  1. I'm not doing vr.
  2. What I really want to know is, how do the graphics cards and processors compare to each other?

  4. *sigh* I know you guys all think building my own PC is a better choice, and you may be right, but right now I'd just like to buy one. Makes things a bit simpler for me.
  5. I'm not really interested in building my own right now. How about this guy?https://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/hp-pavilion-590-p0085z-cto?jumpid=ma_black-friday-sale_product-tile_desktops_27_3uq68aa_hp-pavilion-590-p008
  6. Besides, my original question was just which was better of the two.
  7. Both are actually quite a step up from what I was using.
  8. What's so bad about them? And what else would you recommend? I don't have any computer-building experience.
  9. Which of these two is a better investment? https://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/hp-pavilion-desktop-tp01-0165z https://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/hp-envy-desktop-te01-0165t?jumpid=ma_new-desktops_product-tile_desktops_6_3uq85aa_hp-envy-desktop---te&ds_rl=1231690&jumpid=ps_con_dt_ns&utm_medium=ps&utm_source=ga&utm_campaign=Desktops-DSA_Product_OPEX_DSA_All_BASCPS&utm_term=&matchtype=b&adid=398657321510&addisttype=g&gclid=EAIaIQobChMItpmKm9n-5QIViMBkCh0PzgyjEAAYASAAEgIHWfD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
  10. Hi, I'm looking to get a new monitor for DCS. My budget is ~$300, although of course anything cheaper is also welcome. I'm looking mainly at hp and dell, but other suggestions are welcome. What matters most in a monitor for DCS? How high do I really have to go?
  11. Yeah, thanks.
  12. Well, I know I can run DCS on 8GB of RAM, that's all I've ever been doing, and I can always add more. It may not be perfect, but I can't afford much more, it looks to be pretty good for the price tag from what I can tell, and it's certainly a step up from what I'm using now.
  13. Thanks for the info. In case I didn't make it clear, my budget isn't just the computer, but also the monitor and whatever else I'd decide to get. How's this guy look?https://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/hp-envy-desktop-te01-0165t
  14. I think I know roughly what I'm going to get; is there any specific reason to go for SSD over HDD?
  15. The in-game Mica IR/RF missiles used by the AI Mirage 2000-5 have too much drag or some other problem-they never reach their target, even in ideal conditions. Mica Bug.trk Mica Bug 2.trk
  16. In this track, aside from the immortality and the F-15C going through the Pyotr Velikiy (all of which I controlled), there are actually a couple of issues. With both the SM-2 and the 48N6 missiles, after they reach a certain altitude/flight time/distance from mothership, their exhaust bugs out and the fire part disappears. Also, with the 48N6, even after it stops burning, there is still the same sound (the sound of a ramjet), not the airflow noise you'd expect. Also, the 48N6 is labelled as follows: 48N6 S-300F (SA-N-6) on the F-10 map; however, it is an upgraded version, and should look like this: 48N6 S-300FM (SA-N-20); the previous label (except for, obviously, the first 48N6 bit) is what the Moskva and Pyotr Velikiy's 5V55 missiles should be labelled; as it is, they have the same designation as the land-based SA-10 (5V55 S-300PS (SA-10B)), and while it is the same missile (the 5V55R), it is a different system. Just a few things I thought I'd point out. Naval SAM Bugs And Problems.trk
  17. And in the MiG-29S I'll always take two R-73s and two R-77s, as well as the centerline 1,400 liter drop tank. I'll add onto that either two R-77s, two R-27ERs, two R-27ETs, or one ER and one ET.
  18. My standard load in the J-11A is 2 R-27ERs, 2 R-27ETs, 4 R-73s, and 2 R-77s. Occasionally I'll replace two of the 73s with ECM, or the ERs with more 77s, but not usually.
  19. All great information guys, thanks! When it comes to R-27ER VS R-77 (which is kind of my main point right now), one way of putting it would be this: in a J-11A (or MiG-29S), in addition to my other weapons, should I have 4 R-77s, or 2, plus 2 R-27ERs?
  20. So I'm thinking about buying a new computer for DCS, is there anything I should know or just go with the recommended specs? My budget is ~$1,000, and while I'm not banking on it, it'd be nice to also fit a nice TrackIR in there.
  21. So please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the range of the medium-range missiles in DCS goes like this: R-27ER/AIM-120C>R-27ET/AIM-120B>R-77/Super 530D>R-27R/T/AIM-7M.
  22. Yes, please update.
  23. Wait a minute, I thought MAC was just going to be another DCS module, sort of like an extended FC3. Is it instead a separate thing, like an updated LOMAC?
  24. Okay, thanks. To put it another way, it's already well known that the R-27ER has a decent range advantage over the R-77. Given that the MiG-29S and J-11A treat both missiles like SARH, even though the -77 is ARH, is there any reason to carry Adders instead of Alamo-Cs?
  25. Okay, so say you're in an F-15C (or any aircraft, it really doesn't matter), and you're enemy (be he a J-11A or MiG-29S) fires an R-27ER at its Rmax (maximum) range. Then, another time, he fires an R-77 at ITS Rmax range. Ignoring the range difference, which is more capable (harder to dodge)? Now, say you launch each at the R-77's range (say about 35 kilometers), which is harder to avoid now?
