I like what you presented and I think that you should leave it up. I think you should also post other ideas that you have, don't limit yourself to one. "game logo/icon or a company logo?" sorry missed that, a company logo but with the first title and maybe a small icon.
-
I think that if you scroll up this page and look at the DCS logo, that's what llya is looking for. It's a great looking logo, and it contains nothing else but letters and small icon.
-
@mazex, I think he wants :) "I think the most visually strong logo here would simply be DCS WWII written in a unique, recognizable font, arranged into a unique, recognizable shape. I.e., the logo is not a thing with DCS WWII written on it, the logo is "DCS WWII". However, I'm ready to be proven wrong"

eekz ...I like the smaller text

More reading for you :D http://www.dday-overlord.com/eng/bocage_war.htm The hedges in 1944 The very nature of hedges in 1944 is not the same as today. At the time of the Normandy landings, the hedges are an average of five meters high, a size smaller than today. Particularly well maintained, they have a dominant economic role in the region, which has largely disappeared today.
-
The Brits had documented a test flood that the German's did in 43, the landing was planned accordingly. I think it was 43. Anyway the hedgerows were the bigger problem. After much frustration, someone came up with the idea to fit commercial pipe, 2 of them to the tanks. The driver would drive the horns of the tank into the earth of the hedge, demolition men setting charges in the two holes, then blew an opening. The hedge roots being so dense that this was the only way that worked. That is without exposing the tanks soft under belly to enemy fire, while trying to climb over the tangle thick vegetation...the troops had a name for the tank, can't think of what it was, Rino something

mission editor How to: Open mission editor/click edit tab top left of your screen/choose add airplane/choose which aircraft from the dropdown over on the right side of your screen/left click on any runway to place your aircraft/left click any additional waypoints that you want/left click on another runway/edit the waypoints on the right side of you screen, making the first waypoint that you placed (that one is numbered #0) the plane as "takeoff" from the drop down menu/make your last waypoint "landing"/in the skill box over on the right side, choose "player" from the dropdown/on the file tab choose "save" it will ask for a name such as test.miz so type that in. On the left of your screen you will see a fly button. I hope this helps some people, really the basic mission building is very simple...:pilotfly:

I just had a look at the mission builder, and I find it very easy to use. Just created a basic simple mission, for me to get a feel of it. I think anyone who gives it a few minutes, will get the hang of it rather quickly.

That information is probably found in one of the other P-51 available manuals. Some are cheap while others (Originals) are very expensive...do a google http://www.ebay.com/itm/1944-ARMY-AIR-FORCE-P-51-MUSTANG-FIGHTER-PILOT-TRAINING-FLIGHT-MANUAL-HANDBOOK-/221282557920?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item338577dfe0 and another http://www.amazon.com/P-51-Mustang-Pilots-Flight-Manual/dp/1411690400

Three American, Three German, One British aircraft...
SlipBall replied to Avimimus's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Yes, and it go's deeper, the P-51 was a British inspiration to begin with. Probably never would have been built without that inspiration and signed contract -
Three American, Three German, One British aircraft...
SlipBall replied to Avimimus's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
As I said earlier the P-51 would never had come to be, without the Brits going to NA corporation with their desired specification's...so the P-51 is sort of a Brit aircraft. :D -
For those that have pledged $40 or above...
SlipBall replied to ATAG_Bliss's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Maybe someone could ask llya to include a link to the ATAG offer, in his next mass e-mail to the backers...I'm sure many are un-aware -

Three American, Three German, One British aircraft...
SlipBall replied to Avimimus's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
The P-51 may have never been designed if not for the British specification request to North American. NAA originally designed the Mustang in response to a British request. They agreed to produce the first prototype only 4 months after signing the contract in April 1940. The Brits wanted 8 guns, what would that have been like. :smilewink: -
