just fly like you have to return the keys to your base commander :D

I think it has always been clear to most of us that it has been pilot error...no fear of destroying the aircraft or even possible death, just select fly again :P

Flight dynamics description on product page

I would assume it means: ability to dampen vibration -
thanks Charlie!

are you sure? looks like a slip fit with a quarter turn locking -
[FIXED] flaregun toggle function
SlipBall replied to 9.JG27 DavidRed's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
it was worn below the knee for a reason, I say put it back there :D -
Yes thanks Woelfel, I will try this out
-
nice short video David, and a very smooth field landing
-
I think that it is more fun and I am able to put myself mentally in more of a WW II atmosphere that way
-
I guess that when I start the engine I have it off and just wind up leaving it off till I'm up and on my way...probably just a little lazy is why I do it :P
-
Nice tip, and guilty of failing to at times
-
yeah, I know that I had a lot of failures when I first tried landings. After awhile failures diminished, but I still have them if not completely concentrating
-
I land just a little bit differently but I'm mainly using grass fields in prep for the WW II map. :P 1. At .5km alt and 300 speed I turn off the pitch automation, and bring it to setting 12: over a period of some time 2. I begin lowering the flaps to full 3. I drop down from .5km to about .1 km or.2km to get a good look at the landing site 4. I follow an imaginary right hand traffic pattern, while rising back up to .2km or so 5. I lower the gear near the end of the downwind leg, and at the turn I note that my speed is near 250, my alt now .1km 6. I look out my right window to pick a spot to hit while doing the turn 7. My head still looking out the right window, relying on feel and sounds to judge my speed 8. I make the finale turn and take note of my alt and speed, and line up my roll out track, doing speed about 170-200km and very low alt 9. I now pay close attention to the speed while trying to loose the little alt that I have 10. I'm trying now to just keep the wings level as I'm slowing, I watch my speed and alt gauges, and flair her up as I'm now low enough, and the speed is almost to stall speed...after she settles I keep the stick back, wings level, I may or may not use the brakes, because that all depends.
-
Not really a lot to it for me, I set it at 12: for both the take-off and the landing. I turn the automation back on soon after the take-off when comfortable with the alt and speed. I leave it off after the landing though

maneuvering and landing without wingtips :-)
SlipBall replied to Anatoli-Kagari9's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Yes it is done very well I think...your story reminded me of that P-47 pilot who only had his trim wheel left to use, to get back to base and land with it and the engine power -
I like to turn off the automated governor for take-offs and landings, but I think that may be covered in manual pretty well. I've been meaning to read it in its entirety, one of these days :D
-
Thanks!...and I enjoyed your file too :D
-
yes that is showing the engine manifold pressure, when supercharger is in use the pressure rises a bit more
-
that makes sense to me, thanks!

This field seems good...in the quick action menu for the approach mission. It is a darker color grass field, not a farm field. It is about 3km from the truck or whatever it is parked at the airfield. It is to the left of the runway as you approach this grass field heading towards the air field. There is a power plant with 3 stacks that you will come to rest at, on your port side, maybe 400m or so from you, and there are 2 bridges that you will see up ahead of you not far away, towards, and still left of the airfield. Give this field a try guys

You cannot compare the 109 here to the CLOD 109...The COD game is 'balanced' for on-line competition(109 not being very true to real life). So your word "arcade" would really in fairness, apply to the CLOD FM's... I think here in DCS the 109 needs to be given some rudder authority for the on the ground use of. Also the suspension seems overly stiff, and should be toned down in IMHO.
-
Ok thank you...I thought that all that was needed was to replace the individual .wav files with your own, while retaining the original size and file name

Go here and become a member, search the threads, or start a new one asking for advice(nice, dedicated people there)be polite and respectful of their work. Its a different game but the procedure will be the same for you. You will only need to locate the DCS file location for the 109, and that's easy. http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5039 good luck!

yeah I have a lot of that too. That's what I was saying about the wind being a big factor for success. Clearly they will have to keep fine tuning this aircraft, because its a bit too tippy and bouncy for the lawn. :P...strong wind lessens your roll time, less time rolling, less risk to the plane.

I've been taking off/landing on the grass and in farmers fields, for awhile now. I know that the important thing to this is to take off/land into a good paced wind(mission editor). I don't normally apply any brakes until I've slowed down a bit, and I don't lock the tail wheel all the time. I just try to keep the wings level when I'm riding it out, waiting to slow down.
