    Mig-19 hype?

Well, you could stabilize the radar (to the plane's X axis), maybe even gyro stabilize it, not sure about that. But it was even seriously considered to be used as an actual air-to-ground ordnance (the RS-2us), but it ended up being just a training procedure to get the pilots familiar with the weapon. I think this was originally intended as a meassure for jamming environment (to be able to use the radar without proper lock), maybe our clever guys from the dev team might know a bit more about this.

    Mig-19 hype?

Nope, not theoretically. They were practically used so. Well, at least in training. ;)
  3. They should have went with F4U-4...
  4. Just gonna point out that the plane in the OP is not Su-7 ;)
  5. Just... Hunter F.6 (= F.56) That would be nice as a counterpart...
  6. not confusing at all P - central gun removed to make space for the electronics PM - all guns removed to save weight, missiles become the weaponry you had either missiles, or guns then came the upgrade of P variant PT - P + R-3S missiles, which is what we are getting (but it is mostly called just P)
  7. Leather hat only Here with plastic hat on top Pilot is using the leather hat here in 19P And here what seems to be the white one, in a Kuban plane .... and here one MiG-19PM, just because its beautiful
  8. Well, sign me up for this too. Would love Crimea back. A WW2 version would be welcome too
  9. Guys, let's think about this for a while - - we are going to get Strait of Hormuz map, with possible extension to include Kuwait and Iraq, iirc, unless that is officially in the schedule - we have MiG-21bis - we have Mi-8MTV-2 (Mi-17) - we have Gazelle - we have F-5E - F-4E is in works - F-14's are in works Quite a lot for possible Iran. What does Iraq have? The MiG and Mi-8 and Gazelle (in case of Mi-8 and Gazelle, I am not sure how much the versions fit). That is why I think MiG-25PD would be a logical step, to give Red some love. The most terrifying craft of the era with its speed, armament and radar that can simply burn though any kind of jamming you could think of throwing at it. (Since, as you know, MiG-23MLA was not allowed... sadly... would love that craft.)
  10. Nice to see you bravo :megalol: glad you doing well ...let's have some skins for this toy :pilotfly:
  11. As someone who makes planes (mods) for IL-2, I can say this: Making a bunch of versions, when you have a base model, is rather easy and is not really an issue here. What is an issue is the fact that whenever you find a problem in one model, you have then to go and fix it on every single version you made. Things like compatibility issues for example. Yes, fixing it is then just CTRL+C/CTRL+V when you find the solution, but it can get really annoying and confusing, especially when the codes have many differences. And yes, even simple codes as in IL-2 can get confusing; now imagine a code of thousands of lines across let's say 5 versions of a plane - you have to go and find corresponding pieces of code in all the five versions among the thousands of lines of code. Immense workload and room for error is giantic. Yes, this might sound very simplistic, but at the core, all flight games are rather similar, just have different complexity to it. :book: EDIT: Oh, and 3D models. The biggest pain in the a$$ when making separate versions :D
  12. But the D and E are the ones that make most sense in DCS environment, being the ones used widely.
  13. Not to mention Avengers served in Korea, iirc
  14. I was reacting to the slashing attacks, shooting down a fighter plane in a 262 will be a show of skill. As for the air speed, sure, you can go faster, but the G's won't increase, 3G's is basically the maximum you should ever be able to pull off. Well, you could in theory pull harder but...you would lose a ton of speed. 570 would be the tightest I was able to do. In theory, you could fight a Mustang but... you would need someone to keep your 6 clear. EDIT: Either way, let's wait how it turns out.

    RAZBAM MiG-19

Actually, it could use its missiles in AG mode, a fun fact that little know. Not that it would be any accurate, but it worked. System wise, it shouldn't be that different from P either. But hey, it's a lot of work either way, I understand that ^^ keep up the good work, you guys are doing a really good job bringing this bird to life.
  16. Not really, it could be fixed by changing the shape of the blades, but little did German experts know. Comming from research from late 1940's in Czechoslovakia - a bunch of engineers that has never seen a jet in their life fixed it in about a year. As for turn rate - what matters is its terrible sustained turn. Not to mention that the speed was not really that high, acceleration - and now I am not accounting for the engine handling - was also low. Slashing in and out won't really work - as you have to turn around at some point. And if I take the old IL-2 sim as a sort of a semi-reference, you get to around 2.5 G at 570 km/h for a sustained turn at sea level. Yes - that is both low airspeed and wide turning radius (someone can actually calculate how wide that would be). If it is going to be anything like that, you are in for one hell of a ride :helpsmilie:

    RAZBAM MiG-19

Skins... Pretty please? Here a photo of preserved PM, for color reference ;) EDIT: Speaking of PM... I know you guys are conscidering the 19S.. but what about PM? Much easier to convert :D EDIT2: ...just gotta love the fixed-beam mode for 19PM... first AGM capable plane? :D
  18. That's sad... refueling hercules would be dope.
  19. wait a sec... do we have that tanker? Cannot remember, haven't really been through the builder a lot yet..
  20. Guys, slow down :D ..or you gonna get me a heart attack one of these days.
  21. Fair enough.
  22. Speaking of which, Flanker was able to engage two targets at the same time. I suppose it was done through buddy lock. Which would also mean that an Eagle pilot would get a spike from the left, but get a missile from the right.
  23. Doesn't Viggen have one externally made? But yes, there is no "official" ED radar.
  24. Why not give flankers at least the P and EP, which entered service around the same time as ET and ER? And if you want R-77... Sure, put it on Su-27SM. Along with some Kh-37P and A, A-G capable radar, terrain mapping included,... IIRC it had also TV guided bombs and missiles,... sure why not...
  25. western front That is quite why I would rather than Yak-3 see the Yak-9U ;) it can act as soviet Korean-war prop. (Hell, there was even a finished 3D for it...) ...too bad P-63 never officially fought the Germans, meaning that if anything, there was a few combat-testing pieces on the frontlines - rest being held in reserve for far-eastern front. (It did well there.) It really is an interesting aircraft.
