Odd...I only fly in VR and I saw improvements right off the bat in the Tomcat and my specs are pretty low (2600k stock). She looks brighter and sharper and I noticed a slight fps gain visually. I also fired up the Gazelle in Vegas seems smoother than before and the Huey feels better too, cockpit seems more proportional for some reason than before. I could almost swear that there are sound improvements too but I can't put my finger on it. Overall patch is one of the best I've seen even without the official VR improvement. Thanks Matt and Team!

Hollywood, I don't get the same commands as pictured on page 37 and I don't have AIRIO file to import either. Not sure what is going on. Rio still doesn't work for me. Not sure what else to do.

"You must run Windows 10 and if on Win7 make sure to have .NET 4.5.2 properly installed" Hollywood, does it have to be .NET 4.5.2? My system keeps doing updates to latest version. I hate to run versions with vulnerabilities.

Corneilus, thanks for the reply. I just mean that I use the TX5 button to talk to Jester like I would with the wheel enabled. Anyhow, he doesn't respond to any commands, I've tried them all. Even cussed at it, LOL. I alt-tab to AIRO and noticed the "command unrecognized" error. I don't think it works anywhere for me. I was using instant action cold start on Nevada mostly. I'm pretty sure i'm doing something wrong but I just can't figure out what it is.

Thanks Hornblow but what does that have anything to do with "command unrecognized" in VIACOM AIRIO? The had the ground power turned on already and air connected. It's part of the start up. AIRIO is just not working for me and I've already comb through the manual before posting here. I don't know what else I am missing....I don't mind using the wheel but would prefer to just use comms.

I can't get AIRIO to work. TX5 button works fine if AIRIO is disabled. When I enabled it, TX5 pushed command is unrecognized. No response from Jester of course. Just trying to get Jester to respond to "startup." Am I missing something? thanks.

Hollywood, My viacom is now fubar after it crashed several times. I installed the latest version, copied the latest chatter, and imported the DCS Profile. But now every time I start VA, it doesn't initialize the profile like it used to do and I don't hear any chatter either. Also, nothing works when I pressed the MIC switch. Please do the needful. I also sent you a PM with some errors from the fault text file. thanks, G6

Ugh, I can't afford to do a clean windows install...I hope DCS is not expecting users to do that in order to get this working. Thanks for info though Jas.

Hi all, So I just updated DCS and went to fire up the Huey free flight in Nevada but it gave me an "error initializing terrain..." Ok, so let me check Caucus so I went to my Argo campaign, click on fly and I received an "mission requires activation" wth? What activation? I bought campaign while back been playing, LOL. Now, lets try AV8B instant action...loading screen windows pop says game crashed....click to close. This is the first time I've ever had an issues updating DCS. Update said it was successful. Any one else having similar issues to mine? thanks

Nice Stang! I wish someone would just make a plastic mold (shell) and we can purchase. Some of us are not as talented as you guys. :D

I'm sure most of you guys don't need much help but for us newbies to the AV8B, this video I found on YouTube has some cockpit views from real pilots that you can actually see the nozzle rotation during takeoff/landing. Some good shipboard landing approaches as well. Sorry if this has already been posted. If the video doesn't show up search the title Warship Series 1 NSW Harriers. ${1}

I watched the videos on Youtube of real pilot landing on a ship and his HUD shows 82 degrees. However; I'm not sure if the nozzle is actually pointing straight down, it is what he uses to land.

nice landings! but how do you keep the plane from rolling backwards? i've been able to land once or twice only to plunge into the sea by rolling backwards...applying the brakes didn't seem to help me.

Weird...I just tried that and it didn't work. The only time I see the AV8B is in "Instant Mission." She doesn't show up on the left side under Module for anything else...no mission, etc... thanks for the help.

Hi all, I've downloaded this file (107th_TTI_Harrier_Training_Ops.miz) from the user files section but where do I put it for the mission to show up? I've tried putting in quick start no joy and saved game doesn't work either. Thanks

Hansangb, Thanks for the tip. My CPU is weak, it's only a 2600K. However, DCS 2.0 was working just fine right before the last update. I do have SSD and 32GB of RAM. I will check the MSAA and shader threads for help. Thanks again, G6

Witwas, I also have triple screens setup and I run at 3380 x 1920 so roughly about 40" size screen. I was actually thinking of getting 4k 55" curve screen. But ever since I got the Rift, I'm glad that I didn't go the 4k route. In my opinion, no matter how big your screen or how good your resolution could be the immersion factor is not the same as CV1. Yes, CV1 resolution could be better but the wow factor makes up for the lack of high res. Sometimes, I just sit in the Huey cockpit and stare at the giant blade whipping above my head. You will not get this feeling with triple screen or 4k giant screen. Not to mention the tracking is way better than TrackIR. I noticed it's also easier to perform formation flight using Rift than monitors. Hope that helps, G6

Thank you all for the response. I don't have a fps counter but before the latest update I can run 2.0 (vegas) fairly smoothly, not 90 fps but somewhere around 25-30 fps. Now by eyeballing I think I'm getting around 5 fps and that's what I mean when I say unplayable. Literally, I can almost count the frames. On the 1.5 I can fly without any issues as usual and no sickness which is pretty smooth as usual. I understand the Vegas is demanding but it wasn't always like this until the most recent update that changed on me. I even lowered most of the settings from which I had before that were higher and no issues then. My card is a Zotac FE 1080 Ti. I bought since it came out and never had and issues with any games really. I know it's not best card on the market but still I didn't have any problems before. All my Nvidia drivers are up to date. I was thinking if I go with just one monitor, would it help with DCS 2.0 in the Rift? Otherwise, I'm just going to keep my triple setup. thanks
