  1. Is there a command to make the text disappear after a few seconds? I'd like to read the message and then have it go away so it doesn't clutter my view. Possible?
  2. Great sounds are very important for an immersive experience. Agree that sounds are critical to the experience and worth the investment. I see vids of the DCS huey and the sounds make it totally convincing. I know the wwii birds are a much greater challenge but compare say the in game spit flyby sounds to the sounds they used in the release trailer.
  3. I'm making an airfield strafe mission where parked planes can be destroyed, but when I place planes on the airfield as static objects they're indestructible. Is there a way to place aircraft and vehicles that are parked, not taxiing or doing anything in a way that can be destroyed?
  4. See the previous posts from birdstrike. His point isn't one of personal taste, its that there's NO speed loss under conditions that should bleed some energy. No calculations necessary since there should be at least some speed loss if there's some sideslip or flap extension.
  5. I agree and see guy extent flaps in turning fights without losing energy -- another reason I believe there are so few people on multiplayer. Flaps obviously should great significant drag if fully extended, and cause some drag when partially extended at least more than they're currently modeled to do.

Birdstrike for what it's worth I agree with you and find that both sideslip and high AOA bleeds very little energy and makes dogfighting much less interesting because you don't have to manage energy loss very much. The lack of people on mulitplayer suggests many of us feel the same way. Others will say "very little energy compared to what", and again I agree with you that the energy loss shouldn't be zero until you pull extreme AOA, it should register something.

  8. Looking forward to this. A great DM and FM would draw more people, especially to multiplayer. I'm convinced that's why the WWII content isn't more popular. I think they should concentrate on quality over quantity like more planes and maps.
  9. It sure doesn't seem like they recorded actual engine sounds. The flyby sounds in the teaser videos for the spitfire are amazing, but in game it's totally different. I know there are a few mods out there that are improvements, but this would really make DCS stand out from its competitors because nobody does it well. Most are recording lawnmowers or air boats it seems.
  10. Agree that a sophisticated DM would really improve the WWII experience, and attract many more players especially to muliplayer.
  11. Thanks for reporting this. I see the same yellow color and assume they'll fix it.
  12. I would like damage to disable individual control surfaces which would have a corresponding impact on handling and maneuverability.
  13. I agree totally, especially the engine sounds of the WWII birds. Maybe someone can hijack Tiger33's stuff:
