what a great comedy that was!! :megalol: I wonder if in RL both the pilot and the co-pilot had their separate responsibilities. For example the different check list for pre-flight, landing etc., if the pilot does "A" and then the co-pilot would be as expected to do "B". If the team could design an co-pilot AI to do the expected response to what you the pilot just did, then B-17 SP could be possible and a lot of great fun. The AI would have to be patient and not just run down his own check list, but having to wait for the pilot to trigger his next move :)...AI calling out his action's would be awesome

Probably the most important thing to get a flooded appearance. -

Northern Ontario, Canada has that same look from the air, ponds, puddles everywhere...Maybe that is the same case near Moscow -
but of course, flyable! :pilotfly:

You might see a huge amount of crop tops, and object's here and there, wagons, wooden barrels. Water color different from the sea is on the right track. -
I think llya is really gun ho to get this aircraft in the game. If this game is a huge success, then I think we will see her fairly quickly. Couple of years or less after 9/14

Thanks llya looks good!...think of the flooding as just big puddles some deeper than others. Couple of inches, couple of feet...just enough to mud things up and slow things down -
Ponzi scam?.....:P

Roy beat me to it :megalol:

Hey, nothing like a little fire :P...and yea it was set at CAP, and here, I just did another quickie for you. He should have been mine but I'm a little rusty in the mornings, and I needed him to stay alive to prove it is CAP. Same MO though and he remains an easy target HurtHimAverage2.trk

@ westr...I've been looking at the behavior of average AI as I try to learn the game better. Frankly I'm not seeing a problem with pilot average being super human, or doing death defying escape maneuvers. The good news is like AI, our ammunition is just as crippling to AI at a considerable distance...for SP I recommend to give AI the order to land as the last waypoint. If you damaged him well, he may not survive the landing attempt. If points are important to you, then this is another way to get them. :)...if you are seeing a different average AI, then post the track for me so I can see it...heavily damaged here, he just wants to get away from me HurtHimAverage.trk

I think it's good that they fire early, lets me know early too then. I only have 1 1/2 hours with the game, so I'm not really qualified to judge them yet.
-
So I tried them a few times. I had no victories, I had a couple of prolonged fights mostly evasive in nature. My plane was crippled a couple of times, and other times just shot up a bit. With AI right on my heels at the beginning, it difficult to elude pilot Death:P. My first flight was my best against the average pilot, quickly getting behind him when he couldn't slow down.
-
Thanks' for the free missions!:P...only flew against the average fellow because the sun light behind me is messing with trackir. Will try them again later. What I did, when I noticed tracers going by my front screen, I dropped the gear and chopped the throttle. Now I was behind him at close quarters, I had to keep resetting trackir so I ended the mission. Will try again latter on, against the ace. :joystick:

My feeling is, if I allow AI to get in a favorable position on me, why then I should expect the worst. Just like if it were reversed and then it is me who has a chance to be the crack shot. We are talking an awful amount of AI bullets, they would naturally find vital areas.
-
Most of my tactics after failing the surprise, are to put my self in a favorable position of behind. My fight is for that position using anything and everything to get there. A high failure rate usually, and gets protracted and drawn out.

Short burst are key but only if they hit :P having the patience to hold your fire till the right time. Also knowing that the right time presents it self in an instant, and many times is lost just as quickly. Most people would be surprised at how many shots they fired verses how many made contact. German study during the war found that the average was 06% hits of fired rounds. The closer that you can get before firing, will greatly increase your hit average. If you look at the ace's of WW2, the very best of them preferred sneaking up undetected to 70 yards or so, then firing short burst.
