I came here to ask if the fps has improved, alas it seems not. I’d love to get the chinook and Afghan map, not yet I guess.

I thought so. The randomisation of time/weather would add a fair amount of dynamism to the most simple of mission, especially with the new fog. At the moment I’m adjusting the time in the mission editor, and that works fine. But hopefully We’ll get this, at face value it seems like a pretty obvious improvement. I need to look into this, . Live vid feed would be sick. Maybe one day? Hunting for targets with the mms and seeing how far you can get a APKWS rocket to go is a lot of fun. If only it were a little faster. I have a couple more questions if you don’t mind? Id like to use the OH 6 mod for CSAR, I think I’ve found the CSAR config in the triggers but I don’t know what to put in there so that it recognises the OH6 for troop pickup. Where is the best place to start in learning how to creat a dynamic mission like expansion? I recently find my self with the time and the will, but not the knowledge. I’d really like to make a dynamic WWII mission with persistence, and any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for this though, great fun.

Thank you, that did the trick. I’d done that for the file but not the directory, doh! Though I can’t spend my ill gotten gains in the Kiowa, if I hop over to the Huey the f10 option works again. Huzzah! Is it possible to randomise the time of day when the mission starts? Alternatively, if I change the .miz mission start time would it cause issues with triggers and/or persistence? Some night time ops would be fun. Ive only just got persistence working (thanks @MAXsenna) so only taken the two nearest power plant objectives, but so far it’s felt like things are going on. As a sp player it’s great to have a mission that feels alive, and it’s a good size for helicopters. Please allow me a further Huzzah! Getting persistence to work I’ve flown my little Kiowa around a relatively small area, only the nearest power plants, but quite a few times. It’s different every time, I’ve watched Mig 23s (I think) zooming around at low level shooting down Cobras right in front of me (I fled like the wind). I’ve been murdered by Jeffs on some attempts, and on others completely ignored. It’s great! Many thanks for this. A bigger one of this on Syria would be sick, but I’d love to see a dynamic mission like this for WW2. Is it possible?

Aha, thank you, sounds promising! Apart from the Spitfire, the Kiowa is pretty much all I fly now, I love it!

First off, thank you for making this mission, it seems like just what me and my Kiowa were after. I’ve talked to my eldest daughter about changing her name to Cfrag, she doesn’t seem too keen I’m afraid. I’m trying to run this mission on a dedicated server on a spare laptop to help with performance (just me playing.) But Ive run into a couple of issues: I can’t get persistence to work, I’ve edited the mission scripting file (on the D/S install folder) but I can’t save it (it says I don’t have permission). Also I don’t get the option in the F10 menu to spend my funds when parked up at the airbase. (could these issues be related perhaps?) One other thing I’ve noticed, my Kiowa speed readings are inaccurate. It says I’m doing 8 knots when I’m parked up (after returning to base). Not a big issue, and perhaps nothing to do with this mission, I’ve just not seen that happen before. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

My copy of Low Level Hell arrived yesterday, so I’m off to the pub tonight to give that a good read. Then I’ll be downloading this first thing tomorrow morning, woop woop! I’ve become a bit obsessed with the helos in DCS recently, haven’t been in the spitfire or hornet in ages. I’m going through one of the worst periods of my life right now, and DCS + Helicopters is really helping me out, so thank you. -
Nice! Thanks @Bailey

Interpreting CPU/GPU Numbers from DCS and OXRTK Overlays
Digitalvole replied to Maddaawg's topic in Virtual Reality
God I have a terrible memory! Thanks for that, I’d assumed you added them up. Good to know. I need to find out how to see these graphs, only ones I can find are in the ODT hud overlays. I shall investigate further. -

Does one combine the app and rdr cpu frame time to get the total cpu frame time? -
What did I think of Kiowa? It needs to improve in some areas!
Digitalvole replied to ThorBrasil's topic in DCS: OH-58 Kiowa
I hope they don’t add high res textures if that’s going to cause a hit to performance, it’s ok as it is but very close to the Apache already, which is not so ok. But perhaps that’s just me, I find the textures in the Huey more than adequate for the job, being a VR user. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for some optimisations at some point, if at all possible. In the mean time, this weekend I should have time to set up my key binds and have some proper fun with the Kiowa. Can’t wait!- 591 replies

Yeah, that’s what I’ll probably do too. I play in VR and I keep thinking I’ve got some dirt on my lenses. I’ll get used to it though.

Ok thanks, not a big deal but I’d appreciate the option. For some reason I find it a bit distracting

I was going to start a new thread, but do you mind if i quickly hijack this one for a cpu based question? when using then oxrtk frame time counter (and I’m using quad view DFR) there are 2 cpu frame times, app and rdr I think but I can’t properly remember. What is the difference, and do you add the 2 together to get your total cpu frame time? Sorry, didn’t see that other thread, I’m a numpty

Can we remove it?
