  1. He has raved about the P-51, so he enjoys DCS. The IL-2 series just has a lot of meat to it, that might be what he was saying...and I agree with him Oleg and llya really know the how to on combat sims, pity many don't realize the depth and scope. I think mainly due to personal hardware limitation :)...in CLod on my mission template map, I have every airfield populated and too many triggers to count. Since there are too many to remember, there is always a surprise when I pass through one or two of them. Some friendly, some not so much
  2. MP disturbed the nest yesterday :P
  3. pretty crazy thread...and Friday update is near :P
  4. Cool idea!..maybe two for me because of the detail on the other side For example, the reverse of the D-Day map contains text and images of the fabulous "model maps" prepared by U.S. and British intelligence to familiarize the soldiers, sailors, and airmen with the topography they would be confronting
  5. Great thanks...the map looks very good of what I have seen so far. :)
  6. Hi Almazi, how's the flooding coming along, have you gotten the look that you were seeking. :)
  7. Congratulation's on the promotion!...and I do hope there is brand new secretary in the deal ;)
  8. not really without the parachute :D
  9. Try no throttle no prime on restarting engine
  10. I was crunching some numbers on the rewards thing. If llya spends just 3 minutes on each donor, that would be over 125man hours(2 weeks:P), and lots of pizza :helpsmilie:
  11. Na...he's detailing his new ride :P
  12. but Bongo a dipped pilot head equals a camera looking down at a angle...without seeing more in game shots of the Dora, we are left with a unknown. There are a few people who have access to sitting in one. I'm sure that yo yo will have good input for the sight...my guess would be that the lower wind screen framing was not an issue in RL, and maybe not visible when using the sight.
  13. I would have to guess that the camera's eye is approximately 152mm or 6 inches above the pilots line of sight...lets not attempt to re-write history again :)
  14. the pilot would need to slouch in his seat...not possible
  15. You surprise me Bongo, you always have posted common sense in the past...how many inches would you guess the camera is above the pilots line of sight?
  16. that would be the view of a very tall pilot, even if the camera is mounted on his far head (unlikely), its still high. I'm sure the Germans had a height limitation on pilots, may not be easy to find :)
  17. but at no time can he lower the camera's eye...he would need to slouch in his seat to bring the camera to true eye level, and that s not possible.
  18. a inconvenient truth :P...just shows how good those pilots were back then, adapt. Wonder how many inches the camera was mounted above eye level.
  19. "The plane, dubbed the "Galveston Gal," was manufactured in 1944 and converted to a two-seat, dual control TF-51" Always sad to read when one of these tragic events, VIP http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/10/23/2-killed-after-museum-wwii-era-plane-crashes-in-texas/?intcmp=latestnews
  20. I bought the keys here when it went on sale a few weeks ago for 15.- a very cool plane IMHO
  21. The second video in this thread is amazing to watch
  22. Would certainly be better that he not make a schedule promise in the first place. When it comes and goes unfulfilled, the community excitement looses some steam. The start of the T-shirt design thread contest, and closing of the logo contest, are now 5 days late. Another reason to not make a schedule, because if something could go wrong, it will. :D
