  1. Everyone needs to create a Windows repair disk using a Bootable USB, it's free on Microsoft website. What it just might be is a corrupted MBR, or other file needed to boot into Windows. The actual installation might be good. there is an option where (at the last resort) you can re-install Windows and keep your files intact, at the prompt is will ask you if you want todo a clean install of Windows or repair, say no and click it should open into a new window that asks your if you want to save your files, click yes, it does a clean install while saving all our apps. It's like Windows repair, except Windows repair fails 90% of the time. I don't recall the windows and options you need to click on to get there at the moment, but do a search concerning windows fails to boot after an update, and it should get you where you need to be. Hope that helps, if you got it taken care of that's good, but this might help avoid a very painful situation, especially if you haven't backed up your files in a while.
  2. When any product comes out of "Early Release", what is it called? My biggest concern is ED will focus on more new releases instead of actually finishing what they already have, and I believe that is what is bothering most people. When people say I don't want to buy anything in "Early Release" they will then think they are getting a finished product and in fact, they won't be. Then, for some unknown reason, Steam comes into the conversation, WTF? It doesn't even match what ED has said in the past and they are clearly not following. Now, we are getting newer "versions" of a somehow "finished" products like Warthog 2, that is what? We have updates, improvements as a maintenance update to a supposedly finished product, and they add a weapon system and here we go a "new" product. I don't think people are really concerned about the "Early Release model" that ED does, it's all about what comes after. Now apparently we have some kind of vote as to what is a priority in a product that no longer IS a priority. I said before, there is no joy in Mudville and I meant it. ED has to state clearly and effectively what their new product will be, what features it will have and what will be considered finished and a reasonable timeline. I am hoping their software engineers are learning and gaining experience with each release that will enable them to move quicker in the future and remove the fog from the so called "transparency".
  3. They need to clarify the mumbo jumbo as they don't specify how to apply the points, and there is no place to apply those Bonus points, there is a coupon box they specifically state not bonus points and on the payment page, there is no place to add the bonus points.
  4. Not sure how this all works as I'm not a coder, but how do these modules work, My idea of a module is it just plugs in to the core gaming system and gets calls and sends out requests for data. But, I see every release breaks something somewhere and sometimes it has nothing to do with the system in question. So, I am curious. Doesn't have anything to do with EA, or OB or stable, just how does this all work together? I think an explanation in general terms would enlighten people and hopefully their intelligence will kick in.
  5. !'m having the same issue. The box in the Kart says enter coupon code for discount not Bonus. All those legalese terminology doesn't tell you how to apply them to any purchase. If they are no good, they should tell you. Where do they provide the release date? they say the news, where is that? Why can't they state it right in the e-shop? The P-51D has been out for years.
  6. I have some bonus points left in my account. They expire on June 1st, I want to buy a P-51 while it's on sale, how do I do that, they show only mileage, how can I apply my bonus points?
  7. I am beat down, I know it doesn't matter what I say, they will do what they please. I can understand delays in the pandemic, I respect that, but to remain vague in what is EA, out of EA and maintenance updates is a failure of the profound. They are setting up a moving target as an excuse, and I just ain't buying it. They need to focus on the vital parts, flight model, with basic weapons and steadily move out from there. They claimed they would work on both Hornet and Viper with no delays, they now say things that were never mentioned before, so the bottom line here is we are at their mercy. They talk about how much they've grown, which to me means they are bringing in more money, which I see could be put to work finishing out their product line while tackling new projects. It's like a retail store with not enough employees, they expect their customers to put up with it because "that's just the way it is". That's not the way it should be. With all the success ED has going, there is no joy in Mudville.
  8. Also, a common issue for newbies is, those engines need a little patience in allowing them to spool up. This means staying ahead of the engines, using the throttle actively constantly moving them and adjusting as they try to catch up to what you really want them to do. it takes a little practice, but once you've got it, it becomes second nature.
  9. The speed brake automatically closes, but it is not disabled, you can still apply the brakes, you might have to keep your button pressed till touchdown, they will then stay open.
  10. Here is one, it shows the window but shows no information
  11. This is great news, I am anticipating the ED crew will be making significant progress on all these things that are real issues for so many. I think they have more money coming in from all these newbies joining in so, this allows them to allocate more resources to the "core", so it's happy days.
  12. I have noticed in the f-10 map view when I select an aircraft, the corresponding pop up window no longer displays the speed, altitude or direction of the aircraft. Is this just a bug, or is this the way it is supposed to work from now on?
  13. I have been having this issue ever since Razbam made some updates to the cockpit in the Mirage 2000c. Prior to the 2.5.6 update. When I am in the cockpit even if I lower the seat, I can't see the radar without bending way over to the side (I use track IR) I don't have this problem with my other aircraft (I have the F-18c, the AV8BN, the F-16, the F-86 and the A-10c) I don't know how to fix the issue, not sure if it's just me, or a bug? I used to fly the Mirage all the time, I love it, but now, I seldom get into it anymore because I have such a hard time with the seat.
  14. I've had mine for about 4 months and I am happy with only one issue. I find my throttle to be relatively sticky to move. It moves smoothly but it's like the grease is very sticky. I can move the throttle back and forth several times to ease the movement and this is with the knob on the side loosened all the way. That is my only complaint all the buttons and switches and mini-sticks work as advertised and I am happy I got it.. I find when I am trying to slow down quickly I have to use a lot of force to get the throttles back, this affects my performance in dog fights. I had an x-52 for several years before that and I was so used to the throttle moving easily. I am hesitant to take the bottom off the throttle and try to clean off the grease, not sure how to fix the issue.
  15. You haven't explained how you're saving your profile. What are your flight controls, do you use the software that comes with your throttle and stick? Do you use the DCS controls to set up your controls. How long have you had this problem. A little more information would help others to help you.
  16. I printed out my A-10c manual years ago but I cut out all the history parts and weapons parts, and I still have it in a binder. Now, I put every manual on my Kindle and I have a second monitor that is very handy to pop open to check and confirm what I'm doing. It does help quite a bit especially when you fly planes that you don't fly very often.

    No updates?

getting messed up on the updates Guess I'm confused, I was expecting an update for DCS World Beta today, when is it supposed to happen?
  18. Have you tried going into Windows > Control Panel> devices and printers then selecting the controllers and a window pops up allowing you to choose which controller and properties and a controller window displaying the switches and controls If you try this, and the Mode switch will go through all three, then the problem might lie in DCS, possibly a corrupt LUA. I believe if you go into your installation , find your aircraft, go to config and delete it (only in your specific aircraft) then go back and set up your controls again. I had a problem where it was working fine and then suddenly it wasn't seeing my keyboard and after I did that (I found an answer in the forums) I got all things working . Not sure if this might apply in your case.
  19. You can create a dead zone in the DCS key mapping software. if you are having issues with the joystick applying output when you don't wish. Us the Axis tune feature and there are different sliders that do different things. If you have trim bound to a hat switch, that's a first step. If you have other issues (not sure what "all over the place" might mean), you can adjust the sensitivity by adjusting the slider under the Curvature tab, this desensitizes allowing you to make slight corrections without great changes. Or, you can adjust the two axis and adjust the slider down to minimize the same thing - I do this a lot with the Mini-sticks on the Throttle and Joy Stick. Hope that helps.

  21. Honestly, I don't use the Logitech/Saitek software, I do what I want using DCS key mapping. I then create a spreadsheet (Cheat Sheet)to print out for each plane. I try to keep every plane very similar even though most planes do not have the same features exactly. I use modifiers to help reuse the HOTAS buttons and switches. Then it's a matter of flying the planes often to build muscle memory.
  22. I haven't been flying it since the controls for my HOTAS (x-56) do not work with that T-pod on, Every other plane I have is set up the same or similar -EXCEPT the F-16. sometimes they work sometimes they don't work, sometimes they work and then quit. Very frustrating. Luckily I have other planes to fly.
  23. I think all the work in the F-18c was groundwork and the F-16 will go much quicker. What you see in updates are far behind where they are in development, they just have to test and test more to ensure they get the results they are looking for. Very time consuming. If you look back at all the development that was going on at the same time, you would be amazed they got anything done. I have to say (because I am a frequent critic of ED), is they have done a great job.
  24. Glad to have you aboard! I bought the A-10c as my first aircraft and I realized I was over my head and struggled, but with your real life experience, it will be better. Once you have mastered the A-10c, everything else will be a piece of cake! I do recommend something like an F-5 to start as the systems are simpler, but jumping into the fire with the A-10c pays off for those who are stubborn, like me, Lol!
  25. Kind of late to the party, but, This might help. If you go to controls in DCS, then got to Axis commands, click on the control you want to adjust and click on axis tune at the bottom, a window pops up allowing you to adjust the performance of the control. In your case, you might try increasing/decreasing the saturation of the x and y axis and see if it has an influence. doing it there will keep you from having to make adjustments in the cockpit every time you jump into a plane.
