  1. Don't know how to interpret that comment!?? So do you mean FC 2.0 is EOL? FC 2.0 and DCS:BS both have some serious bugs/issues that needs patching. /KC
  2. +1 If possible I would like to see FC 2.0 compatable in MP also after DCS fighters are released since it allows people that don't wan't (or have the time) to spend X days with a manual combined with Y weeks training for one plane/heli to take part in the fun! I know some argue that it's unfair bla bla since the planes in FC 2.0 is easier to fly but in co-op's that doesn't matter IMO (main objective is to have fun together). For those still feeling it's an issue in PvP it could be solved with mission design (i.e only DCS planes/helis available to fly). IMHO, FC 2.0 is a good entry level flight sim and a perfect way to bring in new blood to this seemingly diminishing hobby - tried to get my brothers 4 boys into flightsims for years but all they care about is "trollhunting" in WoW it seems :music_whistling: /KC
  3. Thanks for the tip but I have no idea what "ffdshow" is and I do not use it. For me (and others) this bug/issue is related to the memory management in both FC2 and DCS:BS while running under 32-bit OS (Windows XP Pro here). The CTD happens when simulator.exe RAM-usage gets beyond a specific point (in my case roughly ~1.35 GB). This bug/issue is known by ED and planned to be fixed in upcoming patch. See http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=54162&page=6 for more information by a ED rep. /KC
  4. Thanks for the update, appreciated! Really looking forward to the patches/fixes and to get back in the cockpit again! If it didn't CTD where there any other symptoms? Back in May while testing various stuff I noticed that if I started XP with the /3GB switch the bug/issue changed from CTD'ing to completely freeze the computer without any error messages at all (both DCS:BS and FC2) and a hard reset was nescessary. /KC
  5. Hi topdog, Sounds quite similar to the CTD problems I (and others) experiencing even if I never seen reference to "btmmhook.dll" in my crash-logs, see this thread. Anyway, do you know if your CTD's happens when simulator.exe reaches a specific limit of RAM usage? For me the limit is around ~1.35 GB RAM usage (hard to say exactly since I can't see taskmanager while flying) and then I CTD no matter what. It happens in both MP and SP but RAM usage seems to climb faster in MP (seems dependant on number of players etc). I don't know if your problem is same as the one discussed above but it would be very interesting to know if yours also is related to a specific RAM usage limit of simulator.exe or something else? /KC
  6. Thanks for the reply Panzertard! Unfortunately it's nothing I can do on my end to fix this (except upgrading to Windows 7 64-bit it seems and that is a no-go for me since I would loose my HOTAS). Back in May (IIRC) I was in contact with support-dcs@support.eagle.ru and I was informed that ED is aware of this issue (introduced in 1.0.2) and supposedly working on it. Since main interest is MP this bug/issue killed both DCS:BS and FC2 for me. Yea, I can fly the A-10 or Ka-50 for maybe ~30-60 mins (depending on how crowded the server is it seems) but sooner or later the CTD will come, no matter what, when RAM fills up and simulator.exe goes beyond that ~1.35 GB limit - it is 100% reproducable here in both FC2 1.2.1 and BS 1.0.2 (without using any mods) in both SP and MP. /KC
  7. I haven't been firing up BS (nor FC2) for long time due to this issue, any info/updates on this one? /KC
  8. Interesting, I did notice the lack of afterburner illumination on your own plane while it's visible on your wingman flying beside you (this using full shadows)? /KC
  9. Nice one, thanks for sharing! /KC
  10. Sounds very similar to this issue/bug... http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=54162 Wished I known a solution but everything I tried has been useless and I'm hoping ED fix this sooner rather than later. /KC
  11. Haven't tried this one yet but it sure looks nice, thanks for sharing your work and of course thanks to original skin artists! /KC
  12. Stock A-10 model. Since I have that CTD issue when RAM/resources gets to high I have to be very selective and stay with smaller mod's I guess. If you do not have Rugbutt's original LOMAC files let me know and I will get it to you somehow... /KC
  13. Thank you Mustang! Any chance to see ruggbutt's awesome A-10 weathered skins repacked for FC2 as well? /KC
  14. Copy that Crunch and kudos to Panzertard for making and sharing his great server tool! /KC
  15. Took the Ka-50 for a ride tonight but did not get any LWR from tanks so I assume you haven't been able to switch yet? BTW, liked the new (for me) mission with some moving groundtargets, just wished they continued to move even after attacking the first few... /KC
  16. Glad to hear you fixed it pingo! /KC
  17. Anyone else having issuse connecting to above link? PS: Thanks for BS Cockpit Trainer, awesome work! /KC
  18. Sounds great! /KC
  19. Sounds strange, if your HOTAS setup works in SP it should work the same in MP. /KC
  20. I haven't been flying for a while due to the CTD issue but now when you mention it I remember beeing fired on by a T72 or T80 on 104th and not getting any LWR from their laser range finder. Worth to investigate further... /KC
  21. I can smell the irony (?) but if you read my post again the keyword is software, I am protected enough by the firewall in the router but YMMW. /KC
  22. Personally I don't use any software firewall at all and AV is not running (i.e not loaded) while flying. /KC
  23. Thanks for making and sharing Cyb0rg, this is exactly whats needed in FC2/BS to increase any missions replayabilty! As you I hope it someday will be included as standard in the editor (like OFP/ArmA's placement radius and probability sliders) but until then this may help, gonna try it out. To make it even easier to use maybe this could be ported to a Authotkey script and thus no need to install Powershell. http://www.autohotkey.com One question, will it somehow be possible to run this (or similar programs/script) on a server between missions, is it possible with ServMan? /KC
  24. Thanks for sharing but unfortunately not for us still running XP but hope it improve/fix the issue for you Vista/Win 7 guys, report back if you test it. /KC
  25. Baksie, you find them in x:\<path to FC2/BS>\Temp directory. /KC
