  1. Not trying to be rude here, but RAZBAM wouldn't screw around with a Harrier module if they intended to ignore such a crucial aspect of the Harrier legacy. The Harrier is infamous for being dangerous in VTOL situations, and I have no doubt that RAZBAM will model this. I'm sure that it may not be 100% accurate at first, but rest assured that in a few months Nevada and Georgia will be covered with flaming Harrier wrecks.
  2. Definitely going to be September. I wouldn't expect it any earlier than the last week of September.
  3. They don't have variable geometry intakes in a traditional sense, but you're not completely wrong. The intakes don't alter shape with speed during forward flight configuration, but there are extra air intakes that only open during VTOL situations to pull more air into the engines, making up for the lack of forward speed to force air through.
  4. No, your rotation speed will most definitely vary based on takeoff weight. Ideally there would be a conversion chart published, but I haven't been able to find one. My recommendations? Rotate at 120 if you have A2A armament and a single drop tank. If you have a drop tank and a full load of bombs, around 130-135 would be better. If you have two drop tanks and A2A armament? I've struggled to get off the ground rotating at 145-150. Do a test run, even at sea level on Caucasus. Try taking off with two full drop tanks and let me know what happens when you rotate at 120 xD you'll quickly find yourself dropping back towards the ground a few hundred meters after takeoff, even with full burner.
  5. I'm curious as to what kind of navigation capabilities the Night Attack harrier will have in DCS. I know it will be a new, unique system from anything we've had before, but will it be an INS only, similar to the Mirage? Or will it be INS+GPS, closer to the A-10C? I noticed that in the confirmed weapons list JDAMs did not appear to be present. Should I assume this means INS only?
  6. A PIP may be helpful, but I'm not sure how you'd go about accomplishing this. TBH you don't need it. If you keep practicing you'll get it down quickly. Set aside a bit of time every day for a week to do landing practicing. Go up to 500 ft radar altitude, pick a spot in the distance (give yourself plenty of room for an approach while you're learning), and make a landing. Do this 10-20 times a day. It took me around 100 landings in the huey before it clicked.
  7. This has been my mindset as well. Lately though I am starting to feel it is overly-optimistic. When is the last time that RAZBAM quoted a release timeframe? I haven't heard that Q3 date mentioned in quite some time, so I fear they might not be on track for that Q3 release.
  8. The Mirage is 95% complete. I play the Mirage more than any other model and I am still 100% fine with waiting until after the Harrier is in Early Access for a significant Mirage update.
  9. Ah, well that makes sense. Thanks!
  10. Does anybody know where I can find data on the V speeds for the Mirage 2000c? I'm hoping to learn to become more fuel efficient, and to have more realistic takeoff/landing profiles (I'm aware that landings should be done by targeting a 14 degree AoA). I'm looking to learn what speed will result in the greatest range, and what speeds result in the greatest loiter time. In a perfect world I'd love to have tables I can print out that show these values at various speeds/altitudes. Does anyone know where information like this might be found?
  11. I'm designing a ground attack/strike mission for the Mirage that involves a low altitude ingress, pop up, and attacking two bridges. My question is, what is the best weapon with which to destroy the bridges in the Mirage? I'm thinking that the Mk82s will be hard to be accurate enough with, unless I drop a barrage of 6 of them all at once. I'm thinking rockets will not be powerful enough to destroy a bridge in DCS? And I'm worried that the Belougas will not affect a bridge much, either. Thoughts?
  12. I'm hoping to become an expert on the RDI, but I'm finding very few good resources on it. Even the DCS manual for the M-2000C does not provide a lot of information on the functions of the RDI that are enabled by the switches next to the display. I find that myself and my wingmen in multiplayer have troubles communicating where targets are. Once the furball starts our situation awareness goes away, and we don't know where each other are, or where the enemy is, unless we have visual or they show up on our screen. I was told that you can have bullseye or INS waypoints (up to 5 waypoints) displayed on your RDI. Is this correct? I'm thinking that if we can each view waypoint info or bullsye info on our RDI, we should be able to communicate our own location or our target location to our wingmen over the radio. Does anyone know of any guides that explain the capabilities of our RDI/radar?
