  1. Thanks, Andre! I'm aware of the compressor setting and will try it with only an few more effects active. With just some disabled on the other hand the compression did not do much, and crackling was still there when multiple effects kicked in.
  2. Indeed, same here :( How and where did you add some weights to your shaker? More "punch" sounds good!
  3. Thanks for your advise. I'll give it another try. Btw, I can "hear" Wags through the BK because I enabled audio mirroring in steamvr. For now this in combination with just a few SSA effects like flaps, gear up/down etc gives me the best results so far. I'd like to use SSA alone, that's what I bought Andre's Module for. But unfortunately it just doesn't come anyway close to F14 engine rumbling or afterburner ie with audio mirroring. Or I'm doing something wrong here. I was flying with SSA alone for one week. Then I was reminded what the BK is actually capable of when I enabled Steamvr audio mirroring... with absolutely NO klack-klacks. So is it me or the effect source of SSA? ;)
  4. Hi! I´ve been flying with my buttkicker gamer 2 in combination with SSA for a week now. I really enjoy SSA´s effects but somehow my buttkicker does too much of, what I call the Klack-klack-sounds. I already tried different values for the effects and adjusted the volume to avoid clipping. So I again tried the feeling of steamsvr audio mirroring, and what a difference! The rumbles feel much more from down below and way more powerful than the Brrrrrt-klack-klack :) In some few situations I can feel Wags´ words under my butt aswell, and I know its because of audio mirroring. Well, I decided for now to have a combination of a few SSA effects and audio mirroring. But I still have my doubts I did everything right with SSA. How are you feeling its effects? Do you experience those klack-klack-sounds? Its sometimes so loud that its really annoying. Thanks!
  5. I recently installed latest stable version 2.5.5.41371 and applied the specific mod version for it. I´m fine with it except.. cockpit shadows are much too dark. Had that problem way before and could resolve it, but cannot recall how. I regenerated fxo and metashaders, tried to disable or enable some options in _HDM.hlsl but no lock, regenerated shaders again etc.. no luck. Does anybody know what to do about this?
  6. "Again, in my opinion, one can tinker with DCS/Steam settings for ever, but the only things that make a significant difference to performance are MSAA and SS/PD. Shadows also make a difference, but all the other stuff is largely irrelevant." I have to disagree here. From what I've read here in the forums and what I experienced for some years now is that some settings next to MSAA and SS/PD do make a huge difference. Default terrain shadows, visible range ie. Civil traffic is just load on the CPU, and causes stutter on my side. Chimney smoke just tanks GPU, because smoke in general does that alot. Don't get me wrong here... this community is gold, and I found so much useful knowledge here to get to my sweet spot for good visuals and smooth performance (+45 fps) in years. I'm on SS 160 % with my reverb atm (but I'm using the shader mod), no MSAA, terrain shadows flat!, cockpit shadows low, civil traffic off, chimney smoke 0, since 2.5.6 visib range medium (had that on high). Beware of trees vis, when you fly low. Turn it down till you have no stutter when looking 90 degrees out of the cockpit. Without the shader mod I'd lower my SS to 120%, and that's all to get the same performance, for it mainly relieves the GPU. Just my 2 cents ;) I see many having some settings too high and fiddling with SS without seeing real benefit.
  7. No. Only the first time, or prior flight when you load a map the first time. After that loading times are normal. Every now and then in the first flights you can get some stutter when a new shader is built I guess. Just test it. Works fine now on my end with todays update.
  8. in "saved games/DCS.openbeta" are these two folders "fxo" and "metashaders2". I delete them, they will be recreated. Now to the installation drive... Eagle Dynamics/DCS World OpenBeta/Mods/terrains/"the maps you own"/misc/metacache/dcs I rename the dcs folder to dcs.old. Ready to fly. At least that's how I always do it.
  9. Guess what... second picture looks better  I've recently seen the original graphics alot, cause for some time the mod didn't work. And I'd loooove to to fly without the mod, cause it's a pain in the *** to activate it correctly. But I did not want to start a discussion weather to use it or not. In case of visuals everyone has his priorities. I don't care about seeing whats under the water. I've seen post of people turning off shadows to flat or even off in the cockpit. No go for me, it kills my immersion. As well the scratches on the canopy. I want to feel like inside the cockpit and its canopy (again, simple canopy can be turned off, the simple grass too). I need a clear picture in the distance, I hate shimmering, I want to see the ball when I call it. That for I need to push some settings up, but for 2.5.6 I had to turn some of them down (once again). The mod gives me the VR optimization that is bloody needed. Use it or leave it, if you don't like it :smilewink:
  10. Easy to understand, when you think of a performance boost of around 25% in VR. Too bad you didn't have that on your system. For the visuals, you can turn off some things like simplified canopy or grass, and then it's hard for me to tell the difference to the original. Ok, less bloom.. For me this mod is a way to deal with the performance in 2.5.6. I was just trying to help. Doclucio said the mod is not working anymore, and that is not true.
  11. ...this! Btw: Kegetys shader mod has been updated and works fine now on OB 2.5.6! Maybe someone here wants to give it a try. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=215373
  12. Stumbled upon (cannot reproduce) for this issue and even more couldn't believe it's not being investigated after reading all this. Just to add myself here: I'm having these framedrops as soon as I turn on floodlights on. IE Mission "Island stile" startup smooth, floodlights on.. losing 7-9 frames, down to sub 40, stutter. Quick Mission 2v1, turning them on when RTB.. well, I should better not be flying over a forest :smilewink:
  13. Don't forget to rename the shader folders for every map in the install directory to dcs.old or something else, as mentioned in the readme.
  14. I'd like to know that too. It was a little late yesterday, so I couldn't check that in detail, but obviously something in higher settings indeed gave a performance boost. I couldn't isolate it though. Everything maxed out, I mean everything including shadows on default and high ie, or traffic to high just tanks my system too much. Especially the enormous amount of things to be rendered kills my 2080ti in VR (PD set to 130 in steamvr, no ingame MSAA). Near a forest on Caucasus map it's just a slideshow. Btw I use HP reverb atm and try to remain at least 45 fps. Everything below is nothing I would consider smooth or playable once up in the air.
  15. Did you wait long enough? It can take some time to load the shaders for the first time... Depending on your system I would wait at least 15 Minutes. I did not stop time, but on my side I waited about 5 Minutes to get to main menu, and about 7 to get to flight in the A10
  16. This one helped me a lot https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=114030
  17. Go to first page here, download for DCS World 2.5.6.43503 and just follow exactly the instructions in the readme.txt
  18. Holy s***! That was fast! I didn't expect that! Thank you so much, Kegetys!
  19. Well, on my side it didn't work. I already reverted back to 2.5.5.41962, but had to try this. So I upgraded again, just to see. Too bad! Kegetys, please please help us all! :helpsmilie:
  20. Same here... Does anybody know what file we have to remove this time to get the mod working?
  21. I can see raindrops aswell. Of course I enabled them. But there are, so to say two kinds of raindrops: Those floating over the canopy and the ones that fall on it, stay, and disappear after a few seconds. In VR only the last mentioned are visible. Those moving over the glass are not visible for me, not really. In fact I found out, that on my Reverb some sort of fragments of these drops are visible only for the left eye, and they´re not moving at all. For the right eye there are just not there. As someone mentioned here these raindrops could be in some kind of two different layers. Anyway.. complared to 2D the VR drops are broken, just as I saw them when they were implemented in 2018.
