  1. @4:33 I find it very interesting how the pilot adds takeoff power gradually and a bit slowly... a departure from things/recommendations I have read

  6. I always though that a thread of wrecks that were caught on video would be fun and entertaining to have here. So this is what happens when you forget to adjust your trim for takeoff...post your grass field adventures here :D

No I think you need to be consistent as though your life depended on it, the pilot and weather are the only variable...and a big no on the map is ok, this map is not even close with all those nuclear power plants lol, and yes we do need a WW II map, how else would we have a grass field/base to land/takeoff? :)...you could not save the aircraft on concrete as I did here with the busted gear on the grass
  8. This aircraft does best on a round grass field as seen during the war. Going down a strait line on a concrete runway can be challenging and dangerous and not much fun IMO but having plenty of wiggle room as seen here on the grass, may save a life and the aircraft...we need a WW II map !! :)
  9. I just give her some opposite to each other aileron/rudder, it sheds altitude without causing lots of speed gain

I'm sure there are other factors as well that can not be reproduced in a video game to compare to the original aircraft's climb rate...example: panel fit's , rivet exposure drag etc....it also seems to me that the true rudder performance can not be achieved in a video game as well...keep at it though! :)

  19. I think that any need to have a 4k monitor should not be the case, but the need to have rudder peddles is understandable.
  20. I think that ED needs to hire more people and get these maps out ASAP...delay is killing what ever excitement there was, and for me that was a lot at the beginning of this concept project :(

I tried to bring the rudder's inefficiency on the ground to some level of awareness for people here...it certainly needs to be looked at because it is lacking authority, for taxing and the right hand direction of turn. I also think she rolls to easily and has problems with the grass, maybe grabbing the lawn on touch down in unsafe way :)

  23. Yeah I think that it is okay...but field landings should be as they are in real life, and I think DCS does a good job of that. Remember that in real life most field landings are done for emergency reasons, and so my goal is too just survive the landing, so as to not take a death in game play. I have landed with no damage at all, turned around and taken off again...but... I also have had some terrible results, but after all, that is the same as that found in day to day RL emergency field landings :).....I'm just practicing how to stay alive for the eventual Normandy campaign release :P....I think a dedicated video blooper thread of K4 field landings, would be cool to have here
  24. I think that is true for the concrete but when I'm landing in fields, un-locked seems to work best for me
  25. Yeah I think they need to get the map and some bombers in the game ASAP..like yesterday!!:music_whistling:
