive to any who might be on the fence. Without getting into too much detail - it's magic. :) I only started flying DCS a few months ago but have been simming for ever, and have been flying formation (for real) since 1991. Apart from VR, this is 'THE' MUST HAVE tool. Recently, I've been flying with a virtual airshow team and tonight, at practice, I was able to fly with the team with the JetSeat for the first time. Apart from the "very coolness" of things like gear up/down ect.. THE "G" EFFECT is by far the most useful thing I could have ever imagined. Of course it doesn't "feel like pulling G's" but it does give me 'A' linear feeling when I'm pulling G's. The brain quickly adjusts and after a few formation loops, I was able to 'feel' exactly how many G's I was pulling / over pulling / under pulling, and when my AOA was too high, too low, and to anything else that was right or wrong. I flew with the team for about 4 hours tonight with the seat working but then had a software crash. Once that happened, I realized how much I have already come to rely on the tactile impulse of the seat. It allowed me to "STAY IN AND FLY PAINT" in vertical maneuvers all night. Once the Seat went silent, so did my position skill. WOW... Didn't expect that. All night long, I was debriefing lead saying, "man, I'm having no trouble staying right in all the vertical maneuvers tonight, feels real good!" The very last flight of the night, when the seat software crashed (in conjunction with an AO server reset, an overheated CPU etc) I flew our routine without it and the sim felt like I was watching a video instead of being in it. I honestly thought this seat would be an interesting novelty but, if you're a formation pilot, you MUST GET A HOLD OF ONE OF THESE. Thank you to the developers for creating a tool like this. It might not feel like pulling true G's but it IS the missing link.
