  1. It sounds interesting, I don't have any of the aircraft right now, I'm learning the M2000C right now, but I plan on getting the hornet but later, so I'll keep you in mind, as I'm in Indiana so your hours might fit better. ;)
  2. I'm a newbie on the Mirage 2000c, I'm a bit confused about the altitude readout on the HUD. I see the INS allows to input in feet or metes, but I'm not sure what is displayed on the HUD, is it feet or meters, or does it depend on your settings in DCS?
  3. Wondering if there will be any user control of aerial perspective, as I personally feel the new version lacks enough of it and actually (under certain conditions) should have more haze and fog. It looks too CG fake. just my opinion.
  4. Do you have a tentative release date in mind?
  5. What you think is realistic, isn't actually. In fact, normally there is a ground crew that "sets up " the aircraft to a certain state for the pilot to get in and start his pre-flight checks. This is separate from the "game mode" where you jump in and fly. so far anyway, there are no flight crew simulations in the game, it would be nice to see some especially when refueling and re-arming.
  6. So, I see where most people setup without going into the Saitek controller software, but some of the controls don't seem to show up in DCS, so maybe that's where I'm getting confused. Add to that, I can set a control and I can operate the control and it works, and later it doesn't work. Sometimes if I go back in and select the control and reset the button (already indicated on the screen, it works, don't know if others are having the same issues? I have the Saitek control panel on the other monitor and I can see the buttons are operating, so I am totally confused about what is really going on. Thanks Sideslip, I am doing that because I am not doing well with others ;), thanks for everyone for helping out :)
  7. Thanks for that, I had manually installed the A-10C so I knew where it was, I can now start my plane! :)
  8. Just got the M200C on the winter sale, I installed it through the module manager and I can't find the flight manual. Where is it, maybe give me a file name to search for it. just the first step to learn to fly it and I'm already stuck :helpsmilie:
  9. newbie needs a lesson in setting up X52 I've been messing around for weeks trying to set up my x52 controllers throttle and stick. Need some advice on how to do it. Like modes, I see profiles talking about modes, how do you set them up, how do you program the come with software to work in DCS? How do you program the mouse control on the throttle to work in DCS? How do you get a slider or rotational control to work in DCS? I have been wasting time and everyone on YouTube only puts part of the solution up, like you are born knowing this stuff. Need some help, especially when you have to put DMS, TMS, Coolie Switches, and other things together and you don't even know what they do. :(
  10. I am trying to get things dialed in, but I must be dumb or something, I am confused by these profiles I downloaded. I truly wish that DCS, or even one of the sim companies could do a in depth tutorial on how to set up a variety of controllers, as this is the most crucial important aspects to get anything out of this software. I have been playing around and now I discover that even though I have mapped buttons to commands, and even if I use keyboard commands, they work and now they don't work. Is that normal, do I have to save a profile, even though it shows up on the command panel? Even the manual doesn't help, it is pretty much "Good luck , thanks for your money", like we are supposed to be born knowing how everything is supposed to be set up. Very frustrating. I am using Saitek X52 throttle and stick, don't have a lot of money to throw around ( I'm retired) spending on this or that, especially if I can't even get this stuff to work right.
  11. I am doing the same, after a house fire two years ago, I'm finally getting around to fly again, but I can't hardly do anything as I spend far too much time trying to trim the aircraft. I have a X52 throttle and stick. DCS needs to set up a better control system that allows either an automatic trim setting or a mini app that allows you to calibrate and set up your controls in-game where you use them. I'm totally frustrated wit my experience.
