  1. Does this bug affect any of the other planes or only on the MiG-29? So far I've focused on the Warthog (where flaps "seems" to add drag - it sure add lift - but I'm not an expert) and pondering what plane to train on next... /KC
  2. As others said, poor performance flying low over cities is still there. It's not a major problem for high flying jetjocks but for mudmovers who prefer to skim the roof tops it can be! I'm not an game developer but this issue has been there since LOMAC 1.0 and I think it's caused by the LOD system used in this series (anyone knows how many LOD levels building objects has). You can easily see it's the objects count that affect the performance negatively by pressing "LCTRL-Scroll Lock" twice. On my machine things are pretty OK (~25-40 FPS) if "obj" stays below ~10 000 but FPS take a dump if it rasies above that. It's also related to your FOV so zooming in will help since less objects is drawn on screen. /KC
  3. Awesome news! I'm also one of those who tweaked my FOV and I'm actually limiting both zoom and wide view in cockpit. I get less disoriented by not having such a high zoom in the A-10 and I can see a few more instruments while zoomed in. Below is my prefered values.... Thanks for a great server and I will enjoy it even more if I'm allowed to use my prefered FOV settings! /KC
  4. I've also noticed this at 104th server (mostly flown on that one) but since I hidden away the chatlog completely things seems to improved a bit. I can still see the chatlog by pressing ~ on my keyboard and I prefer this way instead of seeing up to 8 lines of text while flying and concentrating on my task - YMMV. Change the following two lines in ...\FUI\Resources\Multiplayer\chat-log.res Try it out and let us know if it improved things for you as well or if I just imagined things... /KC
  5. But it would be nice to have some kind of filtering slider on each AXIS to combat noise in pots (like in IL-2). Try binding zoom to an rotary potentiometer and you understand what I mean, it jitters in a very annoying way (same thing in DCS:BS). Same happens if you bind the pitch trim but since I flattened the curve on that one it's not a major problem there but it still jitters. /KC
  6. Thats what I'm hoping for, lets hope it is possible! /KC
  7. You must be on correct mode for padlock to work. A/G mode for padlocking ground and A/A for padlocking missiles etc. Works with or without TrackIR. /KC
  8. Thanks Wags, looking forward to it! /KC
  9. Me and a friend tried LAU-61 Smoke rockets on an A-10 in MP to act as a FAC marking targets but the WP smoke rockets was only smoking for ~10 seconds which make them pretty useless IMO, did we miss something? I was expecting them to smoke for at least 120-180 seconds so there was a chance to use them negotiation targets via coms... /KC
  10. Glad to hear that and thank you Nate for checking, appreciated! Hopefully I will be joining you guys in the virtual skies soon enough... /KC
  11. I don't have FC 2.0 yet but wonder if it is possible to bind your mouse to slew the AGM-65 seeker just like in FC 1.12b? The reason why I ask is that you can't bind the mouse in DCS:BS (since it's used for the clickable cockpit) but since FC 2.0 doesn't have clickable cockpits I hope I can set up my HOTAS mouse stick like in FC 1.12b (mouse emulation gives much smoother control compared to the [,], [.], [/], [;] keys). Anyone knows? /KC
  12. Sorry mate, I don't think I took any screenshots at all yesterday. /KC
  13. I'm mostly thinking group/squad co-op's here and I asume you are talking about PvsP? /KC
  14. Thats what I'm hoping for, lets hope it's possible... Also anything that encourage (and even sometimes forces) teamwork between players gets my vote and this is such thing that takes co-operation to the next level and of course double seated helis/planes would be even better! /KC
  15. Now with FC 2.0 almost here (RUS version is released but waiting for ENG) what new possibilities will we have when it comes to combined arms between rotary and fixed wings? For example will I be able to buddy laze targets in my Ka-50 for human "wingmen" in Su-25T's to attack with laser guided weapons, acting like a FAC in the Ka-50? /KC
  16. Good news and hopefully the end of sound issues/flaws in DCS:BS! /KC
  17. Nice gesture Jason! I already have a TIR myself but putting my name on the list for a old friend that hasn't. I'm trying hard to get him back to LO:FC/DCS:BS and maybe a TIR will swing him over :) /KC
  18. Hi Goldfinger, I haven't had the time to test your stuff yet but I just wanted to say THANK YOU for making and sharing! Good to see some AI tweak/mods etc. instead of just retextures - no offense to all the gfx artists tho ;) I do have one question, is it safe to install your mods and still connect to on-line servers not running them? Couldn't se anything mention in the readme's about that.... Thanks again! /KC
  19. Hope this will be fixed in next patch! /KC
  20. Yes, I meant the in game communication menu in upper right corner. /KC
  21. Another question, anyone knows if there is a way to hide the com menu? After setting up VAC properly it would be nice to be able to hide it. As others already said, VAC is great and well worth the money. I use it for ArmA/ArmA II as well as LO:FC and DCS:BS. /KC
  22. This is great news and had me reconsider my previous stance on DCS:BS - I just ordered it and are downloading it as I type this. Guess I have some reading/practice to do in the Ka-50 before FC 2.0 arrives (will buy that as well and so will a couple of friends who are strictly jetjocks)! I think this will open up a new era of "combined arms" flying on-line and unite LO:FC/DCS pilots all over the globe, great move ED! PS: A dedicated server on top of this would be the icing on the cake so to speak ;) /KC
  23. Then they haven't tried flying NOE in ArmA II (with high details and VD)! Not that you can compare the rest of these two (where DCS:BS wins hand down, no doubt!) but when it comes to the terrain etc. DCS:BS falls quite flat IMO and the not collidable trees and also not breaking the AI's LOS are dealbreakers for me in a heli sim so I'm on standby and fly LO:FC until the future DCS terrain engine gets implemented. +1 Just my 0.20 SEK and YMMW! /KC
  24. Maybe I just missunderstood you then, not here to argue about it... Regarding older nVidia drivers. LO:FC is not the only sim I enjoy, installing older drivers will break other games/sims so for me thats not a solution. Anyway my point is that it would be nice to see this (and some other things) fixed for all of us and hopefully ED will be able to fix it. /KC
  25. So how do you explain that I have the exact same issue with full shadows on my nVidia 7950 GT, which is an old DX9 card (happens with old driver 94.24 and newest 186.18 )? To clarify, this issue is not restricted to DX10/DX10.1 cards nor an ATI only issue, my guess it's something in the code and it would be nice to see that as well as the cloud shadow (flickering vertical grey bands on hills etc.) issue fixed. /KC
