Anyone purchase the Thrustmaster AVA base for their Warthog
kludger replied to kmaultsby's topic in Thrustmaster
I ordered one of each as well, although I'm curious why there is only one dual pitch blade and not two, I couldn't find any explanation of what that is simulating, I guess I will find out myself, since these just came out there are no reviews yet. -
I was stationed at Finthen Army Airfield '88-'90, indeed we had CH-47, UH-1, AH-1S, OH-58C, UH-60 based there, no AH-64A those were the new hotness at nearby Wiesbaden Air Base which is modeled.

How to fly A-10 without pedals, suggestions pls
kludger replied to Bahger's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I have the same situation, I use my G27 pedals for iRacing and so don't have room for dedicated flight pedals, and I got the G25 pedals working as rudders using GlovePIE last year, I posted the info here: http://forums.simflight.com/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=73020&start=15#p465878 I never really got used to it so I returned to using the twist rudder control on my X-52 but maybe the info in that post will help point you in the right direction. -
Ok my iPhone at least gets a response from the Sagepay site so it was definitely a Comcast routing prob to Sagepay, unfortunately the iPhone Safari browser just displays the source content of the resulting Sagepay form instead of rendering it. Third option was a charm though I was able to purchase it fine from the web at work so I now have a license waiting for when I get home. Thanks for confirming it wasn't just me and I hope they sort out the connectivity from Comcast.

Ah great that info really helps, I am on Comcast too so will try from my iphone.

I've downloaded and installed DCS-A10 beta and have been trying to "purchase" it for the last few hours with no luck, when I enter my info and checkout and the digitalcombatsimulator.com site redirects off to https://live.sagepay.com/gateway/service/cardselection?... it never responds. I've tried it many times in both Chrome and Firefox for the last 4-5 hours and no luck same results. Kind of frustrating that everything is installed and ready to go except I can't pay and purchase the darn beta. Is anyone getting through the sagepay system tonight or is this just happening to me? Maybe it is time to consider Steam for the payment/distribution system. Thanks in advance for any help.

Looks like live.sagepay.com is not keeping up with the pent up demand for DCS, have been trying to buy it for the last 20mins and keep getting the following when it gets to the sagepay step: "The server at live.sagepay.com is taking too long to respond." Will keep trying... Finished the download of the files, still can't get past the sagepay... will keep trying, hopefully we are beta testing the pay system too and based on this they will either improve sagepay or better yet switch to Steam for the final release.

Need help getting FC2 working in Eyefinity @ 5760X1200
kludger replied to XysteR's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
In case it helps I'm using the following settings successfully on my Eyefinity at 6000x1080 (bezel compensated 5760x1080), note most settings were borrowed from an earlier SoftTH Thread from S77th_RIKE/Kegetys with a couple tweaked for my own needs. I uploaded the modified view config .lua files here (with backups of the original files in case they are needed): http://www.filefront.com/16236877/FC2-Eyefinity.zip YMMV, make a backup of your FC2 files just in case there's a problem. -
Fess up! Who else here is having a hard time?
kludger replied to Ramstein's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Thanks for the helpful tactics advice in this thread... After 35 hours of KA-50 flight, I feel pretty comfortable with flying, hovering, and the systems to put missiles or bullets on target especially if I am redoing a mission and know the general area of where to find the targets, but I'm really struggling with the tactics on how to successfully discover and take on multiple difficult enemies when I don't know where the enemy is ahead of time, I always seem to run into them or spot them at the same time that Ekran Betty is telling me "Attack Missile at 12'oclock" and then it's a mad scramble of dropping flares while shooting rockets or trying to evade and pull back out of range without taking mortal damage, only occasionally successfully, most times not (having a hard time with the mission called "Patrol" on the English version as a current example, the manpads + Shilkas + BMPs all seem to spot me at the same time as I spot them and the canyon doesn't allow much room to maneuver). At this point I end up having to pick between crawling at 70 kph to avoid stumbling into anything too quickly but taking ages to actually get to the target area, or flying at 170 kph and not spotting things early enough to avoid being attacked first. I continue to be thankful and look for every bit of helpful tactics advice I see here and on SimHQnet, and meanwhile I've postponed doing the campaigns as I get killed too often the first time I do a mission for now, until I learn better when to recognize "cruise" and "stalk" by feel or I figure out how to recon the mission map ahead of time to pick the right stalking spots... Also hoping as the talented folks have more time with Blackshark there will be more helpful videos or guides done specifically on safe attacking tactics (i.e. producer series, or Ironhand's series, or even BeachAV8R's guides). The great thing is even repeatedly flying NOE to the target area and getting my butt shot down in the Ka-50 is still great fun and not yet frustrating, I'm still having fun with it. --John -
BTW It looks like the Video download section for the Ultimate Hardware video is pointing incorrectly to the 183MB trim.wmv video instead of what video it should be. Hope that helps. --John

Very nice AAR! was this one of the Georgian Oil campaign missions?

Just adding to the kudos, another longtime flightsim fan here who owned Lomac but has been bored and spending most of his time the last few years with driving sims instead of flightsims (GTR2, Rfactor etc.), but Blackshark has really got me hooked, after 20+ flight hours I can tell you I haven't had this much fun since DI's Tornado and Longbow2. Looking forward to many hours with the ka-50 and looking forward to the warthog and other future DCS modules. --John
