DCS: Black Shark User Screenshots Dedicated Thread
Stalintc replied to Teknetinium's topic in Screenshots and Videos
Yep... and im teaching myself to use shkval to find and track targets... it helps to practice if you know where they are to try and lock them. So because im using an *aid* while I am learning I am using a cheat like someone uses an aimbot in an FPS? no I dont think so... I am in the *learning* phase, This is a tricky simulation to learn and this aid is helping me in the stage im at. I have been playing flight sims since I was 10 and have a full grasp on things.. I have my own way of learning and this is the way I picked up F4 and fly without labels. Others have their own ways of learning too. I posted some screenshots in this thread to contribute to it, not to take flak from people because of some poxy labels. And for the record I cant ride a bike due to a slight balance problem I have, so that question is about how I learnt to ride a bike means nothing to me. :) -

Here are some shots from my escapades so far :D Below im saying hi to the troops in this checkpoint in front LOL although to be fair most are actually dead... :P Some more general shots of the ensued destruction... However all good things come to an end, and the below are just some shots from my approach and landing :) Looks like my wingman took a nibbling on his tail there! Oh and I realise that I have not gone back to a nav mode... but to be honest I couldnt remember how at that point and thought "oh sod it" and read my speed with the dials LOL Enjoy! Cheers -
Hover practice.... Some more hover practice.... Slow speed flying at low level practice... one step at a time... Again but outside view :) Just a few shots to share!!! Cheers

It will work in the same way that you mod any other game I would imagine... Dangerous Waters for example uses the exact same LWami mod as the one for the standard retail version, since it is exactly the same file structure once you get to the folder. The method for installing this mod was the same too... apart from pointing the installer to a different directory. Likewise the JSGME mod enabler still works in the same way in a STEAM environment. It is very similar to a person perhaps wanting to install their copy of a game to differently named directory, the mod utilities and other gubbins is still going to work just the same. I cant see there being a problem to be quite honest. Apart from patching games, multiplayer server searching and starting up the game STEAM has nothing to do with your mods. There is nothing to stop you backing up your folders either when you install a mod. personally I back up my entire STEAM folder every so often, so that if my machine goes down all I have to do is drag and drop my STEAM folder back and im laughing! But the point im getting at is that it will still be the same folder structure as any other DCS Black-Shark install apart from being in a STEAM folder, the exe's etc etc will be the same. I hope this is somewhat helpful :) Cheers Stalintc

My personal opinion for a solution(s) which benefits both parties: - DVD check once a week for hard copy owners. - Activation for download customers. With unlimited de-activations (It works quite well for Combat Mission Shock Force, which you can unlicence your copy and move it to a new machine if you so wish.. negating the hardware change issue, battlefront also have full access to the e-licence system and see where there are geniune requests for more activations and then action the customers request quickly.) - CD key required to register on the forums to access the support section. - The option to buy and download the game from Steam. Yes these have been mentioned before in the thread, but since most people have an opinion in the thread I thought it suitable to share mine :) Piracy is a virtually impossible thing to stop, but I believe a careful balance has to be struck between the honest paying customer and those who abuse the system, in order to avoid making the paying customer highly restricted in a product that they paid for, while those who cheat the company have free reign over a product they never paid for. I am not going to sit here and get upset about it, because whatever will be will be and there has not been any fully official announcement or breakdown on how it will be. Of course if this thread is productive and some good can come from this sometimes heated debate there is little harm done. ED\DCS has my full support. Thanks for reading  Cheers

Sorry, im not mocking :) merely injecting some humour or trying to at least! I have got all the kit that you mention, I wouldnt fly a sim without it now... I look back on the days of using my mouse for the view and a single joystick with the thoughts of "how the F did I manage?!?!"

Its worth it... you get a free KA-50 delivered to your doorstep with every purchase!! Comes free with a vikhr starter pack and 200 rounds of AP ammo!

Ask in the Russian forum, because they have the Sim. We cannot play online because we cant get a copy, so there is little point asking here :)
-
Rikus, It says in the original post that both the download and DVD versions will require activation. Cheers

Its good to hear that a demo will be available, that allows plenty of time to learn how to not crash the helicopter and just get the basic feel of flying it! Now that is priceless, it means when the full version comes out, there will be less need to sit down and learn everything when your full of excitment and want to get stuck into the campaign and beat up some moving mud targets!! Of course with the depth of Black Shark im sure there will be plenty more to learn, but at least we will be better prepared to "learn on the fly" so to speak :)

Ah yeah I think it was just closed recently, because we are not allowed to discuss the Russian version of DCS on this English forum, such questions must be posed on the Russian forum. -
